Thanks to the people who replied!

I think I worded things a little incorrectly there so I apologize for that.
Yes I am aware of the stereotypes and how Slytherin people are portrayed. I have a tendency to act a lot more rawr than I actually am. This was far more prominent when I was younger but as I have gotten older I have calmed down a bit. I think what originally attracted me to Slytherin was being able to tell my friends. "Hey guys! Look, I'm in Slytherin so you better not mess with me because I'm cunning and all that!"
It was and is used as an initial defense mechanism to ward off potential threats (I am going to link this back to my Patronus, most fitting animal form/ Daemon) which would relate to the Armoured Rat's spines and tendency to make a rather loud noise when confronted (The reason for this noise is not known however I would assume it is a bluff to ward off the predator), to look intimidating so that they are less likely to be threatened.

I believe I do have traits from Slytherin being selectively loyal, close-knit with my friends and reserved around strangers as well as taking the 'easy option' when the opportunity arises. As well as being Hufflepuff where I am extremely loyal to my friends and non-judgmental, I am also very polite and amicable. When the two are put together the two houses influence each other. For example like Hufflepuff I am non-judgmental and amicable however the Slythein influence causes me to be more reserved around people I don't know well and more inclined to remain with my core group of friends.

But in regards to this there are only four houses which makes the analysis of ones personality in regards to house very fluid. It also means the people in each house can easily fit into another (Like Harry being able to choose Griffindor over Slytherin) so in basis it means personality is not the deciding factor in sorting. So any one person isn't all one house so it doesn't matter if you're not hardworking and in Hufflepuff though it does tend to be that way it isn't a life or death thing...

In summary, I'm a Hufflerin!

(Let me know if I have once again worded anything incorrectly. I am the type of person who will say something and realize what they should have said ten minutes later XD)

stereotypes really are anoying...
i agree; it's so hard to think about where you fit in when there are only 4 houses...
for me; it's actually that i don't really fit into any house at all... x) i'm not ambitious (only when it comes to drawing xD) or cunning and not intelligent; i'm also not smart either (even though pottermore sorted me into ravenclaw) and even though i may have a strong personality i am not brave. so only hufflepuff left. well i'm not hardworking at all (only when it comes to drawing ;D) but i think i'm quite just and true and i spose i have a positive way of thinking about other people. and i can't stand it when people judge either. i like it about hufflepuff that she says, we'll take everyone and teach them just the same, i like that attitude (matches with mine ^^) and i feel like i belong there the most. :3
well about the sloth patronus; i think it's not good to hurry around and and run through your life but to go slow and enjoy every moment. (if anyone here has read life of pi; i thought of the thing he says in the end about him being far smaller and slower and not overseeing the algae island unlike the big ships) i also actually live a rather calm life. :3 i always thought of jackdaw, cuz they're my favorite animals and they make me feel happy everytime i see one :33 but they just don't suit my personality so yeah. also sloths sorta see the world upside down. sometimes i have the feeling i do the same ^^ ;D

I don't think you could really pin attributes like hardworking, brave and smart to the houses.

(Ignore my saying hardworking earlier) But I think maybe instead of being hardworking, Hufflepuff people might have a tendency to see things through to the end. Be tenacious and not back down from a challenge easily which could be a deeper interpretation of being hardworking. See I wouldn't call myself 'hardworking' (And I dare say everyone who knows me would agree) but I do see things through to the end and don't back down from a challenge easily.
With Gryffindors, I wouldn't say brave as bravery is a variable thing under different circumstances. I would see Gryffindors as more bold, more willing to outwardly exhibit these traits.
I don't think Ravenclaws are necessarily 'smart' per se, Hermione is extremely intelligent but she isn't in Ravenclaw. I would elaborate but sadly my mind has gone blank XD.

And if you would like a good Sloth Analysis in terms of personality, the Daemon Forum has a very recent one in the most recent format here if you were interested ;)

And this was a really good picture I found!

that image is pretty cool :3
and you really look things through; i like that <33
so i talked to my mum (she knows me best) and i read that article you linked (thank you!! <33) and i've come to the conclusion that i don't think i'm a sloth. xD i think i'll keep with jackdaw. i don't think i'm really smart, in a logical way (only when it comes to digital drawing programs xD ;P), but i have (according to my mum xD) emotional intelligence because i'm quite good at guessing what other people think and can comprehend why people do things, and i am loyal to my friends (jackdaws are usually around others) and imo they can be pretty funny at times and i tend to have my crazy phases too ;D ^^ and i'll stop explaining now cuz it sounds stupid xD

Oh me! Oh life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew’d,
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here—that life exists and identity,

That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.
