Deep in a place where sunny days were black as night, a faint thump resounded against the slates of rock. A group of dark shapes huddled around a tiny, smooth ball. The ball rolled in a circle, knocking into several of the anxious silhouettes. One particular shadow rapidly backed away, moving into the small shaft of light that penetrated the dark, dank cave. It was... a silky smooth dragon, with black slashes across it's skin. It tossed it's head back, roaring in excitement, and shot a column of white-hot flames toward the rocky ceiling. The rest of the shadowy shapes, which were also revealed to be dragons, followed his lead. Fire rained down, clinging to chunks of slate rock as they careened toward the cold earth. The tiny ball wiggled about, then a loud thunk announced a thick crack in it. Slowly, the shell fell away. Tiny shards hit the metallic floor and a pair of speckled wings fell away. A tiny, round face with pale red speckles around it stared up with round, violet eyes.
