Kougu's breath came in short gasps, punctuated by the puffs of steam released from his lips into the icy air. His long legs flashed out before him, carrying him in leaps and bounds down the steep decline. His dark eyes were wide with panic, and every few strides he would glance nervously over his shoulder, then redouble his speed and sprint on. Everything about his maddened dash gave the impression of a baby gazelle being stalked by a lion, and Kougu was clearly the prey. The question was... Who was the predator? Kougu gasped as he lost his footing on a slab of ice, his old, worn black shoes flying out from beneath him due to lack of friction and sending him somersaulting through the air. He landed hard on his back, curled into a ball to break his fall, then rolled a short distance down the hill. He peered out from beneath the shield of his arms for a safe place to find his footing, then straightened his legs in an instant as he saw a big clump of rock lessening the steepness of the slope. He got his legs back in order without breaking stride and dashed on even faster than before, his dark hair flying back to flap like a raven's wing in the icy breeze. Only when Kougu finally reached the bottom of the slope did he dare to pause. He glanced up, staring right at the place from whence he had just escaped. Of course, he saw nothing, for the facility was well hidden... Yet he knew where it was, and the simple fact that it was there was enough to send a chill scuttling down his spine. He cursed softly under his breath as he heard the distant sound of sirens, and saw a well disguised black helicopter flying overhead, its spotlight trained on the ground only a short distance away from him. He leaped into the bushes and crouched there, hiding. He had never thought he would be able to do this... He had thought he was too heavily guarded... But apparently not. After all, he had eventually managed to escape, even if it had taken him the best part of 18 years, and he certainly did not plan on being recaptured any time soon! A shadow of a smile crossed Kougu's lips as he finally caught enough breath to close his mouth and hush his exhausted panting. Adrenalin and fear pumped up the speed and intensity of his heartbeat until it could be seen thumping beneath his thin white T-shirt. Goosebumps were slowly raising up on his bare arms as the chill of the night sunk its teeth into his pale flesh. It had been years since he had felt outside air for more than a few moments... Even with the biting cold and the threat of hypothermia, it was the most amazing feeling. Kougu had to bite back a crow of exuberant laughter, settling for naught but a delighted snicker as he slowly crept away from the scene, praying that they would not find him. He had worked far too hard for far too long to lose all of this now... Yet he was also aware that he knew far too much, and that
that man would stop at nothing to bring him back... Alive and in tact. Kougu's expression darkened, and he banished the cruel thoughts from his mind before breaking into a jog, keeping to the shadows as he entered the forest. Gradually, the vegetation around him grew thicker and thicker as the tall trees became more dense. Silver moonlight filtered down in a dappled veil through their leaves, leaving the illusion of pale silver dollars sprinkling the ground. When the moonlight hit Kougu's skin, he seemed almost vampiric with his icy complexion and jet black hair. The branches tore at Kougu's clothes, and roots snagged his feet time and again, yet he raced ever onward, not daring to stop, not able to stop...
Some days later, Kougu lay unconscious near the edge of a small, hidden town. He had passed out where he stood the second his body had decided that it could not go on any longer. He now lay at the base of a tall conifer, his long limbs crumpled at awkward angles beneath his thin, scrawny body. His clothes were ripped and bloodstained from his flight through the forest, and his lips were tinged blue from cold. Dark rings under his sunken eyes showed the insomnia that he had suffered from his whole life, yet the way he lay so peacefully, he might almost have been sleeping despite that. Alas, Kougu had no such luck. He groaned softly as consciousness began to return to him, wincing as pain shot through every one of his strained muscles. He gradually eased himself up until he was sitting against the tree trunk, then forced his dark blue eyes wide open and glanced around.
What was this place...? Panic flashed through Kougu's gentle face and he quickly scrambled to his feet, glancing around urgently. Was he safe? This town... Were its residents friends or foes? He knew nothing... What ought he to do? Run away? No, he hadn't the strength... Hide? But where? Kougu gnawed on his lip nervously, his midnight blue eyes casting around in desperation for some solution to his predicament.
((Never mind.

Managed to choke out a decent one.
Gaia, please have a quick glance over the map and town description. I highly doubt Trivia Town would have any blocks of apartments.

It's hidden in the middle of a forest, and all the houses are spread quite widely apart.
