She looked over at him, catching his joke. She smiled lightly before exchanging her expression to a much serious one ''Not every kelpie likes to admire their surroundings like I do though, you'd be surprised how many I've met who don't.'' Birch bobbed her head as she spoke.

"Then there is something wrong with them"he joked and smiled. He ate some more grass and perked his ears up hearing something in the distance.

''What do you hear?'' Birch mumbled, stepping closer to Chase's side and looking in the direction the noise came from. She shivered, always expecting the worst in situations. She shivered, although she knew fully well it was proably nothing more than a bird or another kelpie.

Birch backed up slowly, lifting her own muzzle in the air to scent the smell. She nodded her head slowly, ''You're right.. What do we do?'' Birch whispered back anixiously. Her head craned back to the path they took before, but it was full of mud puddles and would surely leave their hoofprints embedded in the mud- they would be easily trackable then. Trying to keep her calm, she walked back towards the mud-puddle-filled path, wanting to just go in the opposite direction of the two-leggeds

''I know but...but..'' Birch trailed off, just wanting to escape as soon as possible. ''Alright..'' she whispered, whinnying lowly as if whimpering her tension. Lowering her head, Birch followed after him, occassionally glancing in the direction of where the voices came from. Out of the corner of her eye, Birch spotted shadows moving and she leapt foreward, hoping it wasn't them

Birch galloped foreward when she was nudged. She travelled through the forest, snaking inbetween tree trunks. She snorted and kept galloping until she knew it was safe to stop
