Angela hesitated. "My mom. She is very distant these days and I hate leaving her alone." She looked down at her dirty hands. Sadness pooled into her eyes.

He chuckled again. "Sofia, You are from my district.. you are a career.. obviously I trust you.." he said, kind of disappointed she didn't trust someone from her own district, yet that was probably the smartest thing to do. Aaron saw this whole game as a way to meet different people, he wasn't focusing on the whole survive part. He lowered the spear and rolled his eyes. "Is this good enough for you?"

"Oh," said Alyssa quietly. She looked down at her own palms. "I shouldn't have asked." She snuck a glance at the younger girl. Angela was nice enough, but Alyssa didn't know if she wanted an alliance yet. She'd always done better on her own, but this wasn't exactly a school project. This was life or death.

Angela shook her head "No its fine. I shouldn't have asked you, I guess i's just really nosy." Angela looked at Alyssa and knew that only one Tribute could live. She hoped if anyone won it would be Alyssa, she was really nice and all.

*Sigh* she laid back. This blood bath seemed to take forever.

Alyssa took a deep breath, acting on instinct. "Angela," she said, "I don't have any allies yet, and I'm not too strong on my own. Could we... maybe team up? Or something? I mean," she continued, "It's totally okay if you want to be on your own, but..." She let her voice trail off.
Boy, her mentor was going to kill her. She could practically hear his voice in her ear. "What are you thinking? You need to survive, Alyssa. That won't happen if you fall at the feet of every twelve-year-old in the arena!"

"Quite" I answer. "But what about them?" I nod to the other two careers. My seriousness couldn't prevent the smile appearing on my face. It's good to have someone to trust, even if it's only for a little while. I jump from the tree but don't approach yet. The others could still turn on me.

Angela sighed in relief then tried to hide it. "Hmmm..... I'm not sure..." She pretended to think for a second. "Okay I guess that will work." She finally agreed. Psshhh I was gonna say yeah all along, since I have no chance whatsoever on my own.

He smiled. "I can always talk to them, but I'm sure they will be fine with it, you.. are.. a.. career.." he said for the last time. He picked up his spear, but not in a way that he would be able to throw it properly. He reached out his bulky hand for her to join him. "Come with me.."

Alyssa grinned at Angela, more than a little relieved. If she'd said no, then... Well, she didn't want to think about who might've decided to turn on the other. "Excellent. And, as your ally, I am going to make you hold my bag while I show you what's in it." Not moving her leg, she removed the water purifier, first aid kit, and dried fruit from her bag. She left the dental floss inside, figuring that Angela really didn't need to know. Once she'd finished laying out her items, she reclaimed her bag and began stuffing equipment back inside.
