activity) coming off the bus and waiting for her partner's name to be called, hoping for it to be someone she could grow to love

light brown hair flowing with the wind,
flip-flops crunching on the ground,
her feet hitting the leaves as she got off the bus.
trying to make no sound-

smiling, she makes her way through the crowd,
finding herself before the counselor with the list,
she stands on tip-toes waiting for her pairing,
more excited than a girl that had never been kissed-

she hoped silently for someone special,
one who would weave into her heart,
gaites tried to be quiet, looking less excited now,
could it be the one who she could not part?

the list carries information, important to her,
gaites stood relaxed and intently listening,
her eyes glanced from the counselor to the paper,
and she swore the ink by her name was glistening-

with hope.

while looking around, sees Gaites in line
behind her, and, in love with the scenery,
wanted to talk about it. This is just a

The trees glistened red,
Crimson like the blazing flames,
Echoed in the pond.

The sky blue, azure,
Clouds ivory and purer
Than the graceful swans.

It was beautiful,
It was out of reach,
But only barely.

Turning to face Gaites,
Awe and nostalgia stirring,
"Isn't it lovely?"
