Claire Russo.
Claire startled at the sudden outburst from the alpha, coffee sloshing dangerously close to the edge of her cup. She steadied her hand with the other and then raised her head to see what had gotten him so worked up. He had yelled out a name; Farren, the younger girl who was part of the pack with them - she was missing. Now that she actually thought about it, Claire hadn't seen the girl at all since the previous night; and even then her memories were sketchy at best. This development didn't bode well for the already tense atmosphere, and James was already pretty angry. In fact, she'd go as far as to say enraged.
The young woman moved from where she stood and distanced herself from the center of the group. She wasn't a coward, but she was smart enough to move before things got ugly. And, as more pack members got riled up, that seemed to be the direction that it was heading. Unfortunately for Jessie, James' anger seemed to be directed at her for the moment. This isn't gonna be pretty... Claire thought to herself, taking a tentative sip of her coffee as she leaned back against the wall. She was bothered by the news, of course; but whilst the males seemed to completely forget themselves, she tried to keep a reign on her emotions and work through it rationally. It would do no one any good to lose the internal battle with their wolf - especially in the middle of a crowded room.

FARREN -
THE 'LITTLE' ONE

I don't like walking around
this old and empty house.
So hold my hand, I'll walk
with you, my dear. The
stairs creak as I sleep,
It's keeping me awake.
It's the house telling you
to close your eyes.

Some days I can't even
dress myself.It's killing
me to see you this way.
Cuz though the truth
may vary. this ship will
carry, our bodies safe
to shore.

As the painful ropes bound her to the chipped wooden chair, she found it hard not to restrain her crying. “They won’t come for me!” she screamed, her lungs filling with an aching sensation as she bellowed. “They don’t need another tag-along slowing them down!” she continued in her futile protest. “We should kill you know then” a voice murmured, in a voice barely audible. “That’s where you’re wrong, kid. Every pack needs its young, the future generation. I don’t know how they handle you. Screaming, crying, you’re a baby. A baby. Cry, scream, they can’t here you, but they are coming. They are bound to come. The message got out alright. I assure you. They will be plotting...” the seemingly masculine voice trailed off; completely unable to hear any further of the words that were allegedly part of a sentence. Pathetically, the eleven year old whimpered, yet still felt traces of anger inside her after those offensive remarks by the male of the rival pack. “Why did you packs fall out in the first place?” she enquired, traces of both anger and fear was clearly reflected in her tone, and her scent. Callous and cold-hearted, the teenager cackled, as a witch would in a fable. “Kid, you wouldn’t understand.” He replied, his voice echoing in the rooms as if it had grew with renewed confidence, or possibly hatred. “I would. People say I am intelligent for my age.” The child confidently argued. “So what, you can do your times tables, maybe you can do basic algebra. It’s different.” He retorted, a clear sense of annoyance in his words. “Tell me.” she whispered, determined to find out the whole truth. “No.” The man yelled, and he stood. From then onwards, the only thing that was clear to her was the sound of footsteps slowly descending, then the sound of a door closing. Before resuming to full consciousness, the droplets of small bullets of blood splattered onto her wrists, the source from her nose.

Sora found herself on the floor. She couldn't think how she ended up there, but everything had happened so fast. The tension in the room was overpowering, overwhelming and it had been hard to breath.

Down here, on the tile floor, it was cooler and easier to breath. Being on the floor was good. Submissive. She braced her hands on both sides of her body, supporting herself.

Sora wondered if it had changed to this this since her sister had been targeted by James, and she had been sitting right next to her. Not to mention the other wolves around. Wolves either backing away slightly like Claire, or wolves ready to leap into battle like Lake.

It was a confusing mess and this is what Sora had grew up in. Yet every once in a while something surprised her and she did her best to follow orders and stay in line, not wanting to get noticed.

Sora breathed quietly now, hiding beneath the counter as she waited to hear what would happen. She soon drew her arms around her knees and stared at James' bare feet from beneath her position under the table. A cool draft from the open door made her shiver, but she didn't think it was from being cold.

