As I snuggle into the sleeping bag, a noise comes to me. But, I ignore it. I break off a tiny bit froom one of my crackers and pop it in my mouth. In a few moments, it's there again. The noise. No, I'm not hearing things... "Do you guys hear that?" I ask the group, hearing the noize. It almost sounds like.... Screams....

Hunter watched the sky as the noise became louder. Like... Screams!

Artemis screamed as she saw the moving jays flying everywhere, mostly in anger because of her pain. She covered her was as the birds began screaming, some mimicking hers.

Nix shrugged, to awnser Lor. She then went back to changing camera angles.

Alice looked at Lyra "Yeah."
She then saw the wing tip of a JabberJay "Look! She cried, pointing at him sitting in a tree. Oh how badly the girl wished it was a MockingJay.

Artemis covered her head and ran into the Cornacorpia, snatching a loaded now. Shooting at the birds, she took one down, flinching at the svreams

I look over at them. Jabberjays... None of them sounded like anything I would care about, but their shrill screamed did sound like people. My eyes flick wide open as a certain scream sounds. The dog's dying howl shoots pain through my heart. "Howler!" I scream, scrambling for my bow.

I grab a knife, ready to kill a bird at any time. Katrina suddenly screams at the sound of... Dying dog. I wip around to look t Kat as she screams out the name. Howler? I think, confused. I look back at Alice, wondering who the heck this 'Howler' was.

Alice shrugged. Why was she the only person here, besides Lyra, who wasn't in shock?
Climbing up onto the branch above the one they were on Alice had a quick look in her pack.An empty water Purifier, a bag of beef Jerky, a small rope, and some medicine stuff. nothing of use. Yet. Grabbing out one of her knives she aimed, ready to throw.

I close my eyes and the image of golden retriever flashes into my head. If he died... I grab my bow and ready an arrow. Shocked at 'Howler's' constant death-screams, I pull back the arrow. With a final breath of worry, I let it fly. The dog's screams stop as the arrow sinks through the small bird's body...

Knife still in hand, I swing up to Alice. Settling beside her, I ask, "Who's Howler?" I wisper to her quietly, nodding down to the brown-haired twelve years old.
