She was talking to herself under her breath. Her head jerked up when she heard a crack and nearly jumped a foot of two forward. Calista listened again but hear nothing. She huffed and decided to see what was the cause of this sound. No noises came from her as she made her way in the direction she though it had come from. Soon the mare noticed a stallion admiring his damage to the tree and she couldn't help but grin. "And how bored must you be?" She asked a bit amused.

She stepped away happily prancing in place, excited to here about the stories. asking in anticipation and following in her brother's questioning footsteps her question darted out too "When?! i cant wait to hear them" she said after her mom had told Crius to wait.

He watched as Kassandra explained her exuse for being gone. *hmph* he let out a sarcastic sigh "What family stuff, aren't these two youngsters your family too" he said seriously his grin faltering. at least she said she'd tried to stay close, and was happy they were all fine. He had missed her though he thought to hold off on that proclimation till he knew where her and his feelings stood, after all she was an attractive mare, yet so was that Mother Soul he had left in the clearing, how rude of him to just run off like that he thought to himself. He still wanted her to introduce him and his family to the herd. Plus what had gotten into him, he had a family and now he was looking at other mares, he had no idea what was wrong with his head now, he didnt want a herd of his own, so why so much interest. Well he was a Flirt for sure, thats where he got his name. His grin returned but turned to smirk as he watched her look at the other kelpies he was with. "I ran into these guys, they were heading to meet the herd, thought i would tag along since i was too, it'd be good to get the kids into a herd where they are properly safe and can interact with young kelpies their age" he said making conversation "i was just talking to Mother Soul over there about it"

"We're all just stories in the end."

Kassandra chuckled to herself at her impatient foals. "Soon enough, Viatrix." She said with a small, forgiving smile, knowing how they must feel. They just couldn't help blurting out their questions. Just as Desiderius' grin dropped a bit as he addressed the fact that they were her family too, her smile slipped back so it was only a faint impression on her lips. "Of course all of you are still my family, but you're not my only family." She replied to his first statement before moving on to why he was with so many other kelpies. "Ah, I see." She began, a bit hesitant to continue. She eyed the kelpie he claimed he'd been talking to, the only true adult out of the bunch besides Desi. She also had grown up a loner, so having her kids in a herd was a strange idea. "I think it's a good idea," she finally continued, then decided to include the kids. "What do you guys think?" Kass asked Crius and Viatrix, her smile returning as she looked over them.

Speak his mind on the subject, that was exactly what Crius was going to do. He thought for a moment. "I think I should stay with you. Your more fun than anyone else and you always have stories to tell me." The colt told his mother and walked over to her side and stood there. He really meant this, if she were to leave again, he wouldn't be watching her he'd be with her the time around.

The stallion snorted slightly in annoyance. Of course he remembered what the mare had said: she was a loner looking for a herd. Or did she say something else, and he, being a rather anti-social kelpie, forgotten it? He looked away from her eyes. "I thought the point of the excercise was to see what I could read from you by looking at you. Not from the intel you gave me," he replied to her. His tone was slightly bitter. But he was trying not to look a fool in case she had told him anything else.

The stallion jolted at the sound of the mare's voice, a whinny escaping his throat. Worried that something maybe be watching him, he turned his head sharply towards the sound of the voice. His yellow eyes fixed on the mare. His ears pricked forward fully. The mare before his eyes certainly had striking markings! Her face, tail, mane, legs. They were as red as blood. Yet the rest of her coat was a soft sandy colour, like the soft, sandy soil on the edge of the bayou. Her green eyes were like the soft green of the canopy above them. Soft and delicate. The contrast between all these colours made Ashenfall slightly curious about the mare. He began leaning his neck towards her slightly... But, he thought back. He'd just jumped and whinnied like a colt infront of her. Quick as a flash, he straightened himself up to full height (or atleast tried to) and snorted with a sense of 'authority'. "What brings you to this part of the bayou, mare?" he whuffed heavily, trying to act like he was the boss. He wasn't going to let his embarrassment shine through. No way!!!

She watched him with curiousity and then laughed when he died to act like he was in control of the situation. "My name is not mare, its Calista. And what bring me here? I don't have an answer. But anyway. Why are you damaging that lovely tree with your horns?" She asked with a amused smiled. Calista found him a bit funny with his recovery but she didn't say it. Calista looked him over once, almost as if she was looking past him but she just made it that conspicuous. Calista was a bit unsettled his switching behavior and tone of authority and it didn't show.

The stallion swished his tail angrily as the mare laughed at him. He did not take offence well at all! he also found the fact that she seemed to look straight past him slightly offensive. As if he were not worth looking at. The cheek! "Well, 'Castila'," he snorted in reply, growing more and more flustered as he tried to mask him embarrassment from earlier, "I am bored." He turned his head and looked back up at the gash in the side of the mighty tree. His mere scratch was nothing compared to the size of the tree. It's height reached far beyind the canopy they stood beneath now. Even the lower branches were only visible. "Besides," the stallio nickered, after calming down slightly, "what else can a kelpie stallion sharpen his antlers on?"

She frowned and pinned her ears slightly. He was getting angry with her it seemed and it as putting the soft-spoken mare on edge. She didn't speak, almost as if he had offended her but finally she said something. "We'll boredom can cause a lot of things. Though I guess that's the reason then." She told him before her ears returned to their alert position. Calista watched Ashenfall for a moment more before turnig her gaze upward. "I guess I came across as rude, I'm sorry.
