Perhaps. And I suppose secret stalkers are better than none at all. ^^;
So then. Find of a long entry today. Heh. Heh.

Entry Fifty-One
So. I have no idea if I'm going to do this right or not, but we'll give it a shot. I don't really have that much of a choice in the matter. Kylie was all like "Okay, you get to write this next part because it's going to be more interesting from your perspective." I've learned that it was never a good idea to say no to her, so I shrugged and agreed.
You may know me as her boyfriend Ash. I'm trying my hardest to not go through previous entries, just to see what kinds of [enter curse word here] she's said about me. (She told me not to write any cuss words down in her journal in case her father got a hold of it--didn't want to get in trouble for having a boyfriend that isn't afraid to curse like a sailor--so you might see that "[enter curse word here]" a few times.) And... yeah. That's it. So then, let's get on with it.
* * *
I didn't want to leave Kylie there with Bleu and the other demonwolves, even if they were currently in nothing but shadow form. I had been one of those things for a long time. A long, long time. I knew how dangerous they were. I knew that they could kill her in a second if they wanted to. She wouldn't even know she was going to die. One minute she'd be pacing around, trying to figure out how to escape, and the next she'd black out and never see the light of day again. But there was no point in fighting with her, so I nodded and started running towards town with the others close behind.
"Nate, Aurora, you two get over to Kylie's house and make sure her dad doesn't go outside and nothing gets in. You don't know how much he means to her," I barked. They nodded and broke away, running towards the house Marshall would be hiding in. The sky was starting to become blacked out by all the shadowforms, a sure sign that the ones that had swarmed out around us back at the cave weren't even half of them.
That wasn't supposed to be possible. The majority of demonwolves had been wiped out a long time ago, save for a couple hundred. It wasn't hard to believe that there might be one or two wandering around the small town, but it was next to impossible for me to come to terms with the fact that Bleu had actually saved thousands of them and was now unleashing them onto the world. He didn't know what he was doing, he just didn't! He would not build and rule an empire. He was going to destroy the world.
The world was going to end if we couldn't stop it.
"Ash, tell me you have a solid plan," Stephanie begged from beside me. "I've done my research and I know what this means. Please tell me you know how to deal with this."
I closed my eyes and sighed. "Yeah, I know how to handle it. But it's dangerous. Very dangerous. And if I do it right, I just might die along with the rest of them."
There was a moment of silence. "Ash, you can't do anything that could hurt you," Henry said. "Kylie would kill all of us if we let anything happen to you."
I turned on him. "It's me or the world!" I spat. "Believe me, I don't want to do anything to hurt her, and that's why I have to do it this way! Just look at the sky, Henry! There's no way we can take all of these guys down and not get hurt. I'd rather sacrifice myself and let it all be over with than try to keep myself safe and let the rest of you get hurt and watch as the world gets destroyed. I know how to end this, but you all have to trust me. Even if it takes my life, it's worth it and you need to know that. You need to let me do this."
Kandi stepped forward. "I don't know what you're going to do and I don't want you to die, but go. Go do whatever it is that you have to do. We'll take care of Kylie for you. Go save the world, Ash. I'll tell Kylie that you did it for the good of the world."
I nodded. "Thank you," I whispered before turning and running towards my house as fast as I could. I got there to find that the part of town I lived in hadn't yet been overrun by the demonwolves. But it was only a matter of time before my street ended up like the rest--full of demons and fear and tears and blood. I pushed the thought out of my head and stepped inside.
I hadn't been to my house in too long. It was cold and dusty. Cobwebs were starting to form in the corners. I ignored all of it and walked down into my little secret library. Well, my basement. Same thing.
I started skimming the shelves, desperate to find that one book. The covers were solid silver, so it wasn't too hard to find. Silver covers and ancient yellow pages could only mean one thing. This book was ancient and precious, meant only to be used in an emergency. I had acquired (stolen) that book a long time ago, just to be safe. I laid it down on the table and opened it. I flipped through the pages as fast as I could without tearing them.
Eventually I came across the one with the drawing of demonwolves. It showed their natural form, as well as the others, including the way they looked as shadows. I read through it as quickly as I could. The book clearly stated how to take out all the demonwolves in the world.
Yes. The entire world.
In ancient times, they made some pretty powerful spells. They were highly superstitious and religious, so they had to have something they thought would protect them from the demons. And their protection spells actually worked. Only once before had the Riddance Spell been used, and the only reason demonwolves had survived after its use was that some idiot had thought it would be a good idea to keep demonwolf DNA hidden off somewhere. The Riddance Spell focused only on the bizarre DNA inside a living being and not the DNA being kept in tubes, so the race lived. (Yeah, even back then there were geniuses who thought to store bits and pieces of animals and, yes, demons.)
Which was exactly why my life was at risk. Even if I hadn't been a true demonwolf in a long time, I knew there were still bits of it floating around inside me. The Spell would lock onto those bits and destroy them, possibly destroying me in the process. But if I had to destroy myself to destroy the rest of them and make sure they never got farther than that tiny little town, it was well worth it.
I took the book and walked back out into the street. Just as I had feared, the shadows were starting to overrun the street. I looked away as a rather protective parent tried to swat them away from their child.
They never stood a chance.
I ran back through town, avoiding the shadows where ever possible. I ran into a few that were unwilling to let me pass, but I made quick work with them by using a simply Death Spell. Nothing to special. Even a rookie could use a Spell like that.
I know this all sounds crazy, demons in the form of shadows and Spells able to kill them. But sometimes the craziest things are the truest.
Hidden away in the forest was Bleu's den, and that was where I went. The instructions were clear: To use the Riddance Spell, you first had to use a Knockout Spell to knock the demonwolves' leader. Usually they wouldn't have a leader, but if it comes down to a time when you have to use the Riddance Spell, they have to have a leader. They're evil, but not evil enough to decide to take over the world without a little push. The best way to use the Knockout Spell was to go to the leader's home. I knew that Bleu didn't live in those caves; they were like an apartment complex for the demonwolves to live in until they were ready to attack. The reason the home was the best place to go to use the spell was that the home was where the single place they were most attached to. Hurt the home, hurt them.
I sat down in the middle of the den and muttered a few words. Light sparked from the pages of the book and wound it's way around the room. I grabbed the book and charged out of the den, just in time to turn around and see the light seep into the rock and blast all the evil away. It destroyed every ounce of evil in those walls. I grinned, knowing Bleu was probably taking a serious hit.
I carefully walked through the forest to where Bleu was, near the caves. He was passed out on the ground, his demonwolf friends looking back and forth between Kylie and their passed out leader. I used the opportunity.
I jumped out of the trees and stood over Bleu's body. The demonwolves almost lunged, but they thought better of it and kept their prisoner between them. I started growling more foreign words and watched as they seemed to get weaker and weaker. Even I started to feel a little dizzy. Still, I finished the Spell and waited.
Red light flashed from the pages of the book. It sped towards the demonwolves, pushing its way through their chests and to their hearts. One by one, they slowly collapsed. When the ones surrounding Kylie were dropped dead and had returned to their regular forms, the light left them and crawled its way to me.
I didn't fight it as the red overtook me.
