Rookie wagged his tail happily as the dog thanked him, seeming truly grateful. He loved to lend a helping paw to any dog he could, and that moment was just one of many. He lay down to eat his share, quickly shredding it up in his powerful jaw, savoring the taste of the still warm meal with his eyes closed in joy. He let out a sigh of contempt as he finished his hot dog, licking his lips in hope that there was still more to come; but of course there wasn't.

His eyes flew open as a barked ripped through the air; not far from them either. He looked down the alley as Cracker barked in reply, and the approaching figure started going off in a frenzy of barks. Eventually, the dog reached them, and looked to what seemed to be her friend as he crashed into Rocky. Rookie smiled in amusement, his tail twitching as the dog apologized. His gaze jumped back to Cracker as she replied, noting 'I believe you ran into us...' The male obviously picked up on Cracker's nervousness, by claiming he would not hurt them.

Rookie looked again at Flame, dipping his head slightly in greeting. "Hello..." he replied in greeting; even though Flame had not directly been talking to him. He always felt the need to introduce himself first, so he smiled and cocked his head before attempting to start a conversation. "I'm Rookie... And this is Killer," he noted, glancing over at the German Shepherd he had recently befriended.

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

Killer didn't waste time in taking his pick of the hot dogs. He quickly nabbed one of the halves, and began to devour it hungrily; basically swallowing the hot dog whole. A few seconds later when he had finished, he looked up, licking his lips in happiness at the meager meal. He swore that was the best hot dog he'd tasted in a long time, and he regretted sharing it. He glanced around at all the dogs near him, eyeing them carefully, as if expecting them to say something.

Then a bark screamed through the air, and Killer whipped his head around to stare at the oncoming figure, his neck fur rising in surprise. The dog behind him barked in reply, and then the figure that was slowly making out to be another dog, starting setting off in a series of barks. Before the dog reached them, Killer whipped around again to a colliding sound, and Rocky and a new dog tumbling to the ground. Killer rolled his eyes. Killer allowed himself to relax as he figured these dogs not to be a threat, taking a seat while letting out a slight annoyed sigh.

He ignored the conversation floating through the air, and instead began to daydream of hot dogs. They were everywhere, falling from the sky! By the hundreds! No, MILLIONS! Enough for everyone; full stomachs for all! He quickly caught one falling from the sky, chewing hungrily at the delicious meal. He found himself licking his lips yet again, still daydreaming as the dogs continued to babble.

Dakota had finished his quarter of a hot dog, and still found himself starved. He shook his fur as he heaved himself to a stand, and thought of his next location to find food. He decided the local park; the garbage cans were always full there! He bounded off, his paws clicking against the pavement as he dashed off for the park.

After only a minute or two, Dakota's paws slowed to a walk. Soft grass swished in the breeze that ruffled Dakotas' fur, sending him into relaxation. It was so peaceful at the park. No one was there to chase him off either, which only made everything better. He briskly padded to the first garbage can, hopping up onto two paws, his front paws hanging over the can's rim as he scanned the pile for food. There was not much there, just an old diaper and a few peanut shells; nothing that would help with the pain in his stomach. Moving on to the second, Dakota was luckier and found some leftovers from a recent picnic; fairly fresh and satisfying.

As Dakota approached the third can, he noticed a dog beneath the bench that the garbage sat next to. He paused, looking at the dog with his head cocked to the side. He shook his head, and headed for the dog; keeping his head low so that his eyes could stay glued to the dog. He eventually reached her, and tilted his head again in curiosity. "What are you doing down there? I'd think it'd be uncomfortable, isn't it?" he asked, sitting in the grass that had become silent with the dying breeze. There was nothing more than dirt and pebbles underneath the bench; making it not a desirable place to rest in Dakota's eyes. Still, maybe this dog didn't mind it, and found it quite enjoyable!

Jasmine kept close to the brick wall, staring up wide eyed in shock as person by person passed her by. Where was Jordan!? She'd surely be back by now! Her owner had dropped her off nearby this building the night before, but she hadn't come back! What was she to do! Without her owner, how was Jasmine going to survive!? No food, not shelter; just the concrete and a never ending city. A whimper escaped her throat as no one paid more than a glance to her. Did they not see she was lost? Or worse, Jordan was lost!

