What date did you register as a CS member?: July 02, 2010 at 1:13 AM
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 13599 posts
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: Every day of the week.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: If on a weekday, 7+ hours (As I have school from Monday-Friday, from around 8:45 to about 3:30 - I am in Central Standard Time, so our times will most likely be different), if on a weekend - or any day I am home all day - probably around 10+ hours. I'm almost always on CS.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: If you mean not as a real staff member, I did a bit when I was a younger member, but I don't go on many threads that require moderation.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: Yep. I'm not the best artist however, so I mostly colour in linearts/do rough sketches.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: I spend almost all of time on the oekaki board to look there. I will occasionally draw/colour in linearts, but I'm mostly there to look at art.
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: I think it'd be a great oppurtunity to be an oekaki moderator, and I believe I'd be pretty good at it. This is a simple, yet such a complicated question.. I think it'd be fun to be part of the team, and I love helping people, so I think I'd be a good person for the job.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required)?: I'm told I'm a wonderful problem-solver, and I can speak some different languages. I'm a very helpful, calm person. In real life I can get angry often, but I can handle things extremely well nonetheless, especially over the computer. I usually go out of my way to help others, and I'm told I'm a leader, not a follower. I always think before I say/type something, and I always think of the most logical thing to do before I act. I think ahead, and as I said, I believe I'm a really helpful person. I may get angry somewhat easily, and somewhat often, but I always try my best to keep calm in bad situations. I'm good at calming people down, and I believe I'm good at saying the right things. I also know of all the oekaki rules on CS, and am familiar with every oekaki tool (and what they do/how to use them), the oekaki boards, etc etc. Thanks for the oppurtunity, and congratulations in advance to the people who are chosen!

What date did you register as a CS member?:
Thu Nov 20, 2008 3:03 pm

How many posts have you made in the forum:
4220

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?:
Typically seven.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?:
I would say anywhere from one to five hours, but two and and a half is most likely the norm on weekdays; on weekends it can go up to four hours.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them:
Not on any official forums, no; but I have mini-modded on two adoptable shops and their remakes, as well as one roleplay.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?:
Yes, quite often. It's my go-to art program and is my second favorite to use.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?:
Yes - tons of time, to be honest. I tend to quietly stalk artists and I enjoy commenting on drawings that don't get much attention. Browsing the oekaki boards can always cheer me up, because there's just so much amazing art there.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?:
I'd love to be able to give back to this site. I've been on CS for more than four years now, and the people here have helped me get through so much. Plain and simple, I want to be able to help.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position:
Well...I suppose I'm well-versed in using ChibiPaint and I feel like I'm a fairly good judge of art. I'm also an extraordinarily calm person and it takes a lot to perturb me. I've never mediated officialy, but I have tried to soothe several situations here on CS. I'm not anyone special, though. I'm just a average user, like everyone else.

I wish everyone the best of luck!

What date did you register as a CS member?:
    Sun Mar 27, 2011 10:49 am

How many posts have you made in the forum:
    7263

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?:
Everyday, unless school- or housework gets in the way.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?:
Probably minimum 4. I'm on here with my phone when I'm at school and I'll randomly check stuff throughout the day. When I get home I'm on my laptop for a couple hours at least and always have a tab of CS open, even if I'm doing something unrelated. Then I'll get off and I'll be checking my phone randomly again. Before bed, I'll be on here on my Kindle or Laptop for at least another hour or two. On the weekends, I'll be on more often due to not being at school.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them:
On official forums, no. I have not had the opportunity to do so yet.

