As Rainpaw padded through the forest he heard mews of comfort, Sunpaw's voice, he stopped. There was Sunpaw and Flintpaw laying together in a clearing, near some graves.

"That doesn't mean they can't watch over you." mewed Sunpaw, looking at Flintpaw with sorrow in her eyes.

Blackhaze entered and sat near the entrance. "I was thinking maybe we should make the rogue kits apprentices... I myself would be honored to mentor the tom, Hawk... right now, they're just extra mouths but if you make them apprentices then Hawk can hunt for Sky and help feed the elders as well, at least until Sky is better when she can help him hunt..." he trailed off, having made his case for their apprenticeships.

Rainpaw felt unease prickle through his pelt as he watched the two together, Sunpaw likes him, he thought, sadness gripped him like he was being attacked by a huge dog, so hard he felt light-headed, he lost his footing and fell to the ground, his head throbbing, heart-broken, that the she-cat he had liked for moons and moons had finally chosen who she wanted as a mate. This ran through his head again and again.

Sunpaw looked around. "Rainpaw...?" she padded over to him. "What's wrong?" she asked, bending down to look at him worriedly.

"I-I'm fine.." Rainpaw meowed then tried to get up.

Sunpaw licked his ear. "Need help with that?" she asked, propping him up with her shoulder so he could get to his paws.

Rainpaw was silent, but let her help him.

"Are you sure you're ok, Rainpaw?" asked Sunpaw, worry in her voice about Rainpaw's unusual silence.

Rainpaw looked at her worried eyes, "Well.. the truth is... I-uh-I'm not sure.." he mewed quietly, "I was also wondering how you Flintpaw and I would sit our vigil tonight," he lied.
