{{ M'kay. :) (sorry this reply took so long I was planning on waiting for others but...screw it.
note: I typed this up last night when I saw your bump, only to have my internet go on the fritz. )}}
The abilty for a nonhuman to change its human appearance on a whim, perhaps one of the most useful skills in the past few years. It is difficult to find that which you cannot identify after all. "Why don't you choose something more beautiful?" a human had once asked her, months ago, in response to her current merely-attractive form. Why she'd been talking to a human was beyond her, but it had made for an interesting conversation. "Subtlety is the hunter's greatest weapon--as well as the prey's. I am too vein to be ugly or plain, but I have no qualms not being a stunning vixen of a human woman at all times. After all, in my eyes, all humans are rather ugly so the difference between stunning and attractive is small to me." She ran a hand through that silky black wedge atop her small human head, so round and fragile. It was an offront to the angular equine within her. "What a curse it is to be human," she muttered. "Even in appearance alone." She looked sidelong at the nix, smiling a michievous smile and considering the other water spirit's appearance. "Cute," she chuckled under her breath, then sighed.

"It smells worse than death," she murmured. "It smells like living eternally in a human skin, being played like a puppet by creatures you could kill with less effort than it takes to swat a fly." Her lip curled in disgust. "The man who runs it reeks of insanity, the type you see in those that are very old and have tried too hard to be human, or those immortals that once were human. To see everyone you knew--loved and hated alike--die while you remain ageless and powerful. I have seen it. A few times, I have even felt it. But--" her expression turned just a tad vicious perhaps, feral and sharp-toothed. She may not be able to take on the form of a shark as the nix could, but she could certainly look like a "shark in sheep's clothing", so to speak. "To be a cruel unseelie is a boon to us who live it well. Come--let us walk as we talk. A wise little human child once told me that people are less likely to interrupt those who look to have a purpose." She gently took Laila's elbow in one surprisingly large hand, gently guiding her into a stride down the hall. Though she did not do it conciously, she was careful not to seem like she was trying to control the nix; the gesture was merely a habitual one, though where a female kelpie had picked up such a male human habit was beyond comprehension. Suffice to say that Jake is odd and her hobbies odder still.

Gwynne wrote:Everine Sibbs openly eyed this curious figure who she knew as Head Master, momentarily relapsing into her ancient thoughts. "Lord Krimus." She whispered, her lips softly forming the long-ago lovers name. Love. Darling. The ingeniously clever words that the Head Master had called her evoked such distant memories of being a wife and mother to a man that would later betray her, killing all but herself. Her hands ached to remember the firm yet gentle curve of his larger ones. Her eyes became fixated on Head Master Kastor, his calloused (not literally) and wicked face ever so slightly resembled her evil lover. As is custom with ancient figures, Sibbs was distracted and therefore subtly perked up and removed her ghostly stare from the Head Master's piercing eyes. "Head Master, why must you call me love and darling?" She asked using that respectable tone again and this time meeting the devilish man's eyes, her own alight with incurable fury. Her nostrils flared as she recounted in her elderly mind the horrific death of her daughters and son, as their own father slaughtered them. The office that belonged to the Head Master began to roll and shake with an oncoming cataclysmic event and as Everine stared into Kastor's eyes, she became aware of her own position as prisoner; thus removing her eyes from his and looking to her left, the room becoming deathly silent. "I apologize, my Head Master." She spoke in that formal tone again, peace once again residing in those tempest seas of green that we call the windows to the soul. "When I say 'your people', Head Master, I am indirectly referring to humans in quite a general stance, If I may. But 'tis the duty of the High and Noble Guardians (such as my kind prefer to be dubbed), we care for those of this selfish and imprudent world, as is charged by the High Lord of all, Head Master." She spoke with a kind, yet with ever so slight of reprimand. She brushed off a large centipede from her right shoulder and smiled knowingly at Kastor as Dulson snatched it up in one bite. Then once again her constantly active mind switched motives, and remembered part of his lengthy reply.

"I understand, Head Master, that you 'run' this school, but I asked why you are here." She repeated once again, her expression daring him to lie again. "And, Head Master, I am much smarter than the likes of you should even dare to comprehend." She spoke ever so politely that one would be surprised at the words that went along with the tone.

((Ugh, someone give me a digital slap for being off so long. >_< I'd like to say I was busy but truthfully I'm just awful at managing my schedule. I'm SO sorry I haven't been online everyone! I also hate to ask, but could one of you guys explain what's going on in the classroom? It's hard trying to keep track of all these conversations, especially when I'm reading them all at once and trying to figure out where my characters are involved. Kastor, however, is pretty easy. Oh, and how'd the move go, Kgryphon?))

