Notes, Winks, Hearts, and Homework. (Another CS Pet Journal)

Postby kimmy1479 » Tue Feb 05, 2013 3:10 pm

^_^ Hello all.
This story is actually going to be based on my own experiences so far in the 'school system', since this is my first year not being homeschooled.
I should probably say 'loosely' based, because I'm not sure how far I'm going to go with this. However, one thing that will remain the same is the who-likes-who dynamic, since that's the basis of the story.
I'll try to update regularly. My goal is at least once ever Monday.
X3 Actually, I just really found all the 'relationship drama' pretty amusing, but no one at my school would think so, since they're all involved. So here is the story of my last few months at school.
Names have been changed- but most hold meanings close to original name or personality.

YES! FIRST TO POST! :D Awesome story so far, Kimmy!

"The game is
coming to its end."

"Our future starts
tomorrow at dawn."

"Snow has to pay
for what he's done."

"Our lives were
never ours. They
belong to Snow,
and our deaths
do too. But if you
kill him, if you
end all of this,
all those deaths
mean something."

"Tonight, turn your
weapons to the
Capitol! Turn your
weapons to Snow!"

Entry 1

My name is Kimberly Jean, and this is my first year at school.
The school I'm going to is a private school. The school itself doubles as the church it is affiliated with. I don't mind that so much. The only thing I think I will mind, actually, is the size of the school. I have yet to meet any of my future classmates (Though I'm told a friend I used to homeschool with will be going this year, too) but I know there are only 14 kids in my class.
The problem with this lies in my social abilities.
I'm not very social. And yet I'm very social. It's a tad confusing. Allow me to explain.
I have always had friends. I have always had the ability to make friends. And I usually had a fairly good number of friends that I was close to.
However, I had an exceedingly larger number of those whom I would have happily stabbed numerous times with a dull knife.
You see I've always gone to places that had a large number of people. And out of those, I'd find perhaps a group of ten that I truly enjoyed being with.
As for the rest... not so much.
So, even if I was in a group of 1000, and I made 10 friends, then that's fine with me.
But if you think about it, that is only 1%.
And 1% of 14 is a very, very small number.

So I was certainly reluctant to agree to this school.
Lucky for me, I didn't have a choice.
And now I sit in my car, approximately 3.7 miles away from my new school... and dreading it.
I suppose, Journal, that as I record my life in you, I should include a visual representation of myself. This should do.
Image

That's all I can write for now, but I'll be sure to write again at the end of the day.
Wish me luck.
I'll need it.

Entry 2

Journal, it is now Sept. 5.... 10 pm. Schools out, in case your paper brain couldn't detect that. It was interesting, to say the least.
Well, when I walked in, there was a throng of people. Toddlers, adults, and a small cluster of girls I assumed would now be my class mates. I could easily have taken that opportunity to introduce myself. I did not. First, because I just saw Denver. Denver was in my homeschool ski group, and I would see him at homeschool things every once and a while. We were not especially good friends, but my friend Kat used to have a crush on him.
I did not notice when he came up behind me, and I had to restrain myself from jumping at the sound of a voice next to my ear. Well, actually, about six inches above my ear. He's pretty tall. Or perhaps I'm simply short.
"Didn't know you went here." He said, a smile on his face, but with a neutral voice.
"I would say the same for you," I replied, "Except Kat told me. So I did know." I said with a shrug. Then, a call of,
"Denver!" Rang out, and I looked to see his mom waving him over to her. We exchanged polite goodbyes, and he walked away.
Now would certainly be an opportune moment to introduce myself to the group of future classmates, who stood not too far away from me.
But instead, I sat on a bench and pulled out my book. It was 'The Fault in Our Stars', by John Green. They were in Anne Franks house.
I happily ignored the fact that eventually I would need to speak to these people, and instead continued reading. Finally I looked up to see that the crowd room had thinned significantly. The only people remaining were the group of girls, and they were walking away, toward our classroom. Not knowing were to go myself, I followed a few feet behind. They were very loud, and squeaked at random intervals throughout the conversation.
We entered the classroom. Six tables, lined up in two rows of three, with fold out grey chairs awaiting us. There was a Smart Board on the right hand side of the room, and two twin wipe off boards in the front of the class. This was homeroom, so everyone was chatting with one another, or squealing about how long it'd been since they'd seen each other last. I took a seat in the middle of the front row, and read some more. I wasn't even trying to avoid people. This book was simply brilliant.