I have been a 'mod' for a few roleplays on CS myself or a friend has created. I don't have the links anymore to most as they all died a while ago and it'd be difficult for me to find them and drag them back from the grave. I do have this one though, here, I haven't done much there yet as it's still a new thread and not much has required my attention.
I am also in charge of The Dreamie Den, linked here. I moderate there and give those who break my rules warnings. I have had to ask people to refrain from posting there before due to their rule breaking. Once I had to have Komi lock it for me because of how ridiculous the rule breaking/spam was getting. I may have to do so again soon..
I am now in charge of the Art Wishes thread, linked here. It is a sort of art gifting game. There I moderate by giving warnings to those who post when forms are closed, post characters that do not belong to them/are copyright, spam the thread, are disrespectful, etc.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?:
I have used it before, yes. I am familiar with the program but I don't use it all that often as I prefer to draw with Photoshop.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?:
Yes, quite often. I love art and love to look at all the creative works there. I look there to get ideas to help me to improve my own artwork as well.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?:
I want to help. Ever since I about 2 years ago, I've always wanted to have some sort of position on CS where I can help out. I have only applied for one position that has been open previously because before I did not think I was ready to do so. Now, I think I have enough experience on CS to help out well. I admit, I do have a couple small warnings of Art Theft as you know. They were stupid little things that I'm honestly embarrassed to have gotten in trouble for. I am deeply sorry for all of those things. They were all little slip ups on my part for simply not reading something well enough or completely forgetting a rule or forgetting to give credit. I don't think any were particularly serious offences, though that's for you to decide not me, and one was cleared by Tess. I have learned well from them and have done my absolute best to not make such mistakes since. I now believe that I am familiar enough with the rules of CS to be a help to the team here. I want to make sure all the rules of CS are followed and I want to help people to not make the same mistakes I have and if they do, I want to help them learn from them as I did so as not to make such mistakes in the future. I am very organized and somewhat OCD when it comes to organization. That being said, spammy and inappropriate posts tend to jump out at me and I always want to do something about them. This position would give me the opportunity to do something to help clean up CS by removing or editing or moving or whatever it is I need to do to take care of such posts. I love to help out in any way I can and this would be a great honor for me to be able to help out by being chosen to be a CS Oekaki Moderator.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position:
I am dedicated to what I do and have gotten rather strict as far as rules go. I am strict about rules being followed on the threads I've ran in the past and on all the little threads I've been in charge of or a mini-mod for in the past and currently. If someone is breaking a rule, something gets done about it. I won't just look the other way. I am fair. I won't be more or less harsh with one person than I am with another breaking a rule. I am not mean about it though. If someone is doing something that goes against the rules, I will be polite when I talk to them about it. I am very good at settling arguments. I do this almost daily it seems among people at school. I am fair and open-minded and I will hear everyone's side of the story before deciding on what should be done to resolve a situation, should one arise. I don't know if these are the particular skills you're looking for, but they are qualities about me that I think might be important for a position such as this. Also, I don't know how important it is seeing as this site is mostly English based and it might not matter much on the Oekaki boards but I do know a bit of Spanish. x3

I thank you for the opportunity of trying out for this position. Though I do of course hope I am chosen, I understand completely if others are chosen over me as I know there are many users that are qualified for such a position. Thank you again for giving me the chance ♥

1.What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 6 months ago, do not apply) Oct. 28, 2012, but I have had 2 accounts before that got the password lost. My other accounts were "wolfluvva" and "aemg01" but I lost both of the passwords. I've been on CS for about 2 years collectively with my other accounts (That I lost. :'( I was very sad when I lost them.). If you can check the IP addresses, they will mostly be the same except for some of my past accounts, because my father got a new (Modem, I think it's called. Not sure. *shrug*).

2.How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply) 498 posts, about to be 499.

3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Usually every day unless I have something planned or if something comes up.

4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? I usually spend 2-4 hours on CS collectively almost evey day unless I have special plans. Sometimes I spend even more time on CS.

5.Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: No, I haven't.

6.Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes, many times before.

7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Yes, many times. Getting to be an Oekaki moderator would make me do that MUCH more.

8.Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: Because Others tell me I am good at handling tough situations and I have successfully calmed down friends who wanted to move schools and felt unsafe and like they had no friends. I talked them out of it. Also, I think it would be great to help out on Chicken Smoothie.

9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position: I am good at getting others to calm down. I am very strict with rules, but not hostile about it. If I was hostile, that would drive members away, and each and every member is very special. I never forget manners, and I know how to handle someone who is difficult. I don't judge people for who they are or what they've done, but what they are doing at the moment and their personality. I don't get jealous (Though I'm not sure that would help becoming an Oekaki moderator.

Thank you for this opportunity, and I do hope I'm chosen, but I will be happy for those who are chosen even if I'm not, or even if I possibly am.

What date did you register as a CS member?: Saturday Dec 25, 2010

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 1,077

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: Every day c:

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: As much as possible. Generally 3 hours on school days just surfing around oekaki and forums, but much more on weekends.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: I was a moderator on my friend's role-playing website a couple years back but i'm fairly certain its been deleted.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: Yes, frequently.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: Yes, very often. I love looking at the different skill levels and styles.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: With this position, I would hope to improve the family safety of chicken smoothie without offending other users, or putting them on the defensive. I want to be a positive influence on this website and to it's users. I'de also love to help younger users understand and enjoy the site more. I really enjoy browsing art, so it would be great to be able to help out around the oekaki boards. Overall I would like to help create an ideal setting on the oekaki boards i.e. moving posts appropriately, dealing with art theft, enforcing rules, and anything else i can do to help out.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required):
As a long-term member of CS (here since 2010) I have made many drawings, met many people, and seen lots of different opinions and situations. My friends say I do well in stressful situations, and I have never really been biased when it comes to an argument. Kind at heart, my friends say it's impossible for me to hurt anyone. Many say I am also mature for my age. It's impossible for me to get hurtful or defensive, even in stressful situations. I was a peer-mediator at my school from grades 4-6 so i'de also like to think i have a bit of experience in settling disputes and helping others. In addition to these things i have a fair amount of experience with oekaki and i'm not uncomfortable with any offensive images that i may encounter.

