Guys, I noticed something in the followup. Derpy is there about 6 or seven times in the same ending scene. And, look at this:

I think this was a wink to the fandom that she's not going anywhere, and trust Derpy to wink by putting her face down to the ground to find us. And notice how she totally broke the fourth wall there. That's Pinkie Pie's job, but I'm sure she won't mind sharing with Discord and Derpy, will she?

The pacing is brilliant. The season premiere hint was really well places. The continuity is very good and Twilight sparkle's character is "full". She isn't Twilight Sparkle anymore, she's 20% cooler: Princess Twilight Sparkle.