Then the teacher basically said nobody was really going to do Math today.
Except me.
More accurately, she announced that 'the three new students' would take a placement test to find out which Math they would be placed in, and for everyone else this was a Study Hall.

So Denver, this kid Mikey, and me, all got moved to this other table and handed a test.
I got through the first 5 questions alright... but then it looked like someone just hit random buttons on a calculator and expected me to be able to make sense of it.
Needless to say, I doubted very much that I would be put in advanced Math.

So that Period came and went, and we were dismissed. I followed the line of classmates who evidently knew where they were going.
"I am pretty sure that I just failed my first test." I heard Denver say beside me.
"I think they just started making up symbols near the end of it." I replied. then, a voice behind me said,
"Don't worry about that test. They basically give you an upper level Math test to see if you can handle advanced math. You aren't actually expected to know any of that. You're just going to be put with the rest of us. There are only like, four kids in our class who made it to advanced math." said a female voice next to me. She gave me a friendly smile as she introduced herself. "I'm Ella." she said.
"Kim." I replied to her, returning her friendly smile. She then proceeded to introduce me to horde of girls beside her. All the girls in the class, actually.
"This is Gabby, Kira, Cail, and Brit." she said, pointing to each girl in turn. I greeted them each in turn as we walked down the flight of stairs toward our next class. They made small talk, asking me where I went to school, what my middle name was, what I liked to do. As I answered I realized I didn't have a particularly exciting life. Homeschooled, Jean, and reading/writing/crying over fictional characters.
Anyway, the day continued and I got to know each person a little. Or at least get their names and my own impression of them. Below shall be a brief description, accompanied by a picture and what Hogwarts house I have sorted them in!

ImageJack was the closest thing that my class of fifteen had to a 'popular jock' type guy. He was a bit of a goof off, but most of the teachers actually seemed to like him. Gryffindor.

Image
Steven was certainly Jack's best friend. He was in advanced math, and but goofed off just as much as Jack. Gryffindor.

Image
Ella was best friends with both Jack and Steven. They'd known each other since forever, though, and basically determined never to ever ever ever ever get involved romantically. Ever.
She was nice, though. Very athletic, too. Gryffindor.

Image
Brit had a very... bubbly personality. But she was very prone to mood swings. So if she wasn't bubbly, she was either deppressed or full of rage. No in between on the spectrum. I still deem her Hufflepuff.

Image
Gabby was always happy. Hufflepuff. Not bubbly, but happy. She was sort of the medium that Brit did not have. And she was always the medium. She also does Ballet.

ImageCail was very smart. Ravenclaw smart. Advanced math like Steven. But, unlike him, she was person smart too. And book smart. Not text book smart, but book smart. Like, come dissect the subtle contexts of the Harry Potter series with me. This pleases me. What does not please me is her lack of interest in Doctor Who. *sigh* Poor soul....

Image
Tim was the very epitome of Hufflepuff. It seemed to be an ongoing joke that he pick up peoples pens, to the point where if a pen was dropped on one side of the room, Tim would jump out of his seat and half-sprint to the other side of the room to get it. He was a very friendly person in general, and very... gentlemanly? I suppose that's the word. Though it doesn't seem quite to fit the same boy who burst into an 'Epic Rap Battle' half way through Spanish class. He's a tad obsessed with Batman, he's nice to everyone, and he is very 'gentlemanly.'

Image
Harry. Harry is hard to place into words. He is a Gryffindor... but of a different sort than Jack or Steven or Ella. In fact, he rather hates Jack for being, as he puts it, 'an arrogant jock'. The two of them are sort of two sides of the same coin, though.
Either way, he is very brash, and has a tendency to get in trouble. He rarely prepares for class... at all.
He's a slacker, in a way. But it's sort of a waste since he really is pretty smart, and pretty good at art.

