No, only royalty can become alicorns. What I will do:

I will clear out everyone's ponies and the member list after each remake. I have decided instead of first come first serve with the princesses and such, I will choose the best form. With pegasi and earth ponies and such, I will accept all forms, as those are first come first serve. I will make it so the gender positions are much more easy to make out.

So, do we just post the new forms here or what?
