Sugar looked at the kit, smiling. Sky, the first kit to open her eyes! Sugar gently took her back, smiling as Dawn and then Sun opened their eyes as well. The kit-blue shined out beautifully, and Sugar grinned. "One of them will have their father's eyes, I just know it." She said sweetly.

Honeyleaf gazed out at the lake, her heart broken and shattered beyond repair. She looked into the distant woods, debating another suicide attempt. Only now Sparrowpelt wouldn't be able to save her. She checked to see if anyone was watching, but saw no one. She didn't necessarily want to kill herself, but she wanted to feel the strange shock once more. She needed it.

"So you do love me!" she exclaimed, twining her tail with his. "All this while, I thought you didn't love me. I sat in den for moons thinking that!" she said, not able to keep out her purrs.

Pepper nodded. "I'm sure he was a good cat."

Sugar grinned. "The best. His name was Kiran, and he was the most handsome, sweet, loving cat I've ever known. His fur was as silver as twoleg metal, and his eyes were the most stunning gold." She sighed, happy to be visiting old memories once again.

Pepper's own sun-amber eyes sparkled, but not with happiness. His old mate hadn't loved him after she was taken to the cutter. His sleek, silver and gray shades tabby coat that usually lay relaxed tensed.

Sugar looked at Pepper, frowning. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. My old memories aren't as sweet as yours." he said, still remembering his mate before she was taken to the cutter.

"Sparrowpelt!" Dappledflight purred, hulling herself to her paws, racing over to meet him. She didn't care if he didn't want to lover her, she pressed her face against his and leaned against him.