Image
Sam is a Slytherin. Now, usually I actually quite like Slytherins. They are clever and ambitious and pretty fun, actually. Sam is a bit more of a wanna be Slytherin. But, like most people here, makes me wish to utter the phrase, "I don't think that means what you think it means." He's pretty much a wanna be emo. He has long black hair, and wears dark clothes, but he's pretty much a class clown. Even if his jokes are not particularly funny, and if he likes to say, "Great! Just another reason to go home and cut myself." as a joke.

Image
Mike is a muggle, in my opinion. I suppose if I had to sort him, he'd be Slytherin... though he isn't entirely too ambitious, or clever, or anything.... but he doesn't fit in any other house. and, unlike some people, I don't believe in lumping all misfits into Hufflepuff. He isn't particularly loyal, or kind, or good at finding things. He's a little... odd. He thinks it's funny to add 'kins' to the ends of random wordykins. (< See?) And to make strange noises at random intervals. And yelling 'Yeah Mikey!" Evidently he went to this school in like third grade, moved to Florida, and now just moved back.

Image
Chris is a Hufflepuff. Though he likes to do strange things, like Mike, he's actually really nice and his jokes are even sometimes funny. He loves sports, and is sort of like a giant teddy bear.

Image
Denver is... Denver. It's hard to describe him. He doesn't always add a lot to conversations, and he isn't loud, but you wouldn't describe him as quiet either. He speaks often with a straight face and monotonous voice, but often deadpans , so he can be funny. I only recently found out he was midly dyslexic, so he has some trouble with academics and spelling. But he's pretty smart too. Gryffindor.

Image
Kya: Kya is quiet. A Hufflepuff. She's pretty much just adorable. You want to hug her all the time for no reason. She gets confused easily, but rarely get's frustrated. She rides horses.

Image
Jon... no one really likes Jon. That does not sound very nice. And maybe it isn't. No one is actually mean to him. In fact, Gabby and Brit and Kya are often very nice to him. But... he sort of lacks all social skills. And not in a 'he's shy and timid and doesn't know how to approach people' way. More like, a 'He's rude and often creepy and doesn't know when he isn't funny' way. He's generally just not very nice. And he can be a bit creepy. I am actually sorting him into Muggle. Mainly because he has no clue what Harry Potter is, and when I explained what a Muggle was, he said he thought Harry Potter was dumb, so he was proud to be a Muggle, since he didn't want anything to do with magic. So I'm not bothering to sort him.

That is all for today. Fair well.

Okay, I realize I just double posted, and am now triple posting, but I decided I didn't want the intro/stalker list in the same post as the entry, so I reorganized a bit. X3 I also didn't want OOC posts clumped with entries, or two entries in one post.
What can I say, I have a mild case of OCD. X3
Now the entries have their own posts, and they're labeled so you'll be able to just search whichever entry you were last on, instead of go through pages.
Hope you guys enjoy!

PS- I literally finished that second entry last Wednesday, but it took so long to find a pet for each person, that it took me days to find time to dress up and find the dogs to use. XD

By Kimmy, if you need any dogs, I've got a couple you could use (pre-dressed). Can't wait for the next chapter.
P.s. I couldn't help but notice that you didn't put anyone in Ravenclaw? What gives?

CoolKid4: Actually, Cail is a Ravenclaw. I suppose I never actually said that, though. XD I said
"She's smart. Ravenclaw smart."

I too, am a Ravenclaw, but unlike with Cail, I have yet to mention it in the story. XD But the people here... no one besides Cail or I really fit into Ravenclaw. I suppose Jon might be a Ravenclaw.... but he's really a muggle. There was much debate within the class on Tim, because he's really smart. However, it's really more on your values, and he doesn't thirst for knowledge, and is not partiularly curious. He cares about people, and helping, and being kind. So he's a Hufflepuff. ^_^
There would be more Ravenclaws, but they're based off real people from my school, and my school contains 5 Gryffindors, 5 Hufflepuffs, 2 Slytherins, 2 Ravenclaws, and a muggle.

Mockingjay: X3 Thanks, I'll add you. <3