She needed to search for her owner or a way back home, but her collar had snagged on a clip of metal jutting out from the wall. She was stuck, and there was nothing she could do but stare helplessly up at the people that didn't seem to give a darn about her or the next dog in line. She whined again, looking for some strand of hope that this was all a dream; that this wasn't happening. But it was, and it became more and more obvious as time passed by, and still no one had cared enough to at the least set her free.

She started to howl, a whining, distressed howl that would maybe draw some attention to her. Maybe there was a dog nearby, one that could help her! Little did she know, that there were nastier, bloodthirsty dogs on the street than she realized; and they could be coming her way now, all because she couldn't keep her whiney mouth shut!

Venus
Venus walked down the empty, cracked sidewalk. The sun beating down on her thin, black fur. She paused, slinking over to a shop, taking comfert in the shade. She got some looks from humans, even some tried to come close. But the Saluki veered away before they could touch her.

The click click or Venus' nails clicking agaisnt the concrete stopped. She closed her eyes and inhaled again. Even though she had enjoyed a small breakfeast of eggs and bacon, the tantalizing smell of hot dogs smelled good. But looking across to the hot dog vendor, she shook her head. She didn't beg from humans. In fact, she dispised them. A human ditched her. So she wouldn't waste her time on one. Her head locked on another sorce of hot dog smells, along that with dogs. She took off towards the smell, carfull to keep her nails from the concrete. She slowed, scenting way more then one or two dogs. The Salukia turned down the alley, finding a select group of dogs. Venus stuck to the wall as she made her way toward the dogs, her claws not touching the ground. She moved towards a Germen Shephered{Killer}, who seemed to be sticking not that close to the rest of the dogs. She sat about ten feet away from the dog. "Hi. How did you get that hog dog?" The female asked, switching her gaze to the dog.

Aleixo
The Afghan Collie pranced from one shop to another. He wasn't looking for his owner, as the human had ditched him a few years ago. Aleixo searched his mind for her name. He had worked so hard to forget about the human female. Ashley. That was her name. The dog didn't stress about her any more, he could take care of himself.

Sticking his black head into the open door, Aleixo's Collie mix tounge rolled out as he panted. His stomach rumbled, giving out the reason why he was looking into the shops. It was lunch time for the humans, so it would be dinner for him. Instead of a human shooing him out of the shop, a howl entered the dog's ears. Aleixo backed away from the shop, looking across the street to where the the howl filled with whines came from. He crossed the street, making sure those things that humans moved around in where gone. He approched the puppy{Jasmine}, which looked like one of those golden dogs, mixed with something else. "Hi there sweety." He said softly, hunkering hismelf down so he didn't seem so tall to the pup.

Cracker looked at Rookie, Flame, and her paws. She swallowed. These dogs claimed they wouldn't hurt her... She decided to do what she did in Nam - to be as open and kind and patient, but still as aloof as she could be. "I'm... Cracker," she said shyly again. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Killer wanting more hot dog. As he ate it, she noticed the look of Heaven on Earth in his eyes. Her stomach growled and demanded she take it, but her heart told her otherwise. Rick had always said and been told to "Trust his intuition." Cracker was going to trust hers. She looked around Rocky and yipped to get Killer's attention. "Yap! Yiff!"

((Sorry guys!))

Flame- "Oh, I'm Flame". His tone was nice, and calm. He threw his head to Aki and narrowed one eye. She knew what that means, it means, (Its ok to come closer). He smiled and then put his attention on Cracker, the kind German Shepherd. He cocked his head and threw his head to a nearby hot dog man. He smiled and then ran to it, did his puppy face, got couples of hot dogs, then ran back, and sat down. He let the hot dogs to the females first then the males. He chomped up his and sighed, the warmth of the hot dog filled his belly, as he sat down one foot away from Cracker.

Aki- She nodded and came closer to the group. She sat down 1 foot away from Flame. She ate her hot dog Flame gave her and swallowed it, she was starving! She sighed, as the warmth of the hot dog filled her belly too. She looked into the sky, hearing a howl. She howled back and then looked at her paws, she layed down. She then looked at Cracker, and said, "Hi, I'm Aki". She sniffed the air and smiled.

