The boy gently put Fuji down and went to the trap. "Hang in there..." He said, then after a few moments, opened the trap with his bare hands. He lifted the paw out of the trap and rummaged in his pocket for his first aid box. He opened it and took out a bandage wrap, then disinfected the wound with wound powder he had with him. He then wrapped the bandage around the damaged paw and stroked Chako. "It's okay. I won't hurt you." The boy smiled, trying to reassure Chako the best he could.

Ghost cocked his head at the kit, grabbing some bits in his jaws. He used his front paws to make it into a wrap and added some mashed up herbs to form a paste. He put it on Chako, smiling. He padded over to the child, nuzzling his upper body gently, so as to not seem aggressive.

Chako whimpered and licked the boy's cheek. He was the only human she ever met who had helped them.

"See, not all people are bad, are they?" The boy said quietly, gently stroking Ghost and Chako. He looked at the wrap Ghost had made and smiled. "You're pretty good." He suddenly remembered Fuji and went back to her. He scooped her up and looked at Chako. "Oh, what should I do?..There's no vet...Not here, anyway...."

Ghost pawed at the ground, smiling. He dug up some roots, squeesing them for their juice. He licked it up and gargled it, gross right? He spat it onto Fuji's wound before smearing the paste over her wounds. He looked aorund, trying to find something strong that could be used as binding.

"Wait, we need to get this stick out..." The boy said to Ghost, smiling at him. He took his bandage wrap out of his box of first aid kit and handed it to Ghost. "Try this."

Ghost wagged his tail, smiling. He grabbed the stick in his mouth and pulled gently, trying not to cause the pup more pain. Once it was out, he smoothened out the paste again and wrapped it up with the bandage. He secured it with some sticky honey, sprinkling it with something so it hardened quicker.
He looked up at the boy, quite proud of himself.

"You're great." The boy smiled down at him and stroked him gently down his back, then took off his jacket and put it over Fuji's shivering body to keep her warm. ((He still has a shirt on X3))

Suddenly, a big group of humans jumped out of a bush and surrounded the wolves, aiming guns at them. "Kid, get away, they're wild animals!" One of them shouted.
"They could have diseases!"
"They kill people!"
"They've gone mad!"

"No! They won't hurt you! See?" The boy stroked Ghost again, trying to show to them all that wolves were okay. But they wouldn't have it. One of them got impatient and fired at Ghost, but the boy quickly side-stepped in front of him. The boy fell backwards and landed on his back, a deep bullet wound in his leg.
"Get out of here, quick! Before anyone finds out!" They shouted, then ran out of sight again.

Ghost whined as the boy took the bullet for him. He nuzzled the injury, his way of testing it. He had to get it out somehow... "Chako. I need something to get the bullet out with!"

"Get out of here, before they come back..." The boy coughed, pushing Ghost away. His trousers were soaked with blood now and it looked horrible.
