Oh yeah and you can submit only 1 illustration per person. They accept jpg, png, and PSD. To be honest, I'd use Photoshop(make sure resolution is set to 300dpi!). You could then but that image on it own layer, and get the general pose. I don't know why they're not accepting Illustrator files since it's an illustration contest. And yes, it seriously sounds like what you submit could turn out to be the real illustration. In other words, it will be the final and official thing. No re-draws.