Tobias snarled into his cup of coffee at James' snappish remark and threat, but he said nothing more on the matter, preferring not to make a scene in the current setting. Besides, he was feeling a bit rundown from the previous night and didn't think he could quite handle a battle of willpower at the moment. And so he just listened to James take inventory of the pack. He took a mental count as well. The realization that two were missing came a split second after James'. Instantly he knew Farren was one of them. She was just a pup, everyone's little sister.

He threw his mug in the sink without paying much attention, causing an unnecessarily loud crack as the porcelain broke, dark liquid staining the sink as it dribbled down he drain. He moved over to James who seemed to be taking his sweet time giving orders to find her. "We need to form a rescue team, the rest of the pack will stay here," his tone was confident, it always was. Tobias stared directly into his superior's eyes, normally a challenge, but now he seemed almost like he was trying to help. What people didn't seem to realize though was that Tobias was never trying not to help. The sole reason power struggles ever happened was because he had the pack's best interest in mind and knew that he could lead them better. Right now he knew wasn't the time to challenge James. The smallest member of their pack was in dire need of a rescue, and time was not something they could risk wasting.

"We can leave Jessie in charge of the ones we leave here," Tobias suggested, glancing over at Jessie as he did so. "Give them a time frame, and if we don't return within that frame then she can send the rest of the pack at her discretion." He continued staring at James. Hard.

The anger, tension, and slight bits of fear became so tangible Kaleena couldn't take a deep breath. "James, they said they'd be expecting us around five or so, to make a deal..." she started to say, but it was clear James wasn't interested in making a deal. "We're not making a deal! We're taking Farren back!" he snarled, and Kaleena flinched away, unused to the brunt of his anger. Kaleena was situated comfortably in the middle of the pack hierarchy, and had watched people move up and get shot down around her for years. She was kind to everyone, and often was the one stitching people up, and offering her home for them when they got in trouble (She owned her own house, since she didn't prefer staying with everyone else all the time). She was usually quite tolerated by even the high ups, and not feared by the lower ends. James didn't yell at her often either, but if he did, then he was quite angry.

The girl moved back quickly, trying not to bump against anyone in her haste in the crowded kitchen. She ended up near the fridge, near the counter that the sink was set in. James was glaring at Jessie in particular, frowning deeply as he tried to think. They needed sleep over all else, or nothing would be won- they'd only receive more injuries and perhaps have even another person be taken. "I'll deal with you later," he ground out, directed at Jessie. HE was definitely not happy that he had assigned her to watch Farren the night before, but she'd been unable to even do that. Everyone had a tendency to veiw JAmes as rather mean, and he didn't try to contradict that, but he didn't usually dole out punishment in front of everyone, and it was usually letting people off quite lightly.

He had already made up his mind about what was to be done, but he new the others wouldn't agree. When Tobias desided to speak up, the second in command grit his teeth, trying not to get too angry and start a fight here. "Oh, come on, that cup was nice," Kaleena said in exasperation, reaching in the sink to start cleaning up the shards. She'd flinched when it cracked, but she didn't want to leave the mess. She was rather particular about leaving messes, and was often seen cleaning up. "No, we will not," James said, drawing himself up to full height, staring down at Tobias with a glare. "We're going to get some rest. Everyone," he said, lifting his gaze to look at everyone as he said this. "Later today, when everyone is rested, then we can go out. Not before. Anyone have a problem?"

