Okay! It's been updated, and I figured I'd quote it here. x3 I kept the basic idea, but tweaked it a bit. It's actually something that sounds like a bird thing. x3 But anywho.
More species info....
•General behavior:
Tenebris are nocturnal, territorial creatures. They live alone or in groups of 2-4, and hunt and fight to keep their territory safe and unchallenged.
• Aging:
The gestation of a tenebris is 6 months. Kits are full grown by the time they are 4 years old, and leave their mothers when they are young adults, at around 3 years. Some mothers will allow their young to live with them in their territory, while others will force them out to find their own territory.
• Appearance:
Tenebris are fluffy mammals with mane-like neck fur. They have retractable claws, similar to those of a cat, and sharp teeth. Females are around the size of a fox, males a little bit bigger. Females have slightly shorter neck fur.
• Mating
Tenebris will find mates every year around spring time. The female chooses the male based on his collection. All throughout the rest of the year, males build up a collection of stones, feathers, pretty things, that they then present to a female during the mating season.
• Hunting:
Tenebris are hunters and scavengers, eating anything smaller than themselves. This includes rodents, fowl, and fish. They prefer to hunt over scavenge, but in the winter, when prey is more scarce, they will broaden their habits.
• Habitat:
Tenebris live in desert areas, mountains, forests, basically anywhere with a dense wilderness. They are extremely resilient, surviving wherever land isn't populated by humans and larger predators. Each tenebris or tenebris group keeps a territory a few miles wide, depending on it's need, and the population of prey on the territory. They are extremely aggressive about their territory, and will not stand for trespassers.
• Tenebris in captivity:
Tenebris are rarely in captivity, but sometimes are found. Wild tenebris cannot be tamed to be comfortable around humans if taken from their environment as an adult. They often refuse to eat and will excessively groom themselves, causing skin conditions and malnutrition. However, if raised with humans, and if their instincts are catered to, they can live quite happily.

That. is. amazing. ouo
Everything about it improves the species that much more<3
Just wondering, though, for the mating thing; will there be a certain set 'springtime' where males can present their collections to females or, since it's the real world's seasons, our males can ask a female whenever we (the owners) decide?

I figure in roleplaying, or whatever, we can manipulate the weather however we want. Anytime is fine. I suppose that springtime could simply be the time when they get together to mate, and that the collection could be presented at any time. But, like I said before, the world of the tenebris doesn't need to be in sync with our world.