Kastor watched Everine with mild interest during the time she was deep in thought, pondering what she may be thinking about. From what he could tell he had brought up some memory, a constant problem with the long-living students at Mythic Dawn, but it didn't appear to be anything of consequence. Fortunately he was patient enough to at least wait until she spoke again, asking him about the names he used with a certain degree of fury that might have worried most people, though the Headmaster just took on an intrigued expression and met the wizard's gaze.. "Don't flatter yourself, love, it's just the way I speak. Considering your own manner of speech we're both a little behind the times, so that shouldn't be a surprise." It was clear something had happened with Everine, both her body language and the name she had whispered made that fairly obvious, but whatever it was didn't matter yet. If it ever seemed like that information would come in handy... well, then Kastor had better methods of tricking a story out of someone than making them mad. Still, her anger wasn't a problem either, so he stared back at her calmly until she suddenly apologized, which was mildly surprising. Considering the way she had phrased her question, the wizard obviously wasn't as willing to deal with him as she had first made it seem. However he gave up pondering that after her next statement. "So your kind has been ordered by your High Lord, whom I take it is either a ruler or some form of deity, to watch over human kind? Quite a responsibility, darling. "No pressure" and all that, though it doesn't seem to me that the humans are in much need of help." Kastor wasn't a fool, he knew exactly what Everine might assume by his usage of "human kind" rather than "my kind" or even "us", but whether or not the girl chose to read into this was no concern. If she did she might come to the conclusion that he was as much of a "freak" as she might be considered, and if not then maybe she would decide he was simply delusional, or else pass it off as nothing. No matter what she may think, however, he would not confirm any suspicions. Human or not, he preferred to let even his staff wonder about that-and since there were so many who could hide these things that played out perfectly.

Kastor didn't even glance at Dulson when the hawk snatched up the caterpillar from Everine's shoulder, though he did take note of it. The wizard was right, she was certainly very smart-smart enough she may attempt to pass off her friend as nothing but a jinxed pet, but he was pleased to see she didn't try something so trivial, as someone just as smart but still less knowledgeable might have done. All in all ,though, he was more interested by her tone, which remained respectful but still implied she was either mocking him -possible, but she seemed above childish games- or scolding him for treating human kind's "protector's" in such a poor manner -much more likely. But enough of that, he could waste time reading further into her actions or he could get this over with and do so in private, much easier. "Do I detect a threat, sweetheart?" Kastor chuckled, surprisingly not angered by her words or the message her eyes gave off. It wasn't hard to make him lose control out of fury, but one would be more likely to trigger such things with a passing comment most wouldn't notice, something Everine may have guessed. She wasn't trying to challenge him, but she wasn't about to let him bully her either. "Now then, I believe I answered your question, did I not? Sorry, love, but you'll have to be more specific if you're not satisfied with that." The man finished, once again resting his chin in his palms, watching her with his usual peculiar smirk.

{{ Omigosh! You're back1 ='D I just noticed that you'd replied on here, sorry. Distracted. I've got a lovely toothache now.

The move went okay, and I got my broken laptop fixed at last. During the 16 hour drive one've the cats got carsick, which was as delightful as it sounds. We stayed up there for a few weeks, but now we're back down in Fl trying to get the divorce precedings over with since apparently one of the papers we had to file makes it illegal for me to leave the state until after the divorce. So we're unhappily stuck living in a friend's apartment while waiting for the metaphorical [censored] to hit the fan.

I don't think a whole lot was going on in the classroom--mostly just some quiet chatting, but I don't really remember. ^^; I'll scan through it later and see if it jogs my memory, kay? But I'm off to take another pain pill now. toothache+ear infection+some other crap=unhappy K. ^^; }}

((Oh my! I almost forgot about this RP ^_^'
Awww, I'm sorry Kgryphon. If it makes you feel better I've also been having a crappy time. My ferret just died last night and my battle scar on my elbow that I got a few months ago from skating still randomly hurts through out the day.
As for the classroom, Jake stormed out and Laila followed. Now the two of them are talking in the hallway. I don't really remember anything else, sorry))

Laila nodded in agreement to the kelpie's words. She was not shocked or taken aback by Jake's sudden feral appearance. Yet she found herself filling up with anger and distaste for this place. Though her external appearance stayed calm and almost unreadable like the dark murky waters in which her kind like to live. "They do say the naked truth comes from the mouths of the young and innocent," Laila said with a chuckle referring to the kelpie's comment about the human child. "Yes, talking would be a good idea," the nix agreed as she let Jake guide her.

