FoxKit ran past HawkKit and back into the nursery.

(Hawkkit is now in the clearing with the tom.)

As Hawkkit was following the trail, he had to jump aside as Foxkit ran past him. What happened to him? he thought. Hawkkit narrowed his icy blue eyes and kept walking. Soon he came up to a dark tabby tom. The tabby fur on the tom was almost as dark as his was. But, the eyes weren't icy blue. Hawkkit hung in the shadows, though the brightness of the moon made his eyes glow in the dark as he stared at the tom with narrowed eyes. A low growl rumbled in the dark tabby tom's throat (Hawkkit). "Who are you? What cat would hurt a kit?" Hawkkit's voice was a deep growl, like a warrior's. It had always been that way since the day he began talking.

Frostkit leaped out of the way just in time for Foxkit to burst into the nursery. "What happened?" he asked after he followed Foxkit into the nursery more slowly.

"A cat from another clan"Foxkit replied trying to catch his breath.
