Entry Fifty-Three
It's been about two and a half weeks since the mess with the demonwolves. I don't think Ash is over it yet.
And by "it", I mean being normal like me.
He lived his whole life being different. He was used to being more than regular. He said it himself one day. He'll never get to be more ever again. When all that evil was gone, it left his system like anyone else's. If he tried to use DNA to change himself into something else again, it would kill him. He is now completely normal, until the day he dies.
And that's destroying him. He just... sits there. Staring at the wall. I try to get him to eat. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes he falls asleep, but it's never for long. I'm worried about him. I'm not sure if he'll ever snap out of it. It's like his entire world was split in half. He says he knew the risks of performing that spell, but I don't think he did. Because if he did, wouldn't he have been prepared for this?
Anyways. A few days ago, the gang showed up at the house a few minutes after I noticed something. My wings. They were gone, all gone. There's not even a trace that they were ever there. And the others? Well, they're normal again, too. The wings, the fins, the tails... All gone. When I had opened the door, the first thing I saw was Henry, standing there, on four paws.
Paws.
He had paws.
My jaw almost hit the floor.
There was much celebrating after that. They all came inside and we sat around and talked for awhile. Even Cloud had her miracle; she could see again, without any problems. And she was thrilled, looking around at everything and bouncing up and down.
Nate was acting a little like Ash, just sitting there and not doing much.
"See, all the things Bleu did to us were directly linked to him. When Ash performed that spell, it affected us, too. It just took a little while for it to each us," Stephanie explained. "Some of us are taking it better than others--I'm looking at you, Nate--but whatever."
Ever since that day, Bailey and her sisters have been leaving us alone. Me and Veronica went to a couple movies together. I talked to a few new people at school. Because, if all evil has been blasted from town, why not talk to people? I think I talked Ash into going to see some really bloody movie with Nate this weekend. Those boys can use some serious guy time. Serious. I mean, the plan could seriously backfire and just make them more depressed 'cause there's going to be tons of blood and they were part vampdog and stuff, but it's worth a shot.
So that's that. There's not much else. In fact, I'm almost certain that not much else is going to happen for a long time.
I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.
