[Pumpkin Cupcake]

Happy to confide in the tom, and forget about her lose of prey, she lay down next to him. "My father was Rowanstar, and mother Hailcloud," She mewed in response, not sure how much detail Thorntail really wanted to know. "Rowanstar died moons ago, just after I was born. Hailcloud died not long after. After he died, she found out that my father had fallen in love with another cat, and had kits with her. I guess the lose of not only my father's presence, but his love, was too much for her to handle; and she killed herself." Russetpaw's voice no longer shook with grief. She had come to terms with her family's lose, and decided that she no longer wished to mourn. "What about your parents?" She asked.

Thorntail listened to this with sadness yet interest. After she ended, he began. "I never really knew my parents. I think my mother was named Goldenleaf, and my father was unknown. He was a loner. My mother left to be with my dad as loners as soon as I became an apprentice. Literally, left the ceremony. I haven't seen or heard of them since then, so I am most likely sure they are dead by now." Thorntail sighed before shaking his head and smiling. "But the past is the past, right? We have a long future ahead of ourselves."

Firestorm nods, "I'll get Silentpaw." He races to camp and calls Silentpaw, then back to Rainpelt. "She's kitting." He tells her.

Silentpaw nods; she already had the needed herbs. She gives a her a stick... {Fade}

Russetpaw rain the tip of her tail down his shoulder in comfort, feeling for his loss, though not saying anything. She had always hated when people would apologise for her parents, so the last thing she wanted to do was exactly that. "Absolutely," She agreed, taking a bite of the rabbit. Once she had finished her mouthful, she looked back up at Thorntail, "My only wish is to do better for my kits than my mother did," She murmured. She had always feared that she'd end up the same way, never being there as they grew old. The thought of kits made her smile, she couldn't wait to have her own one day!

Zinniapaw couldn't help but over hear Firestorm as he ran back into camp. She followed Silentpaw, hoping to help the medicine cat.

"I know you will be an amazing mother," Thorntail replied, twining his half-tail with Russetpaw's. "Say, did you ever wonder what your kits may look like? Just a random question." He grinned and layed down with the apprentice she-cat, purring gently and licking her ears.

Russetpaw nuzzled his cheek as he praised him, great full that he believed so. "Well...." She purred, closing her eyes as he licked between her ears, and trying to imagine what they'd look like. "A long, fluffy coat like mine," She began, still purring, "But the same patterns as their father." She finished. "What about?" She asked, "If you had kits, what do you think they'd look like?"

Thorntail paused his licking and flicked the tip of his tail in thought. "They would probably have short fur, unless their mother was long-furred," he gave Russetpaw a wink before going on, "and they would have black markings on them. Your kit descriptions sound better than mine!" he teased, purring loudly as he nuzzled Russetpaw.

Russetpaw's purring grew, and she buried her head in his neck fur. "They sound perfect..." She mewed, enjoying his scent, and closeness. Now, all she wanted, was to be with the cat she knew she loved. Thorntail.

"Just like you," Thorntail whispered into her ear, drinking in her sweet scent as he drifted into a dazy dream. He appeared in a forest, and he was hunting with Russetpaw, enjoying the sun on his back and the scent of rabbit drifting around them.

Russetpaw became to lick soothingly between his ears as he drifted into sleep, her purr continuing to roll gently from her maw as she gazed down lovingly at the tom.

Rainpelt bit the stick and faded. Four lovely kits are born. She let go of the stick and licks them.