"If only we could organize the other students. Get them to work with one another, then the humans would not think they are so powerful. Yet, they stop us from forming such a group on fear that we will put them in their place," Laila said as she matched the pace of the kelpie as she walked. Plans and schemes were running through the nix's head. Buzzing like bees, she tried to organize her thoughts and hatred in her head. After taking a calming breath the nix continued, "I have also noticed that many creatures have been 'broken' so to speak. Giving up hope and bending to the humans' will. It sickens me," Laila said with disgust.

{{ Sooo... On page 10, Mugi and Hino responded to Leonard--page 11, Jake...uhmm...cackled and left the room and, as Fang said, Laila followed. They're walking and talking. }}

Jake sighed quietly, moving her hand from Laila's elbow to run her fingers through her hair. It was easier to fidget as a horse. Less people noticed then too. I am too old, she thought again. I mocked the nix for her water, but I am little better off. I may be forced to change form soon. Centuries ago, such a thing would not occur. How pitiful.

"Fear is the greatest weapon one can wield, and the humans are skilled with it. But they are as controlled by it as us, perhaps more so. Humans fear death more than any other creature I've ever met. Which is ironic considering how short their lives." She shrugged, then smirked. "'The hopeless are never lacking.'" Her eyes traveled to Laila's face again. "I envy them sometimes. But, there is always a lighter path. How odd this is. As an unseelie to travel the path those Fair Folk would favor." She snorted, horse-like. For a few paces she was silent, head tilted forward as if watching the ground before them.

"Rallying the troops should prove eventful. It would have to be done in secret. That wizard could help us--or hinder us. Hino could too...We should gather the psychics first. Secrecy is much easier when those who are best are detecting secrets are on your side." She looked askance at Laila, amused. "This will be fun," she drawled. "Maybe I'll even die. I'll be sure to go out in a blaze of glory." Jake grinned again, snickering. "I will ask Hino to tell my story. A phoenix is good for story telling. They never forget."

Re: .:Mythic Dawn{Fantasy Romance/Action RP}Semi-literate:.

Everine's lips twitched, such as a cat would flick her tail. "Master, though you take life-or what you call life-differently than most; nearly disgusted with your superiors-" Now she smiled, her eyes delving deep into Kastor's, Dulson cocked his head to the side, wondering what his companion was doing. "But the world is in far too much imminent danger for me to be playing games, so to speak. Let me go, or do you need some sort of favor? Wealth? A sane mind?" She asked, her tone much less pleasant, knowing annoying him would take much too long for what she had to deal with. She gently brushed a crimson lock back from her face, and as she did so, a large wolf spider crawled onto her nose. She crossed her eyes to look at it and smiled- not one of those forced smiles as she had been giving Kastor, but a truly pleased smile. She made a clicking sound and the spider leaped onto the desk. "My dear Head Maser, meet Oromin. He is part of the Sylvan Delegation, he is here to give me a report. If you would like to understand what he is saying, I can make that possible." She said, seemingly forgetting the long silence that had elapsed between his reply and the long interval of each trying to see into the others mind. She had to admit that he was an interesting figure, and would normally wish to take him to the High Lord as a suiting guardian, but his mind was like rotting meat, and she knew he was not going to have a peace of mind on his own. The ancient-yet somehow as lovely as anything-wizard looked down at her feet, encased in foliage slippers let herself think back to the times when she was young, dancing out in little clearings in the Eldenwood Forest, her partner a young tree nymph. He was tall and lively, most likely Aspen, with the most alluring eyes and the quickest feet. He would twirl her around and she would call to the water sprites to join them in song. It was pure bliss, when she was the guardian's daughter and her mother, the Lady Animacca, would play her golden flute.

Everine looked back up at Oromin, her eyes no longer cloudy and distant. "What is the news, Oromin?" She asked, her eyes once again meeting Kastor's. She reached out and touched his ears with both hands, expecting him to recoil form her almost electric touch. She closed her eyes and started talking in a tongue he did not understand. Dulson's beak dropped, theoretically, at her actions. Once Everine lifted her hands from Kastor's head, she frowned. "Well, what do you hear?" She asked, knowing that it must be quite a shock to hear every single thought of those around him, except herself, for she was well guarded. The spider's thoughts jumped as quickly as lighting and Dulson's were quite drawn out. She continued to frown. "Are you all right, Head Master?" She asked, genuinely concerned.