What date did you register as a CS member?:
July 27th, 2011. About a year and a half ago.
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
    4326
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
    Seven days per week.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Roughly three or four hours a day. Longer on weekends.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
I was a chat moderator here for a few months.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
    Yes, on multiple occasions.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
All the time. Especially the Sketches and Experiments board. I love looking at artwork, and something about sketches pulls me to them. Not sure why.
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I like working with people, and I know the Oekaki rules very well. I like to help people; having this job would ensue helping people get to know the rules, helping people get justice for art theft, and ultimately making the Oekaki boards a better place for everyone. Ever since I first joined Chicken Smoothie, I've wanted to be able to help in some way other than mini modding a thread or two. Now that I have a chance, it's incredibly exciting for me. With the job I currently hold, I get to help kids, and I absolutely love it. This makes me sure that this is something I want to do.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?
Well, I worked as a chat moderator for a while, and I'm good at calming people down and keeping things under control. I like things to be calm and pain free, so I suppose I've just learned how to make that happen. I don't have a temper or anything, so I won't get mad at people irrationally.
Thank you for this chance, and good luck all.

I just made it c:

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply)
2144 and counting!
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
I normally visit chicken smoothie 7 days a week. I am some what addicted to it XD It is one of favorite web sites and I would love to take part and be part of the staff. Note this is normally. Sometimes I do go on vacation.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
I normally spend at least two hours a day on chicken smoothie. Sometimes even more!I am mostly on at night though, rather than the morning. On the weekend I try to spend more time then that on chicken smoothie.Again please note this is normally sometimes I travel or go on vacation.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
I am a moderator on another website. It is called Mary Sue. I enjoy moderating that website because I feel I make a change and help keep the website safe! Being a mod is also a great responsibility as well though, but I do enjoy it!
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes, yes I have! I use sketchbook pro more but I can defiantly use oekaki more. I had not updated my Java in awhile back then. I updated it and have now started to use oekaki more. I have learned how to use the oekaki settings more as well, it is actually very fun!
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
I cant say I have until most recently. You see I most recently started to have a serious intrest in art. So I look at the art to get inspiration. it really does help. I have a deviant art. I look through the art on there as well.
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
Now that I have a more serious intrest in art I thought it would be a good thing to moderate an art bored. Along to the responsibilities of moderting the oekaki board it would also help me draw better. I am a visual processer so while looking through the oekaki boards I would see the art and probably improve my own art. I want to help all of those artists who use the oekaki who have had their art stolen. It is a shame people steal art but it is reality and someone has to help stop it. There are probably some new artists out there who may be bullied when the post there first piece of art. They need an someone to help them. I could be that person.I feel that when I am moderating on mary sue it make a difference. It makes me feel good. I would like to feel this way on here as well. Ever since I joined I dreamed of being an artist on here. I know that will not happen any time soon but hey Oekaki Moderater is great as well! I want to be a help on here. I want to make a difference. The experience could help me in my future.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?)
I cant say that I have "A ton" of experience using the oekaki program but I defiantly have some. As said before I am a global moderator on a new website called mary sue. As most new moderators know it is tough getting their first job as mod. But as time goes on we adjust and get better. If you give me the chance I assure you I will do well at this job and exceed your expectations. I promise I will take this job very seriously. I am pretty good with breaking up fights as well.
Thank you's
This is my little place to say thank you.I would like to say thank you for the amazing opportunity. I never dreamed of even applying for a job on chicken smoothie! I would also like to say thank you for the amazing opportunity. Hey but if I dont get the job, congrats to those who did! ^-^ May I request something if I do get the job? May I have a partner in crime? Otherwise known as another oekaki moderator that I can work with.

Re: Oekaki Moderator Applications NOW OPEN

Postby Berkshire » Fri Mar 01, 2013 12:14 pm

Hah! I've been waiting for these to open up, this has been my dream position since a few months after I joined!

What date did you register as a CS member?:
Mon Jan 31, 2011 (2 years, 1 month, and 27 days.)

