James looked at John, "Yeah... I... I guess so.." He took a deep breath and pointed a figer at the door, "That dog had a collar," He shook his head in an up and down yes motion, "Yeah, he must have been someones pet here."

Lorena run up beside Gregory and giggled the door. He was right. She looked around for a window or another door or something they could use. There was a window to the right of the door but it was locked to. And breaking the window would mean attracting more of those things. "Maybe there's a back door... Or something."

Maria ate the fruit and smiled as she finished setting down the can. She looked up seeing a cat in the back yards. She went over to the back door. "It's a kitten." She said with a smile.
Andrew jumped up pulling away Maria from the door. "Maria, leave it be." He said seeing the cat was not normal.
"But it'll die out there." She cried.

"Well, should we leave it, or put it out of its misery?" John asked slowly as he stared at the door and listened to the dog pace back and forth on the other side.

"Yeah, let me check." Gregory ran around the other side of the house there was a big fence, "Crap," He took a couple steps back then ran and jumped up grabbing the top of the fence and pulling himself up and over, he ran to the back door it was unlocked, quickly ran through the house not taking the time to check the rooms to the front door, he unlocked the door and let Lorena in.

Adam grabbed a can of beef stew and opened it, "Its ok Maria, look Ill give it some food." He quickly opened the back door a jar and placed the can there and quickly closed the door again and locked it. He hoped Maria would believe that this would help the cat even though he knew it wasnt going to eat the soup. Adam looked back at Maria, "We cant bring it in cause.... um.. cuase Im allergic Maria." He said quickly, hoping she would buy it, he didnt like to lie but if it was going to keep her safe he would.

James looked up at John, "It be the right thing to do...." he quickly adjusted the strap on his guitar and griped his pocket knife in one hand.

Maria calmed down as she watched the cat walk around. She looked up at Adam, "The kitten won't get eaten will he?" She asked. It may be to late for the kitten but she felt bad for the poor thing. She looked down as Andrew let go of her. He stood up and shut the curtains the cat no longer in view. Maria still sat quietly. "Why does the world have to be so cruel, why do we feel this pain. Is it punishment? But some don't need to feel hurt." She said talking quietly.

John nodded and grabbed the door knob. "one... Two... Three." He opened the door quickly and looked at the dog. It snarled and snapped its decaying jaws before it lunged forward at John, but John put his knife out in front of him, and the dogs ran straight into it.

Adam looked at his pack once more, "I think we should pack some supplies... you guys should pack your bags too." He slunck off to the bathroom upstairs to grab the first aid kit.

James flinched and then took his pocket knife and stabbed it into the top of the dogs head, he stood up and wiped the knife clean on his pants, "You know what this means dont you?"

John pushed the dog off his knife and looked up to James. "That the owners are likely to be near?" He asked with a sigh.

"That," James said, "and if they have a dog, then this whole complex allows pets..." He sighed and helped John to his feet, "So theres no telling how many infected animals are in this building."
