Snake looked back at her and flicked his ear. Though Snake could generally be labeled as a goof, he definitely did have a side, just as equally represented, or perhaps more, in his daily endeavors. Zoe hadn't seen this characteristic yet; his responsible seriousness. Snake was often rather efficient and smart, and only broke down to goof around when he figured he had time for it. His mother had warned him early on that he could not afford to relax and play around in his environment, and so Snake learned to mask part of his personality and develop another that'd serve him better. If a cat met him and he almost instantly became goofy, then kudos to them; something about them felt alright and nonthreatening to Snake. But, with the storm approaching, the white tom began to feel the urge to find shelter, and quickly. His blue-and-yellow eyes scanned the small clearing that flanked the pool, searching for a bush or tree that could serve as protection from the elements. He padded forward without warning and disappeared into brush, assuming that Zoe would have no problem following his scent.
Somewhere behind the rider you've become, the hours of practice you've put in, the coaches who pushed you, the hard falls you've taken, the money you've spent, the miles you've hauled, the sweat, the tears, the blood, the blisters, the ripped jeans, the lame horse, the crazy horse, the "are you serious?" horse, and everything in between... Somewhere behind all of that is the fearless kid who fell in love with the sport, the horse, the life, and never looked back.

Snake pricked his ears forward, scanning the clumped, brushy area ahead of him. As his yellow and blue eyes searched, he was slightly alarmed to feel droplets of water increasing in speed fall along his pelt. He ventured forward for a few good minutes, the rain increasing in severity even by the minute. By the time his gaze settled on a tree with a hollowed out bottom, Snake was squinting badly and his fur felt plastered to his frame. He approached cautiously, for the rain that'd fallen in his search for shelter could have very well washed away the scent of another animal sheltering in the hollowed-out tree. As he peeked into the tree, he found that it was vacant, and he gratefully slipped into the shelter. He looked out, figuring that Zoe would pop into his field of vision in a minute or two.

Snake watched the drenched she-cat stumble pass the tree he was sheltering in. Snake knew she wasn't entirely comfortable with him, but in a storm this size, Snake figured she didn't have the opportunity to be uncomfortable with him. There wasn't any way to find another shelter without getting so wet that she'd catch something horrible. If she was even a little bit sane, she'd respond to him and take shelter with him. "Hey, Zoe, over here!"

The soaked white tom-cat was relieved to find that Zoe wasn't horrified at the prospect of sharing a den with him, and because of that, Snake returned her slight grin. Perhaps if he wasn't chilled to the bone, he would've grinned more. But, as it was, Snake was trying hard to stop shivering. He looked about him, and to his great relief, he found that a large amount of moss was growing on the inside of the hollow tree. What were the chances of that? He began to edge towards the moss, unsheathing his claws so that he could cut off bedding for himself as Zoe neared the shelter.{Alex}

The black tom-cat wandered the alley-ways, the rain slicking his fur to his frame. If he hadn't been so desperate for food, Alex would've been hiding in his small shelter a good few alley-ways away. But, as it was, Alex had decided that it was likely a better idea to try and find something to eat than risk all of the side effects of malnourished that could very well take over the tom's body if he didn't find food soon.

She watched Dagger, she felt like a fool for asking to fast. She didn't deserve a mate.
