Hmm, I haven't bought the Mirror Mask game yet, but I tried it out last night at best buy xD.
I must say, the animation was... interesting. (maybe it was just because it was on a 3ds)

The animation caught me off guard at first too XD

But I got used to it, and the cutscenes are very well detailed. I can't exactly say how detailed but I'm talking about the shading, light, and colors, they're better than previous games c:

I'm watching the movie right now on YouTube, and I'm loving it so far! C:
I always loved the cutscenes when playing the games, and this is like one big cutscene! ^^

The only game I don't have (but I have played a little of it) is Pandora's Box, or I think, The Diabolical Box. I only played a little of it, it was a rented game. But it was the FIRST Professor Layton game I ever played. I have got, and finished, every other game in the series so far. Except I accidentally deleted a few of my saved folders on some games, and deleted my complete games... So I have to re-play them again!

@Nightmare of Korra: Awesome! I bet you can find that game for a low price if you look around online. C: then you'll finish your collection.
The only one I haven't played is The Last Specter/The Specter's Flute.

It's frustrating when you [or someone else] deletes your save files! But at least you can go through them again and earn more picarats since you can probably remember some of the good puzzles you got stuck on.

Yeah, no kidding. The bonus sections are getting harder to unlock, too. I had to complete pretty much all the puzzles in Miracle Mask to get the cutscenes, though that's taking all my lost picarats into account...

Don't rush through the puzzles and you're more likely to get them right. Double-check your answer before submitting it! I lose major picarats because I didn't double-check.