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
3407

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
7
7, with an occasional day off. Most of the time I I hang around and look but don't comment on anything, browsing pages and pages, just seeing what is to be seen and enjoying the artwork. (I hang around the Oekaki Forums the most)

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
4-5
4 or more if you were to add it up, sometimes as many as 6 if I don't have any plans that day! Though that mostly happens on weekends. I have a lot more time than others my age.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
Only individual topics.
Not for any large forum or fan base I'm afraid, unless being the sibling peace-keeper counts! I have acted as a moderator/atist for several adoptables, including CS Rattery. The most mod-like work I have done is working with the users in My shop, enforcing rules and settling disputes. I'm afraid I can't claim experience moderating something as big as Oekaki, but I feel I am certainly capable.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes. My absolute favorite thing to do here!
Oekaki has been my gateway into digital drawing, it has taught me how to shade, how to edit, how to enjoy my art. To join in an artist community, something I've never had the pleasure of before I came here. Even though Oekaki is not very advanced, it was perfect for a beginner like me. I loved discovering and learning new tips and tricks through my own experience and from others, and love to pass these things on to learning members. The basic digital art tips I picked up here can be used in other more advanced programs, and even all the way back to traditional drawing!

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Oh yes! Oekaki is my go-to forum!
Whenever I get bored, it's the oekaki boards for me! I think my favorite is probably the editable oekaki boards, with intermediate following close behind. I get a little annoyed seeing color-ins in the editable oekaki forum, but not so annoyed I need to say anything. The oekaki boards are what CS means to me. If it weren't for them, I never would have been hooked. The wonderful medium of art opened my eyes to a thriving, supportive, online community. It's this community I love! I spend almost all my time on CS with my nose buried somewhere in the vast art forums, looking, seeing, and occasionally giving critique where I have something to offer.
And then those times when I see a masterful artist's work, takes my breath away! Though many of us here are children, we look around, giving a helping hand, bringing some users up to our level, and looking on others with awe, saying, "That's what I want to be when I grow up."

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
Love the site so much, I want to contribute.
To help keep my favorite place neat and organized. The oekaki is a wonderful place for beginning and expert artists alike to grow and learn together. Anything I can do to clean up and improve this place is my goal! I feel a little regretful when I see things in the wrong forum, or when an amazing picture sits in beginners (silly artists, when will you learn?), and would love to do my part to set things right. One thing I've noticed is the unfortunate tendency of oekaki threads going way off topic, or turning very sour, somewhere in the comments. As an oekaki moderator, I would have the ability to clean up those messes and set the boards right again, making the oekaki and fun and enjoyable place for everyone.
I'd like to thank Chicken Smoothie once again for creating a community where young artists like me an grow and learn together. This family friendly site, for creating and sharing alike, was just what I needed to set me on the path toward a career in art. I am truly thankful for the wonderful creators, moderators, and users that make this place a community. I would love to give back to them all by serving as a new Oekaki Moderator, and help watch over my favorite place on the internet.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?)
Extensive oekaki experience.
2,000 pounds of experience is a little much, but I suppose I could claim "plenty". No I do not draw constantly, but I do experiment with every new picture I make! Whether it be layer types, pressure solutions, file sizes, I've seen a lot. I'm able to help almost anyone who needs it to figure out something about that program, and give general art tips as well! Yeah, I know a ton about how to use the program, but not everything. You learn something new every day!

.............
Well, that's my spiel, whether I'm one of the right choices for the job or not, you'll still see me hovering over the oekaki boards, doing at what I love with my fellow aspiring artists, observing, creating, and helping whenever I can.
Thanks for the opportunity!

    - What date did you register as a CS member?: I joined on July 30th, 2011.
    - How many posts have you made in the forum: I have made 6387 posts.
    - How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: I try to get on every day, but sometimes when my WiFi is out, I get on my mobile. Also, sometimes my dad hogs the laptop and I can only make posts on my mobile, but I really try my best to get on every day.
    - How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: Heh, well... Depending on my schedule, my time on CS ranges from an hour and a half at the least to seven or eight hours. Usually seven or eight in the summertime, though.
    - Have you moderated on any other forums before?: No... well, not yet, I hope. c:
    - Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: All the time! I would be now, but my tablet is broken.
    - Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: That's actually what I do a lot. I like to see other people's art and admire it. c:
    - Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: I just love the Oekaki here, and I think it is a very nice environment to post your art.
    - Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?: Having used the Oekaki a lot, I know just about everything about the Oekaki. Though I sometimes forget silly things, like how to move things around, I would be willing to figure it out to help someone. I'd be willing to do that, moderator or not. c:

I'd love to help out the team, especially around the art that I love so much. Thank you for your consideration. x
