He chuckled. "And what kind of friend would that make me?" He asked, easing the rocking to hault and looking down. "Nope, I'm here 'till the end." He said, smirking confidently. He was never one to leave behind someone in need and he wouldn't start now.

Dream grabbed his hand crying trying to pull away from the woman "MOTHER STOP IT!!!"

Jake was rather surprised to see that this was Dream's mother. Nice woman. He dodged her hand and tried to help Dream get away from her mother, even though he knew that he probably wasn't getting on her mother's good side.

Some woman... No wonder she doesn't have very many good memories, Jake thought as he stood in front of her. He didn't know what to say as her mother left. Once she did, he turned around and looked at Dream with a worried expression. "Dream, are you okay?" What a stupid question. Of course she wasn't okay. Why did he even bother asking? If the situation hadn't been the way it was, Jake probably would have hit himself. Well, he still did, but mentally.
