About the Species
History:
Kitkins were first thought to be a close relative of the cat although it was recently found they are much more closely related to squirrels. They are a very rare species although due to their recent discovery numbers are now rising. They are very adaptable and can live in most climates but are still very hard to find in the wild this may be due to their natural shyness of people. Domestic kits are found to be much friendlier although due to their agility and seemingly endless speed they can sometimes be hard to train. Kits can live alone or in family groups but generally do not allow strangers into their groups. Yearlings can sometimes leave the family group to find a mate and make a family of their own or to live a solitary life. Kitkins are not very strong but in a group are forces to reckon with but due to their fragile bodies’ kits often avoid fights instead settling disputes by puffing up their fur to appear bigger and barking the loudest. During mating the male kit follows a complex set of steps. The male will build a burrow for the female. The biggest and strongest kits as well as those that build the bests burrows will attract the most females. When he has chosen a mate he will perform a ‘dance’ for her jumping, leaping and swirling his tail trying to show his stuff. If the female chooses him she will copy his dance until they are synchronised. When the dance is over the pair will confirm their bond by grooming one another.
Facts:
live to about 20 years old they are considered adults at 2 at 1 they are teenagers (technical term yearlings).
They like to live in family groups although can live alone.
Very small bodies just large enough to fit in your palm.
Soft, fluffy bodies.
They usually come in natural colours although there is the occasional bright coloured kit.
Very short legs, so short in fact, you can only just see their paws beneath their fuzz.
A long lion like tail used for balancing.
Fairly large pointed ears to help them hear their prey.
Favourite foods include small rodents and bugs as well as small berries and seeds.
Noise: Bark, Squeak, Yowl.
A group of them are called a flurry.
They are very fast and agile despite their short legs.

Q & A
Want to know more about Kitkins and/or about their creation? just post the question and i'll feature it here!
Question: Do kitkins have a common trait among them all i.e a love of moss.
Yes, all Kitkins love feathers and often use them to make there burrows more comfortable.
Question: When do I pay for a custom/breeding?
Before the custom is given (if this makes you uncomfortable send it as a suggestion)
Question: Who do I pay for a custom/breeding?
The Artist you are asking to do it
Question: Can I pay for a custom/breeding in art?
That depends on the artist you will have to ask them personally.
Question: I don't have any of the Artists' requested payment but i really want a custom/breeding! what do I do?
Some Artists may be up for negotiations. Contact the Artist you want to do it to see if they will take a different price.
Question: Where do I get the Kitkin's code from?
Either contact the artist or me with a request for the code.
Do they have a pregnancy time? Like they have the kits for 1 day
Their gestation period is approximately 4 weeks siblings can be up to two days apart.
Question: would kitkins have different terms of naming due to genders such as a Wolf/She-wolf, Buck/Doe, Boar/sow etc.? would kitkin be used as the term for both genders?
Kitkin refers to both although you could use she-kit for females and kit for males. Kitlet refers to babies.
Question:If i were to order a custom would it be possible for him/her to be a relative of one of my other kitkins? or would i have to breed them for her to be a relative?
Yes you can make custom kitkins related if you want to.
Question: What common sicknesses are among the kits?
Colds and flue are quite common and are actually be spread from humans to kits and visa versa although tufted kitkins are more resistant to these. Also injuries such as breaks and sprains as well as infections from cuts.
Question: Are we allowed to give away kits? How?
Message me with a link to the kitkin you no longer want so that I can re home it.
Question: What will happen to our kitlets when we are banned?
If it is a short term ban you will get to keep them if it is permanent they will be re homed (unless they were breeding's and customs which you payed for)
