Heather suddenly realized what Spygirl had tried to do. She could never go back to the Save the Wingless Association. Never.
She blinked back tears, and started into an alley. She froze when she saw a wolf's face, Illuminated by the glow of an orange charm on his neclace. She heard a low growl, and a black and yellow striped dog came into the dim light of dusk, glaring at her.

"What are YOU doing here?" He asked aggressively.
"N-Nothing! I was being chased, and I-I ran in here! I'm sorry!" Heather said, terrified.
The wolf walked around until he was behind her. He barked, and continued growling, and Heather scrambled around, turning to face him. "Please just let me go! I didn't mean to..." She trailed off, not knowing what to say.
Suddenly the wolf lunged, and snapped at Heather. She yelped and scrambled backwards, but the wolf's teeth caught her front paw, and injured it pretty badly.
Then the wolf's eyes turned to horror, and he started whining. He slowly stepped back, staring at the wound on Heather's paw.
"No..." He said quietly. Then He looked up. "Whoever you are, run! Get out of here before I hurt you again!" It didn't sound like a threat, but more of a warning. Heather sensed it, and shook her head.
"No. What's going on?" She said firmly. "Who are you?"
The wolf seemed to realize that Heather wasn't going to leave, and sighed.
"My name is Rouge. I'm really sorry about your paw, but I can't help it. When I was a pup, some mad scientist guy did a test on me, and I ended up with two personalities. They switch uncontrollably, and no one is ever friends with me because sooner or later, I'll attack them." His expression hardened. "Now please get out of here before I go back!"
Heather shook her head. "I want to help you."
"Why?" asked Rouge.
"Because I almost took a syringe from a mad scientist. He might be the same one." She said.
