Name: Irezumi, japanese for inking, or tattooing. Thought it suited her unique coat, and it shortens down nicely to Zumi ^^

Personality:
*Curious as a cat, Irezumi get's her slender nose into everything, although it can be hard to tell- she has an alarming habit of blending right into the background where ever she is, and is so silent it can be difficult to notice as she sneaks a peak at whatever has interested her.
*As social as a butterfly, Zumi enjoys meeting new people, visiting new places, and trying new things. Each new memory enriches her life, and she is one to live life to the fullest, and try anything at least once. Plus sharing her experiences with others is a particular joy of hers.
*Regal as a Queen, Irezumi takes over situations subconsciously, and is a natural leader. Even Aludra has been know to mindlessly agree with her, until remembering herself.
*Knowledgeable as an owl, Irezumi knows a little bit of knowledge about almost anything, and has deep information about her interests. Teased by Bast as a "Walking encyclopedia", or a "Living Dictionary," Zumi is an invaluable companion to any traveler. Her learning also applies to other creatures; she makes accurate snap character judgments, and can talk through problems like a therapist. She is a special friend to Shivali.

Her most cherished memory:
She couldn't have been more than five hours old. Already she was surrounded by love and stories. Like glittering, adorned emeralds, her fellow Tribal Elkrin praised the birth of the new foal. Her mother stood protectively by her side while her father beamed with pride. With wide eyes she watched as her parents moved together, their intricate markings combinding and changing with each ripple of their coats. She watched, awed as the symbols told of her ancestors, all the way down to her, and then at last, her name. Irezumi. For the first time in her life, she smiled, and her pristine green coat slowly changed to form her first memory- her naming ceremony in front of her tribe and parents.
Now the memory is bittersweet; the tribe has shrunk in numbers, and the remaining members agreed to split in order to record more of the world. Now, Irezumi is lonely, and would welcome friends who see the world as she does, as a world of life and opportunity to be appreciated and recorded for the future generations. Thus, her second favorite memory is meeting Cei, Serca, and Shivali. What better runes to share her memories with than two storyteller runes and a nucturne rune?

Winter was finally fading away, and Spring was once more reclaiming the earth. Finally snapping out of her moody winter lethargy, Aludra raced through the woods, sunlight and growth flowing off of her into the slumbering forest. A lone Elkrin noticed the change, and followed the feeling of lightness. Zumi had tired of Winter's somber beauty, and begun to wish for the flashy vainness of Spring. This was what the trail she followed felt like. She gradually picked up pace until she breezed through the trees at a blistering, but effortless pace. And then almost collided with a human; she swerved at the extreme last second and skidded to a halt. Just a flash of surprise from the young woman before she smiled and greeted her, "Hello, I am Bast. Not to pry, but you are a tribal Elkrin, yes?"For a moment, Irezumi almost turned and ran away. But that gosh darned curiosity demanded to know how and why this person recognized her coat. She slowly nodded once, and the lady continued talking, "It's just, my pictish rune, Serca, had hoped to meet one of you on our travels through this area of the world. Cei would be delighted to meet you to!" Zumi tilted her head as if to ask, "What's a Cei?" Bast laughed, "Cei is Serca's son- he's a folklore rune. He could carve the shapes of all your memories painted in your coat." Who was this lady, Zumi thought, to tempt her with such talk of potential friends? She'd had plans for today! She wanted to know where the delightful feeling of Spring sprung from. But now... she had to meet these runes. As if oblivious to Zumi's internal grumbling, Bast continued talking, "And Shivali is just the best singer. I'm sure she's with Serca. She is a nocturne rune. But I really need to be getting after Aludra. Com'on! The others will find us sooner or later- but if we don't find Aludra, she might get a bit caught up in the new season. Then it'll be Summer before we find her again! Err, she's Spring. That is, the Spring ancient." Zumi stepped closer and offered a leg to Bast. "Really???" she asked, amazed. Then before the noble Elkrin could change her mind, Bast slipped up. Riding Zumi was nothing like riding Aludra. Where Aludra was boundless energy that leaped over the ground, eating it whole, Irezumi was like a river that flowed over the ground like a river over pebbles. A small brown fluffy body plummeted down and caught Bast's waistband.
A tribal Elkrin! Serca exclaimed, I must talk to her!
Bast could hear the echoes of conversation as they continued their travels towards Spring. Before long, another feathered body flew down and caught a ride behind Serca. Cei happily began gabbing at the Elkrin as well. And then before they had traveled another mile, Shivali glided down beside the emerald pelt and listened in quietly. As the group moved, the feeling of lightness grew stronger, and Zumi's strides came quicker. Then in a clearing they found a slender lady spinning, her arms extended and her long chestnut hair flying like a cape around her. Pollen like fairy dust flew from her fingers, and the smile on her face could have captured an orge's heart with it's beauty. Irezumi drew to a stop before the lady who shifted into her dragon form. The two touched noses, and Spring said,
It is so very, very nice to meet you Irezumi.
With a greeting like that, Bast knew Aludra wouldn't be letting the beautiful Elkrin escape them anytime soon.
