"Well, Kiryu? We've extended your due date by nearly a month. If we don't get what we want, then we're going to have to get rid of you. Dispose of the weak links in the system." The shadow figure pressed a cold blade against the small teen's neck threateningly.

The teen began to shake-it was clearly obvious by these guys' language they meant what they said. "L-listen, I swear-one more week-"

The thug made a very gentle slice into his neck, causing a small cut. "For some reason, we don't believe you." He snapped, preparing to cut further.

[Dᴇᴀʀ Iɴsᴀɴɪᴛʏ]

Valic frowned at the sight and leaped down - landing gently on the large dumpster, though his landings made no sound to give him away. He - over the years - seemed to master landing feather like silent, and he seemed to be able to fly without a sound as well. He looked over the scene and stepped over - unsure of how he should end this or how he should get the young man away. He always had a little four or five year old, dying child as his little object of protection. So this - was like jumping three flights of stairs.

The teen could see another person fly down. His eyes, despite the danger he was in, widened, then turned regular again. Great-another angel. Just what I need.

Almost determined to show the other just what he was made of, the teen wriggled out of the thug's grip and smacked him upside the head with a wing that suddenly exploded out of his back. He then jumped up-with a boost from his wings-onto a porch, out of reach from the ruffians.

[Dᴇᴀʀ Iɴsᴀɴɪᴛʏ]

Valic watched for a moment before flying up to the roof above - lending down a hand towards the boy he were to watch, tilting his head a little. The black silk hair tilting to the side as well - following the movement before the wind blew roughly and shaking just about everything around it. "Hurry now - before they actually look over.' He called down to the boy - voice a bit deep and on the rough, shrill side.

The teen nodded, folding his wings against his back so they were practically invisible. Their dull silver matched the gray of his shirt. He raised a hand to feel the small cut on his neck, and winced when he drew it away to see blood. "I'm surprised they could see me...angels should be invisible to the average human."

Valic merely shrugged his shoulders softly while he looked at the other with a small frown, looking with half lidded eyes. "Are you alright? Do you need medical help?" Valic asked with furrowed brows, head tilted with long black hair swaying, the two braids moving to the side in time with his bangs and the rest of his hair.

The teen shook his head no, his hand still pressed firmly against his neck. "No, I'm fine. It's just a small thing, really." He held out his clean hand.

"The name's Yoshiya Kiryu, but seeing as you're my dear hero, you can call me Joshua."

Valic looked at the hand held out before him and scanned it over before looking at the other with calm half lidded eyes, holding his hand out as well and taking a grasp - giving a light shake. "Hello Yoshiya Kiryu, I'm Valic Alfonse Farriswarth. It's a pleasure to meet you, and I must say that you'll be the first that isn't an ill young child that I've had to watch over." Valic stated bluntly with the small tilt of his hand, retracting his hand and placing it in his pockets.

"An ill young child...?" Joshua murmured, drawing his hand back. "Last time I checked, I was an angel." The teen fluffed out his white wings, glancing at them.

Hm. Either it was a trick of the light or they seemed...more scarred and weaker. He looked back up at Valic and shrugged. "I guess I'm going to have to figure this out."

[Dᴇᴀʀ Iɴsᴀɴɪᴛʏ]

"What's wrong with your wings? And why are you with all the living? Are you guarding someone?" Valic asked with that tilt of his head, and yet he was confused - if this young man was guarding someone...then why was Valic guarding over him? Shaking it from his head - Valic reached a hand out to gently hold one of the withered looking wings that held some Angelic touches to it, still looked a bit healthy in his own eyes.