Rocky didn't move much as the dog came charging into him. He made a low yet terrifying growl deep in his throat. Rookie and his friend, Killer were nice and offered food so would not attack them but this mutt can't just race into him and say nothing. "I wouldn't do that if I was you..." he growled in his deep, emotionless tone. He felt his fur stand on end and didn't want to fight this dog but if he had to, he would. This rottweiler takes no chances on anyone. He ignored his hotdog that was laying infront of Rookie and just glared at the other dogs that met him , Cracker and their new friends.

Scarlett lifted her head again, this time remembering the low bench and kept her head low, just hovering off the ground. She faced towards another, larger Australian Shepherd which appeared to be a male and had a deeper, male tone of voice. She didn't know whether to trust this male just yet and didn't want to say too much. "I was just resting, and yeah, it is kind of uncomfortable but I've had worse." she hesitated. "Much worse..." she trailed off under her breath. She yawned softly and decided she should clamber out from under the low park bench and stood up, shaking her fur free from dust and dirt off the hard concrete ground.

Cracker shook as Rocky growled. She pulled out her best Tristie voice and whimpered. "It's okay! They seem nice! Look, Flame even got some more food for us!" It wasnever her job to keep the peace, but now she felt like she could take Cody and Rick's place and be the calm one. She nudged a hot dog to Rocky. Smaller than her, yeah right. What did that prove? he was a Rottweiler - the Germans bred those for BOAR hunting! Yet, even though the was a war dog, she still wasn't fighting.

Rocky twitched his ears as his new friend Cracker spoke to him in calm, easy words but he never took his eyes off the one that barged into him head on. He let out a sigh and turned to face her. "Alright, I don't want to waste my strength." he said firmly, glaring back at the other stray. He looked down at the hot dog, given to him by Rookie and picked it up in his strong jaws. He snapped it up quickly, hardly filling his appetite but nodded his thanks anyway to the Golden Retriever. "Thanks again Rookie." he bowed his head slightly in respect and sat down.

Every Morning, when the small birds hummed their tunes for the sun to rise everyday, Emmy has always hummed with them, they were sometimes her only friend. It has only been a day or so since she was left, and she was still left with the ache of home sickness. Being left was one of her fears, know now that someday she will die alone, no little owner hugging her for the last time. And sometimes Emmy could almost feel her little owner's small hands wrap around her neck snuggly, keeping her warm very night, and always being there to hum her asleep. But Emmy knew everything from then was in her head, and she only felt and heard it mentally. She longed for home for a while now, and she always felt so alone.

----

Emmy crouched beneath the bakery that was always in town. She alway hid under the broken porch steps, getting to eat every scrap the humans left. As the pairs of humans left, Emmy slowly crawled out, and sniffed around the top porch for the warm buns, and maybe even the donuts. Creeping up onto the left side table, she got the sweet smelling scent of buns! bouncing up, she slammed her paws against the glass table, grabbing the two buns. Before she was to be caught, she ran off the porch, and back under the steps. chewing quickly, she watched the car among the street whiz by, leaving the fowl scent of gas.
i am not very active anymore, but im sometimes on oekaki.
you can call me ami or shura! xxoo

Flame- All the males except Rocky and Rookie were seeming to hate me around, I ignored that though. Flame walked around the alley way but then trotted out. I didn't feel welcomed at all! So I walked and I walked till I reached a nice bench and I climbed on top of it. I sighed and layed down. Soonly, I fell asleep. I felt something poking me, but Flame ignored it. It finally stopped. I awoke and saw Liam walking away. I sighed and fell back asleep.

Aki- She sighed as she watched Flame walk away. She got up and sniffed the air, it was Kasi. Aki layed back down and narrowed her eyes where she was coming. She finally smiled when she saw Kasi's face peer into the alley way. She got up and wagged her tail, she barked a friendly bark too. She smiled and sat down, her eyes on Kasi. She barked again. Aki waved a paw and wagged her tail faster.

Kasi- She peered in the alley way and saw Aki. She barked a friendly bark too. She wagged her tail and walked in the alley way. Her eyes came off Aki and looked at Cracker and the other males. She said, "Hi!" and waved a paw at them and Aki. Kasi walked closer and smiled. She looked around, making sure the dogs weren't going to harm her. She sat down and barked.
