Elise decided it was better to roam than to stand idling along the street. She was not a clueless dog, though she was a bit eccentric. She smelled another dog, and sprinted off in that direction. She saw a fluffy, brownish-red little pup, looking happy and carefree. Elise panted. She got closer, and yelped, trying to be friendly. She also wagged her tail, even though she was not in a good mood AT ALL. It was just for the pup.

Rocky immediately twitched his ears and opened his eyes in a second. He saw a tall German Shepherd infront of him, it looked like a female. He raised his head and bared his teeth, letting out a low, blood-curdling snarl. "You really shouldn't be disturbing some one's sleep. Especially when that some one is me." he growled deeply, his nose wrinkled and his harsh brown eyes glared at the Shepherd dog. He snarled again and gradually got to his feet, his whole attention was on the female and he didn't dare take his eyes off her incase she tried to pull a fast move on him.

Cracker took a few steps back. She never expected the sleeping dog to be THIS harsh! The poor shephard put her ears back and her tail between her legs. All her time spent as a war dog gave her the experience and she knew that she could probably take him on, but she didn't want to try it. Instead, Cracker mustered up her best Tristie voice. She pushed her tongue to the roof of her mouth and tightened up the back of her throat, summoning a voice that wasn't hers. "I - I'm so s-sorry! I h-ha-a-ad n-no id-dea... I'm truly s-sorry." Her voice came out as clear and pure as a spring waterfall. Absolutly beautiful... She sounded just like her old pal Tristie! The memories that flooded her mind made tears come to her eyes. She realised what she looked like then - a scared German Shepard that was ready to cry. Her ears were laid back, her tail was between her legs, and her eyes were moist with tears that threatened to fall. She thought of the memory of Tristie's blood flying through the air when the Vietcong put a bullet in her chest. Big, wet tears sat on her lower eyelids, ready to plunge to the ground. "I-I'm s-so s-s-s-or-ry," she panted one last time, for effect. All Cracker could do then was pray that he bought the act.

The huge Rottweiler cocked his head to the side and watched the German Shepherd closely. Rocky noticed something roll down her cheek and drip down onto the concrete pavement. "Well, try to be more careful next time, ok?" he told her in his attempt of a slightly more friendlier voice. He lowered his head, not submissively but just to show he won't attack. Not that he couldn't, he just didn't want to at a time like this. He turned around and returned to curled up against the wall he was before. He still didn't take his full attention off the German Shepherd, he just felt a little safer now.

Cracker knew he fell for it. "W-wel... I-I'm s-st-till sorry." What would Tristie do?! She was always so good at playing this game! Cracker opened her eyes yet wider and turned around. Tristie's death flashed again, only Cracker thought real hard about it to make it more visual. As she walked off, big, wet tears ran down her face and left two trails on the sidewalk. She found two trash cans and rummaged through them, making it clear to Rocky that she was indeed a stray. Her stomach growled and echoed off the walls of the alleyway. Perfect! More dramatic effect! "God... No more food left - Not even scraps!" Cracker cried, adding a frustrated "URGH!" for emphasis. She watched Rocky out of the corner of her eye to see what he would do. 'He looks like a stray as well. I'm pretty sure he would be able to help... If he noticed and thought I was having a real hard time... He just may be my easy ticket out of this joint... And maybe a new friend!' Cracker thought to herself.

The Rotty watched the Shepherd and chuckled quietly to himself as he noticed how hard it was for her to find food. "Must be new to this whole Stray thing." he thought to himself and stood up slowly, keeping his attention on the stressed out German Shepherd. "You look like you need some help." Rocky told her in his usual, deep, emotionless tone. He waited patiently for the stray to turn around and face him to give her reply. He calmly padded closer to the shepherd dog but kept his distance incase she tried to pull something.

Tristie! Tristie! TRISTIE! TRISTY! T~R~I~S~T~I~E!!!!! Cracker burst into fresh tears.
"You look like you could use some help," the Rottweiler said.
Cracker whirled aroud. She nodded, making fresh tears fall. She backed up a few steps and backed into a wall. Suddenly, she started shaking. She had no idea where this came from. She spent plenty of time in Vietnam, riding choppers, saving Rick's life, finding leathal traps, and watching her pal Tristie die. Yet, nothing had made her shake. Why was this dog making her so scared?

Rocky saw literally a river trickle down the German Shepherd's face and she was backing into a wall cautiously."Hey, you don't need to be scared of me, I won't hurt you unless you do something really bad." he reassured her as the Rottweiler took a few steps forward towards the other stray, giving the Shepherd a soft yet charming smile. "I promise." he told her in a more, serious tone. Rocky may seem vicious and aggressive but he was a man of his word and would never break a promise to anyone, even if he only just met them.

Rocky smiled softly and stepped another few paces towards the shepherd. "So I guess you're new to the whole 'stray' thing, huh?" he chuckled slightly and sat down, his short, stumpy tail twitched occasionally.
(Grr, writer's block -_-)
