I'm currently at Celadon City in the game.
Just asking, but did anyone move their old high level pokemon to HG or SS to beat the elite four? I put my two highest leveled (and strongest) pokemon on my HeartGold game because how badly I did with my HG pokemon.

I don't know if you needed to do this or anything, but since everyone put their current team in the first post, I might as well.
Lv. 50 male Croconaw
Lv. 50 Ho-oh
Lv. 40 female Red Gyarados
Lv. 93 female Empoleon (Pippy (I know, in Diamond all my pokemon have stupid names))
Lv. 78 male Garchomp
and a Lv. 12 Krabby I use for HM moves I can't teach to my normal party pokemon.

I did. I transferred all my competitive Pokemon to SS.

My competitive team is as follows, all level 100.
Temperance - Marowak (Cool points to anyone who catches this reference)
Aquana - Vaporeon
Bluebell - Espeon
Scar - Houndoom
Wendigo - Garchomp (Not after me! After the creature)
Heliosis - Leafeon

Stand-ins, the Pokemon I swap out depending on the situation. Also level 100.
Crocotta - Shiny Dragonite
Yaoi - Shiny Vaporeon
Kinsey - Jolteon
Balto - Arcanine
Ethan - Ninetales
Aconite - Meganium
Tank - Shiny Umbreon

Also, I am happy. C8 In 3 days I managed to breed an Adamant Male Larvitar with Dragon Dance, max out its EV points, and get it to a lvl 70 Tyranitar. Named it Snayups cuz that'll be the first thing people say when they see him:

Hey guys, I was wondering, what is a good ground Pokemon to use? I'm currently using Dugtrio, but the defence is rathe crap. >_<
I'm thinking of training my Swinub, but its also weak to fire, so I'm not sure if its a good choice. I have Soul Silver and I just beat Misty.

You should have access to Marowak if you fly back to the Safari Zone and complete the warden's challenges to get the items. And Marowak, while his defense is not that great, if you get a Jolly one with a Thick Club then look out world.