Chase Evans.
Chase was one of the last to rise, exhausted after a tough night. His head pounded in rhythm with the beat of his heart, and he could feel his pulse beating beneath his skin. It was hypersensitivity, he knew that much; but it didn't make it any easier to bear. He didn't often have that much trouble controlling his lupine form being as docile as he was, but the previous night had been particularly straining. Unfortunately he couldn't remember why it was any different.
The young man eventually scrambled up from his place by the foot of the stairs, his limbs protesting against the movement. A soft groan slipped from his mouth, despite his attempts to keep any discomfort hidden. It would do him no good to show weakness, but sometimes it couldn't be helped - although stiffness was a sorry excuse for letting his guard down; he had gone through a lot worse. In fact, as he paid more attention to his body, he began to notice that it wasn't just the after-effects of a rough night spent on the floor. He had various scrapes and bruises along his torso, and a small gash on his left calf. Chase gritted his teeth as he began to make his way towards the kitchen where most of the pack seemed to be gathered; it seemed that being aware of his injuries made them hurt a hell of a lot more.
However, as he reached the doorway that led through to the kitchen, he managed to catch the end of the conversation. One thing that stood out most was that Farren was missing, most likely taken; and after a moment he realised that his short, but painful journey had been for naught. James was ordering them all to rest. Chase didn't move from his spot, because he was still a little confused and unwilling to move and strain his leg more. It was a small laceration; but it hurt like a b-tch. He didn't argue though; that wasn't like him nor did he want to. Of course he was worried about Farren, but James plan made sense.

Lake backed away outside with a snarl. He was able to slide the patio door shut without it slamming it. He trudged down the wooden steps towards the fence-less backyard that was neatly trimmed, coffee forgotten. His breathing was uneven and ragged as he fought to control the anger in him.

Lake knew he wouldn't be this mad at James if it was a pack member other than Farren. Just thinking about her away from the safety of the pack made him want to tear through the city until he found her. However, an order was an order and he wanted to be ready for James, so they could hunt down whoever took her.

He veered away from the woods where he had been instinctively heading, and made his way back towards the house. His wolf argued, wanting to run and chase down Farren. Instead he used a different door and traveled down the quiet hallway towards one of the smaller rooms. The house James had was huge and one of the rooms, an old laundry room perhaps, had been turned into a small medical room for the pack.

Lake flicked on the lights, blinking unhappily as the bright white room lit up. He strode throughout the room, looking for the materials to fix his open wound. It wasn't like the pack could go into the hospital and asked to be stitched up. Perhaps sometimes, but not when you had easily recognizable claw wounds running down the front of your chest.

Lake soon made quick work of his chest as he used a tough thread to stitch his wound together. His teeth gritted through the process, but soon he was using a white bandage to wrap around his torso. The process of tending his wounds calmed him slightly, the pain clearing his head.

His other wounds were already almost healed so he left the room after cleaning up. Lake doubt he would be able to sleep. How could he when Farren was missing. The young man soon halted in the middle of hallway. How had someone just come in and take her? A stone hard frown lingered on his face as he again began moving.

This time headed into the living room where he would be could wake if there was any sign of people entering or leaving the front or back door. He eased himself onto the couch and pulled up his legs beside him with a frustrated growl.

{Tobias ||: 24

:|| ●-○-● ||:

There's no surrender, 'cause there's no retreat,
The bells are sobbing, in this monster land,
We are the descendants of giant men.
This wasn't something he was backing down from. His temper got the better of his aversion to make a scene, and he growled deep in his throat when James so blatantly disagreed with what Tobias thought was the best course of action; if he had been closer to something solid he probably would have punched it. "They'll be expecting us later. So why don't we ambush them now? The longer we wait the more damaged she'll be. And there's always that chance they're bluffing about the deal and she'll be dead before we even get there." His words had an edge to them. Not a particularly challenging edge, but it was an edge nonetheless. "Yes, we're all tired, but think about Farren. Clearly some of us have enough energy to go get her without a hitch."

Tobias was actually quite exhausted as well, but rest wouldn't come to him. Especially not now. Sleep often eluded him, and he had learned to live with that; he knew he couldn't be the only one who could run on little to no sleep. And James of all people should have already been out the door by now, tired or not. Aside from that, while he knew that obedience and respect for superiors of the pack was important and basically bred into all of their inner wolves - if not there by instinct alone - he was expecting more of the lower high-tier rans to jump in and question James' decision to wait. Apparently he had seriously misjudged his own pack, or else their wolf instinct was too powerful to overcome. Tobias wasn't that way. Not that he held no respect for those higher than him; but technically James was only second-in-command, not their alpha. It just so happened that he thought he could lead the pack better the majority of the time. That didn't mean respect wasn't there.

