I believe the official guide for rats under the guide directory on forums also names it the Natural Blue Rat. Given the design of the rat and resemblance to certain actual rats, the name seems fitting in my opinion.
The wiki is a copy of the forum guide.

Blue is what natural grey animals are called. For examples, type "Blue Kitten" into your image search and enjoy the adorableness that it returns.
Whatever name is more obvious to the users is what should be used, as that is what people will search for.
Perhaps Natural Blue/Grey Rat might be good as it will be picked up if people search for either blue or grey.

Blue and Gray should both be listed, I agree. It wouldn't be the first time we'd have two different but somewhat equally-used names for one pet (like the rarely-seen Nick Fennec/Chihuahua pet xD or the "Desert/Orange-swirl PPS" on the Advents List, or the U-Nick-orn/Nick Unicorn, etc...), so it shouldn't be too big of a deal ^^
I call the rat "gray"--I don't call it "blue" because I'm not familiar with animal coat pattern names or anything; however, I'm certain that there are many people on CS who are familiar with those kinds of things and the first thing they'll think of when they see that rat is "blue", not "gray".
Was your pet adopted December 18, any year, or December 24, 2011? It is most likely an older pet! CLICK ME to identify your pet!

I strongly suggest that it be listed "natural blue rat" as in the wiki. The reason, it is of the
natural colors theme--clearly a recurring theme on CS--and in nature (real life) the coat color is called "blue" and is a distinct coat color seen in rats. If it is based on a real life animal, it ought to be accurately identified using the correct terminology for that animal.
If you want to get really technical about rat varieties, here's a good site:
http://www.nfrs.org/varietiesrussian.htmlRussian Blue:

So, "Natural Blue" is simple and accurate: 'Natural' to indicate realistic coloring and 'Blue' as the most basic identification of its particular variety.

^ The Hippocampus store pets were listed as Sea Horses because people felt there were too many users around that didn't know what a Hippocampus was. The same could go for the rat, especially as it was not released with a natural litter. A lot of people looking for it will search for Grey (or Gray), including those that know its colour is technically blue (I refer to my blue cat as grey) so we should definitely include that in its name. We want the pet to be named what people are most likely to search for.

Definitely a good and valid point, of course blue refers to what it actually is in real life, but like that example, the point of the naming is to help CS users have an identifier for the pets and to be able to look for and search for them easily if for example they didn't happen to know the name. Sort of like the flower / toxic rat as well. Would definitely make sense and be nice to identify it as both a natural blue rat and gray / light gray (whatever type of gray or mix we'd want to call it) rat.
