Sombra kicked back his leg, stopping Fred. "Access your situation first, don't go blundering in..." He sniffed the air. "He is not a true shifter, he is a stealer of powers..."

Ash stepped backwards, turned and ran into the house.

((No, no-one told me a plot... But nothing much seemed to be happening so I started off my own mini-one. Not a plotline really, just an idea))

"Fred!" Mattie ran from the house, circling in a wide arc around the massive wolf. "Merr's right, he's a stealer... A stealer of powers. Only the person who has their power stolen dies afterwards, as a side effect"
She petered out, tears threatening again. Zan beckoned her over to her.
"What happened?" She bent down so her face was level with Matties, only inches away. Somehow, Mattie didn't feel as if she was violating her personal space. It was... Comforting.
"My dad. He's... He's dead. The creature killed him. Took his power. Our powers are a part of us, all of us, as much as our heart or our brain. You take them away, they die"
She looked down at her blood- covered hands. Her voice shook and her eyes stung at the edges.
Zan swept her into a hug. "It's my fault" Mattie mumbled. "If I hadn't gone out he wouldn't have got in. He wouldn't have got my key, and the address"

Ash came out again and hugged both of them. "I dont know who my dad is. Or my mum. But I mannaged, didnt I? You will too, you'll see."

Sombra reared up, shrieking. "Come on then. I could beat you with my eyes closed. Lets see what you've got, shrimp." He slashed at the ground, snarling. He was larger and more heavy than the stealer, to his advantage.

The wolf knashed its teeth and lunged and Sombra, missing him by an inch. It screeched at him and lunged again.

Sombra reared up, slashing at the stealer. His claws ran across his flank, missing the bit of vital flesh it had been targetted at.

The Stealer snarled and went for Sombra's neck, his teeth outstretched, his eyes blazing.