Simera19

In a dream I was a werewolf
My soul was filled with crystal light
Lavender ribbons of rain sang
Ridding my heart of mortal fight
Simera sat on one of the counters, kind of looking akin to a puppy with a tail between her legs. However, rather than engaging in the current conversation in even the most rudimentary way, she seemed to be more interested in plucking blades of grass off her spandex shorts. She didn't make eye contact with anyone, and she especially hadn't said anything since she'd said those two little words to Tobias. This was a matter to be handled by the higher ranks anyway; she had no place speaking up about something.

Let's paint the picture of the perfect place
They got it better than what anyone's told you
They'll be the king of hearts and you're the queen of spades
And we'll fight for you like we were your soldiers

I know we got it good, but they got it made
And the grass is getting greener each day
I know things are looking up, but soon they'll take us down
Before anybody's knowing our name, they got

All the right friends in all the right places
So yeah, we're going down, they got
All the right moves and all the right faces
So yeah, we're going down

Do you think I'm special? Do you think I'm nice?
Am I bright enough to shine in your spaces?
Between the noise you hear and the sound you like
Are we just sinking in the ocean of faces?

It can't be possible, that rain can fall
Only when it's over right here
The sun is shining everyday but it's far away
Over the world they say, they got, they got

All the right friends in all the right places
So yeah, we're going down, they got
All the right moves and all the right faces
So yeah, we're going down

Everybody knows, everybody knows where were going
Yeah, we're going down, they said
Everybody knows, everybody knows where were going
Yeah, we're going down

It don't matter what you see, I know I could never be
Someone that'll look like you
It don't matter what you say, I know I could never face
Someone that could sound like you

All the right friends in all the right places
So yeah, we're going down, they got
All the right moves and all the right faces
So yeah, we're going down

jessie

Jessie watched James apprehensively, her head ducked slightly. He was attempting to control himself but she still received the brunt of his anger. There was a pointed glare being directed her way and she was quite sure she would be on the receiving end of some form of punishment later. He confirmed her thoughts with a stiff growl and five concise words that left her tense and anxious.

Jessie wasn't startled by Tobias' authoritative tone- he had always struck her as particularly brazen. It was what he was saying that surprised her. Jessie had already lost the girl. Surely leaving someone so incapable with any sort of responsibility would be frowned upon by the other pack members. She looked at all of them, wondering their feelings on this. They were upset- that much was obvious and plausible. What Jessie was trying to discern was how much of their fury was directed towards her. She didn't take long to think about it because Tobias was not giving up. He spoke heatedly back to James, confident in himself and what he was saying.

Jessie could understand both of the higher-ranked males. Everyone needed rest right now. They were worn out. Jessie assumed that whoever had taken Farren was aware they would be tired after the full moon, which meant that Tobias had an excellent point. Farren's captors wouldn't expect a comeback very soon, and that would give the pack an advantage- the element of surprise. But with everyone so exhausted, would they have enough strength to get the girl back? Splitting the pack in two was definitely reasonable. If things went awry for the first team, the second could be sent in as back-up.

She silently agreed with Tobias. He had thought the plan out well. Jessie could only think of one fault in it- was the pack able to go without tiring too quickly? Even with the few who still had strength, some were injured and no one had gotten a real night's worth of sleep, so it could be dangerous. Frowning deeply and still in a submissive position under the second-in-command's glare, Jessie decided not to voice her thoughts on the matter. Her opinion would not be appreciated under the circumstances, and she wasn't even sure what the smartest way to go about things was, anyway. The best thing she could do was remain quiet unless spoken to and hopefully be left alone. She could follow guidelines better that way.
