Re: Oekaki Moderator Applications NOW OPEN

Postby quitting99983 » Wed Feb 27, 2013 8:29 am

What date did you register as a CS member?: I have actually joined in around December 18th, 2011. This account was gifted to me thought I remember having an account back in mid 2010, but I quit after four weeks and later forgot the whole account information.
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 5091 (Gifted account)
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: Every single day, before school, after school, weekends, holidays, on mobile phone, IPad, any way and day I can.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: I usually spend 12/15 hours a day on CS.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: I have never moderated on CS before except mini-mods in art shops or for friends, I used to moderate the art that came in on another website that was sadly never very active and deleted in another month.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: I have used the CS Oekaki a reasonable ammount of times and I have to say I am impressed how a simple program can make such art. I do try to use it to improve my skills and practice using basic lineart and colouring in. I'm not 101% used to it and I don't upload many things until I'm happy with them, but I do practice when I have my tablet nearby. When I get used to it I plan on making free adoptables and free to use lines/editables for the CS community on a free day.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: Yes, in fact when I have finished what I had to do I go ahead and look at the freshly uploaded art to find anything interesting or to give some critique.
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: I want to be an oekaki moderator on CS to ensure that the art there is appropriate for the whole family and rated for everyone or as long as it follows the CS oekaki rules.
Not only that, but to observe the art itself, I can see true potential in many of the artists.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?) I think I had enough experience to know what are the basics and how to use it correctly. I am working on getting on knowing it to the full.

Thank you for the chance.

Edit;;
My old account is now called Movedintoowlsaccount. You can use it to check the posts and any other information you need as I only had been using this account for 2 days. I will also answer any question you may have. Again, thank you.

I've got a quick question, just so I don't waste my time working on my application. :> I currently have several non-oekaki related warnings, most being from the mess of the Things That Annoy You thread that I do not visit any more. If I post an application, would it still be considered?
I've only ever had one warning pertaining to the oekaki and that was years ago. Like, 2010-11 range. ^^

What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 6 months ago, do not apply)
-Feb 6 2011

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply)
-6,142

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
- All 7

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?

- 3-5 I go on at different times though so not all in a row

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them

-I admin a few but don't have a mod job, but as you know it's the same thing because they can do what the mods do, http://kttyheaven.freeforums.org/ as kik200 http://warriorfan.freeforums.org/ as Kaystar and the other two that have been removed due to inactivity

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?

I actually used it twice today in about an hour, and I love to draw on it. I have 517 drawings on the oekaki. So yes I have, I have used it more than 517 times since I still have unfinished drawings ;3

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?

-Yes, I really enjoy browsing it some artwork is just beautiful and I'll comment on a few every once in a while but yes I love to just look at them, people on here are amazing artists.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?

-I've always, always, always wanted to help out CS, since I started here and applied for anything I could, I love being on CS and the roleplay and oekaki boards are my favorite which is why I would love to help out, by doing what I already do, besides I love browsing and if that means helping out as well I would love to help!

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?)

-I have a ton of exeperince using the oekaki boards and am now very fimiliar with them, yes I'm not the best artist but I really do enjoy drawing, but 517+ drawings and being on the oekaki boards.

Thank you for this oppurtunity, I wish luck to all of those who apply ~ Kiko200

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
usally every day, unless something bad happenens to my family of other things happen.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Maybe about 2-6 hours?
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
Nope, sorry.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
I have in the past, but due to me lacking a tablet it's very difficult for me to do certain parts, so I tend to only colour things in. Photoshop is my main tool when it comes to drawing.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
I usally spend a lot of time there but I have no idea how much time.
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I want to be an Oekaki Moderator because I want to help out and keep everything clean for other CS users to enjoy, without the clutter in the forums of images that don't follow the rules. Being on here for about 2 years, I've sen how well the forums are maintained so well, and I would also love to help out with that. And personally, I love this site and helping out would be a sort of dream for me. c:
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?)
I have used I Oekaki a lot, and I know how to use quite a few of the tools and things.

Thank you for giving me this amazing opportunity, and good luck to the other people trying out! c:

