welcome! thats pretty cool, but whats wrong with the tabby tiger? like, i get it's a cross breed and all, but whats wrong with it? it looks fine... (on google images, anyway )

It's inbreeding. Mothers breeding with sons. Fathers breeding with daughters. Sisters breeding with brothers. I think it's from human interference. But, I do agree, they are lovely. But ghost tigers are the best. All white with only faint gray stripes. Now that is cool.

Just wanted to add in a bit more information.
There were reports of Golden Tabby Tigers being shot in the wild during the early 20th century so they are not made in captivity, though through poor breeding plans this mutation of genes can be encouraged. Essentially what happens is if a normal orange tiger receives a recessive gene (known as the wide band gene) from both parents it becomes a Golden. If, however, a white tiger receives the same recessive gene from both parents, it becomes a Snow White tiger. The Snow White tiger is what you are referring to, "ghost" is just a nickname people have passed around when they don't know what to call it. Both the Golden Tabby and the Snow White tigers are receiving the same recessive genes so you can't really support one and not the other. White tigers are actually the ones most affected by inbreeding. I have seen so many come in with crossed-eyes and mental retardation as well as immunodeficiency problems but that's just the sad state of the world.

I'm also writing a book I intend to publish about when Tigers have to go through in life with humans. Poaching, circuses, and private tiger owners bother me so much.

Also, I just wanted to say one more thing.
While poaching of tigers is a threat, the biggest threat to their livelihood is actually their loss of habitat. People often don't consider this but every time a city expands out into the wilderness, some animal is getting pushed out. Tigers are solitary hunters which cover vast territories and now they are being squished together by cities on all sides. This is causing some to starve, others to die fighting each other, and more to meet their demise at the wrong end of a frightened person's gun as they pass through streets where hunting trails used to be.

Just something to take into consideration. Unless the human population is decreased drastically, there simply will be no more room for tigers in the wild in ~20 years. The best bet is to support rescues and sanctuaries and zoos which is where future generations will be able to see these tigers. In a perfect world, tigers could be free and run in the wild like they used to, but with the explosion of the human population it simply does not look likely. So keep supporting the tigers (and other endangered wildlife) but don't forget to support those being cared for by humans because those are the animals that will still be around when there is no wild left.

yeah... what's most sad about that ^ is that the decrease of wild habitat space is also killing so many other animals, there are only, like, 30 or something Amur Leopards left in the world, and i'm pretty sure they're all in Russia somewhere... not really sure... btw thanks Fixius all that was really helpful! i am now more knowledgable!! i had no idea about the white-tiger/golden-tabby thing! it's actually kind of sad... when i grow older and get a job etc, i was going to donate to tigers, but since discovering about the Amur leopards, i think i might donate or sponser/adopt one of them, instead, as they are in greater need...
