So I kinda gave up on my daemon for quite some time... And I think I'm going to stick with I this time. We've both changed a lot, and I never really realized how much I love having her around. I was just worried my parents would find out and freak out on me, and send me to a mental hospital. So I've renamed her Freya, and were goon to start over. I just thought Id postvthis here since this is, after all, the daemian union... Thanks for reading my ramble .-.

That's why I've only told one other person about Valkero, and even then I'm not sure I'm very high up on her sanity list. I can't imagine ever telling my parents, or even trying to describe the topic. If it helps, though, I've found that keeping them to yourself can be a good thing, too. Kind of like a dirty little secret or an inside joke you can share with him/her. Good luck in your adventures together (:

If you ever do decide to tell them (though I assure you, it's not really necessary), choosing to explain it in a rational manner will help their skepticism immensely. For instance, starting off with, "I really like taking tests about my personality. There's one kind of test where I fill out a long survey about my personality, and I find out what kind of animal best fits me." and THEN see where it goes from there. I've seen best results from describing daemons as a "mental construct" or "animus".

Goodness I don't post here often enough! Just a quick question for the masses, has anyone here even seemingly settled with a daemon that doesn't fit what their personality type dictates? I mean, Ains here has been a crow for well over a year and he really has no interest in changing. xD Someone told me awhile back that I should more likely have a rodent or a cervine daemon and he just thinks its absurd.

I could've told my parents when I was younger, certainly. But if I told them, I'd say that it's like your concience talking a shpe usually of an animal. Then they wouldn't think I was crazy. XD

Your daemon can take any form you wish. It does not mean that form is what best fits your personality. Someone said something similar on tumblr as well. It makes the personality-aspect of daemonism completely moot if you decide, "Hey my daemon is a fox when I'm very very social and that's not fox-like but he refuses to change, so that's my settled form!"
No.
That's cool that your daemon loves the crow form and he doesn't want to change from crow. But that does not make your personality a crow.

Thank-you for your insight! Yeah, I wouldn't cast myself as crow-like at all but he's happy as he is and that's good enough for me. If he does decide to change someday, that'll be cool too. I just wonder sometimes if that makes him less of a daemon and more of an imaginary friend.

Deamons are imaginary friends~ :] Glorified imaginary friends, but imaginary friends none the less. xD
What Revika is saying is that you can project your deamon as a crow (as in, he can keep that form), but it would be dishonest to call that your settled form. You can find your accurate settled form and still project your deamon as a crow if that's just more comfortable for you. You can have a settled form that does not match your projected form.

I understand how you feel. My family doesn't know about Vee at all. I'm a little worried about telling them; I'm sure I'll find a simple and easy way to tell them. I'm sure you will too. =3
In the meantime, welcome to the Daemien Union~ If you ever want to chat with someone, Vee and I would be happy to talk!
If you have questions, please don't ask me. Ask someone more experienced. X3