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
I visit multiple times a day, every day unless I am away for a valid reason.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
This depends on what I need to do on that particular day. If there is nothing I need to do, I might only spend one hour or so online. If there's plenty to be done, I spend a shocking amount online, even if it is just browsing the forums or drawing. I check around my day on my smart phone so its easy for me to keep track of goings on, I can spend anytime between 4-10 hours a day on CS.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
My moderating experience mostly comes from oekaki adoptables or working for artshops keeping the thread clean and tidy. I have been a moderator for many little adoptables in the past but the current active ones are as follows.
Ochiru and Butterosaurs.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
I have used it frequently in the past, and still do. I do enjoy playing around with Oekaki, finding shortcuts to things and working with blending tools etc. I am learning new things about oekaki daily and I hope I can continue to do so in the future.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Oh yes! It is a common source of ideas for me, I love browsing through different styles and techniques. I have found that oekaki has influenced my own style greatly and I love looking through remarkable artists gallerys when they first began at the beginning of the artist road.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I believe I have the knowledge you are looking for. I am taking GCSE and A-level arts, I have both given constructive critique and received it myself. I see myself as a very approachable member, being able to give feedback as well as being optimistic, professional and strategic.
I have a sharp eye for thefted art, I often report to global moderators art which I see to be abused. I understand people do forget to credit references so when I feel it to be necessary I do give people the benefit of the doubt, especially when my own art is thefted, I handle it with discression and an understanding behavior.
I will gladly enforce the art rules and regulations of Chicken Smoothie and am willing to help and educate members regarding oekaki and other drawing applets.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?)
I have skills with mediation between two or more parties and moderation in general. I'm discerning enough to to reprimand someone without making them want to quit CS. As I said in the paragraph above I see myself to be likable and approachable.
It would be an honor for me to become an oekaki moderator for CS, I'd not only be helping CS and given back what is has given to me but also educating others about my passion.

Thank you for your consideration!

I completely read the thread before I posted, and I saw that.
My current warnings are for mild swears and "suggestive" images. Not any of the above. :> I would like to know, preferably from a moderator who can see my warning history, if I could still apply, and have my application considered. ^^

Oeakaki Moderator Application!

    -What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 6 months ago, do not apply)
    {I registered on August 11th 2012, but I really registered on August 10th 2012, since I'm a day behind you guy's time.}

    -How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply)
    {1757 posts}

    -How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
    {Every single day without fail.}

    -How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
    {2 is the least, 6 has been my most. Not counting the time I spend on my cell phone}

    -Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them.
    {I haven't modded on a website. But I've modded on Kittish,and Sleepy Kittens.}

    -Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
    {Yes, of COURSE I have. I haven't posted them though, becuase A) I think they look horrible and mess up. B)My computer freezes every time I draw}

    -Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
    {Yup! I LOVE looking at em, but I don{t post much}

    -Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
    {I would like to be an Oekaki mod becuase I've seen a bunch of epic drawings that are in the beginner's Oakaki, instead of the intermediate. I've also seen some spats appear everywhere and would like to sort them out. I have always wanted to help out CS, and wanted to do something to help for once. I saaaw this as my opportunity as applied. :) }

    -Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?)
    {Yes, yes I have. I've always went on the Oekaki to experiment on it and such, and know the tools and such pretty well.

What date did you register as a CS member?:

Sat Oct 24, 2009. I have been online ever since, no hiatuses :)

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):

7301

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?

seven

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?

every minute I can :) on school days, I get four to six hours and on weekends I’m on cs pretty much all the time.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them.

I can honestly say I have only moderated on forums I made myself, but I have been a moderator on several threads such as JBDs and Cyber Bunnies. I also moderate on the separate JBD fanclub which is a bit more work than the thread itself.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?

all the time! I work as a jbd artist so I am on the oekaki constantly! I currently have 678 drawings and counting. I use the program a lot, and I know all the tips and tricks :)

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?

yep! I adore searching through the BEAUTIFUL art that is always posted! The featured art is always incredible, and I always love to look through the other boards too.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?

I have always loved CS, and have wanted to do something to give back to the community that does so much! This job would be perfect, as I spend a lot of time on the oekaki boards and love art! I've been waiting for the perfect position to pop up, and I think this might be the one! I spend a lot of time on cs, and I figured it’s time to repay the favor. From what I’ve seen of the oekaki mods, it looks like a difficult but fun job. I am going to be 100 percent honest... I have always dreamed of having ANY job on the cs team. I applied for the GH position a while back, and have only recently realized That the job didn't suit me. But this job seems like it fits me perfectly. This one feels like its my way to help out the site that really changed my life. I'm not going to go into a drabble about how it cured my depression and a sappy backstory, but CS really helped lower my anxiety issues. This position really appeals to me, as I hang out at the oekaki a lot. I'm not a particularly great artist (but art is my passion, and it's a big part of who I am), though I do know my way around many programs including the oekaki, and I just feel kinda like I wasn't doing my part in helping out CS. But this position just feels like... the one. I really connect with it, and it fits me really well. I love art, and the oekaki and this position stands perfectly for those two elements. Thanks so much for the opportunity!
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?)

I am pretty good at keeping my cool, especially online. I can be a calm person, even when provoked. I am persistent though, and will get the job done. I know a LOT about chibipaint and the oekaki and am also pretty good at picking out art theft, especially since I’ve been around a few sites and know some styles that are often copied. I've dealt with people fighting on more than one occasion, and I know the rules of cs really well. I have had more than one person steal my art, both on and off site and I have had some experience with handling situations like that well. :)