((Sorry everybou, I'm at my soster's, no computer so this is being typed on my iPod. I'll reply as soon as I can Monday, afternoon or early evening. Thanks for the recap and I hope you feel better! Seems we're all having a crappy time. My kitty ran away and despite posters and constant searching for nearly a week we've yet to see any trace of him. :( Anyway, I'll try to reply in a way that doesn't involve everyone having to deal with all their characters at once, probably have Leonard be sent after them by the pissed off teacher or something. Anyway, now that Summer's here I should be on more often, though I still feel stupid for being off so long. Sorry guys!))

((All right! I have access to a computer-but I'm a slow typer and the Library only gives me 15 minutes to use this, so the replies will be shorter and less interesting than I would like. =/ Sorry guys!))

Kastor's eyes practically blazed at Everine's comment. 'A sane mind?' There she was again, assuming there was something wrong with him- what nerve coming from a little brat like her. She was doing alot of that, overestimating herself. Then again, many wizards and the like tended to do something similar, they often assumed humans rarely dealt with anything worse than them. But he had crossed things far more frightening than any wizard, demon or werewolf at the school- he could handle her and her silly threats just fine. Like that spider. Oromin, as she called it, supposedly was reading his mind- a fact he didn't doubt- but he was also there as some form of reminder. This girl didn't want him thinking she was helpless, which was obvious enough without the poisonous arachnids. "Quite all right, love. Come here a moment, Oromin." Rather than answering her questions the headmaster held out his hand, wondering if the spider would actually come nearer. The gesture, and every little thing about him at the moment, indicated he wanted a closer look, almost like moving forward to converse more easily with someone. If the creature didn't come to her he would simply come to it- and he was far quicker than any bug, even a magical one. "Wizard Sibbs, you seem to be rather intelligent. I think you can be quite useful, though your attitude needs some improvement." He mused to himself, tone light while his eyes were anything else. "Let me tell you, darling, that I don't take well to high and mighty wizards like yourself. You're likely not afraid of me, or for yourself, probably sure you can deal with everything that might come your way. Still, these little woodland friends of yours-as I'm sure you know- can't. I'm not your friendly neighborhood school master, if I decide I'll need you I'll have to break you first, and I want you to look me in the eye and tell me whether or not you think me able." Kastor stood up for the first time since their meeting, unperturbed by the few inches this girl had on him, and calmly looked Everine in the eye, hand pointedly closed to Oromin. And he was prepared for any disappearing acts, the spider was much better off standing still. Like most predators he liked to give chase, years of military life telling him to attack whatever ran when threatened. Usually you only ran if you were afraid or guilty, both reasons for a beating in his unusual opinion.

Leonard glanced at his reptilian acquaintance, prepared tin full to continue their conversation, but the look on their teacher's face stopped him. She had dealt with multiple disturbances already, and the woman's face was practically beat red. "Leonard! You go out there and drag those girls in here by the thumbs, or so help me I'll see the three of you dead within the week!" The wizard blanched, not out of fear-though he knew these threats were real- but surprise. Never had a staff member other than dear old Kastor been so blunt about what they may do to their students. Ignoring the fact that he had had nothing to do with the girls' exists, Leonard rose to his feet without protest, exhibiting a practiced amount of meekness that would feed the teacher's ego just enough to cool her down a moment or two. "Yes ma'am, right away..." He murmured, hurrying out of the room in a way that any who didn't know him well would consider pathetic.

"Rallying the troops should prove eventful. It should be done..." Leonard froze, catching just a snatch of the conversation. He heard Jake saying something else, but he could get the gist of what was going on from just those words. If these two ladies were in the market for a rebellion... well, he had considered them not moments ago, had he not? Chances were he could trust them, especially since he held this over them if need be. Not that he would threaten anybody, but if they refused to help him or blackmailed him he knew the staff would believe him over two strangers any day. If I only had a strand of hair... but no. What better way to forfeit any chance of trust than performing an unwilling scrying on a potential ally? I could approach them directly, but they may think me dishonorable... Leonard sighed to himself, he had no time and no options- may as well be direct. "Excuse me, but if I hear correctly the two of you are interested in breaking out of here, are you not?" He was well aware they would have spotted him by now, no use looking abashed about "spying" on them. "Well, I might be able to help you there... mayhap you're willing to listen?"
