Snake chuckled, doing as best he could to keep a steady, brisk pace. He weaved through the bushes, rocks, and trunks until, finally, he came to the pool he'd stumbled upon earlier. Though it was a common assumption that cats did not like water, Snake found himself so overheated that he began to trot into the clear water, enjoying how it soaked into his fur and cooled him down.

Somewhere behind the rider you've become, the hours of practice you've put in, the coaches who pushed you, the hard falls you've taken, the money you've spent, the miles you've hauled, the sweat, the tears, the blood, the blisters, the ripped jeans, the lame horse, the crazy horse, the "are you serious?" horse, and everything in between... Somewhere behind all of that is the fearless kid who fell in love with the sport, the horse, the life, and never looked back.

Zoe drank up all the water she could, then joined Snake in the water. She got a pleasant, refreshing feel from it. "Ermm...thankssss...Snakee...." Zoe murmured, not thanking cats very often, nor depending on them.

Snake's lopsided grin made a reappearance as he turned to look at Zoe. "You don't sound like you say that exceedingly often," he observed aloud, flicking his tail underwater. It momentarily distracted him, as the movements seemed slowed, heavier, which caught the tom's attention.

Zoe shrugged. "Well what can I say.." her voice trailed off as she began to chuckle. She swayed back and forth as she wadded around in the cool water.

Snake snorted playfully and began to walk away from her, mystified as to how his movements seemed so free and light on land, and yet so slow and bogged down in the water. He supposed the weight of his soaked fur had something to do with it. Snake began to reach the deeper part of the pool, and the white tom started to paddle instinctively to keep himself afloat.

Zoe speeded around in circles, splashing water with her paws. She drank a buckload more of water, then jumped out to take a break.

Snake paddled around in a few circles, but after a little bit, he found himself slightly tired from the extra work the water required. He paddled to where he could reach again, pulling himself out of the water. He walked over to a large, flat rock and plopped onto the stone, enjoying the warmth.

((Ugh I'm sorry. Dx I hate stuffy noses.))

Zoe laid down, grooming her wet paws. Cold water flicked off her slicked back fur. The she-cat purred, it feeling nice to have all that water off of her, she must admit. She was extremely content for the first time in a couple of days.

Once Snake was content with the relative dryness of his back-fur, he happily rolled over, exposing his belly to the warmth of the sun. Embarrassment was not a quality typically expressed through Snake, and he wasn't about to start now, no matter how ridiculous he looked; he was comfortable.

Zoe started laughing out loud, not even trying to contain herself. She got up, stretched, and slipped back down.
