That was when Zona was born, at 7:23 PM. She was born in 1994, and her birthday is coming up in a few months!

Zo loves her birthstone. She wears it a lot, too.
-

Zona has her aquamarine necklace, sometimes two gold earings on each ear, a checkered sock on her front right leg, a cross necklace and a few golden bracelets.
-
Favorite accessory; Her golden bracelets.
She has 4 golden bracelets that she wears, either the four on one front leg or two on each front legs. There's a story behind them that Zona thinks about whenever she puts them on.
-
How she got the bracelets; By an old oak tree, but there's a story behind it...
She found them an old oak tree by the river, and then she began to wear them. As she was walking away, she noticed a young JMD wandering around, crying. She looked at Zona and saw that she had the bracelets on.
The JMD ran over, wailing. She said how those were her bracelets, and that she wanted them back. So, Zo quickly gave them back.
She left, and then came back a few days later. The young JMD was crying by the oak tree again, and she didn't notice Zona. Zona gave the JMD's shoulder a light shake. "Hey, are you alright..?" Zona asked quietly.
The JMD looked up and sniffled. "N-no. They t-took my bracelets!" She buried her nose in her tail.
Zona frowned, not understanding much. "Well, I can help get them back, if you want. Who did it?"
The female breathed in heavily. "Those-those mean guys! I was drying my bracelets in the sun after swimming, and they snatched them away!" her voice crackled. "My grandmother gave them to me. Their so special..."
Zona felt a pang for the young one. "I'm sorry to hear that. Where did they go?"
"One of the biggest ones put them on and laughed, before going into the water. His friends followed him," the voice was getting quieter, as if she was starting to calm down with her tears.
Zona nodded, and went over to the bank of the river. She could feel the eyes of the young JMD on her as she slunk in, then was pulled away, downstream, by the current. She doggy-paddled to keep her head above the water.
Why didn't I just fly..? She asked herself mentally as her foot hit a rock underneath the surface. She gritted her teeth as her foot was jabbed into a sharp rocks side. The current kept her moving along swiftly, giving her no time to dwell over the pain shooting up her leg.
Then the laughter hit her. She looked up quickly to see the three male JMDs hanging out on a thick tree branch. One was wearing the bracelets. Zona narrowed her eyes. He
was pretty big. The beach dipped with his weight, though he was the closest to the trunk. He looked like half the size of an elephant. Zona growled under her breath, before finding a rock and holding herself in place with her claws. The current grabbed at her, wanting to keep her with the flow.
"Hey! You!" Zona shouted up at them, and they all fell silent. Their gazing settled on Zona, looking small against the wide rushing river. Zona felt her stomach flip, but then she remembered the young JMD crying. She held back her fears and curled her lip up towards them.
The biggest one flew down and settled on the bank nearest to Zona. Zona kept her eyes on him the whole way done. The other two were at his side instantly. "Oh..? What is this all about..?" he asked.
"Give them back. Now." She said, her voice strong. She thanked herself mentally.
They all snickered. "These?" he asked, shaking his leg that the bracelets were on. They jingled against each other and the gold on them caught the sun's reflection. "Why?"
Zona felt like pinning him to the ground and ripping the bracelets away from him. "They don't belong to you, now different they? Give them to me. I'll hurt you," Zona threatened. She couldn't stop thinking of the little JMD crying.
His eyes narrowed. He took them off and set them in front of his paw. "Fine." he sneered, and then he grinned. "
Fetch."
The bracelets shot into the water. Zona's eyes widened, and then she jumping forward into the water. She could see the twinkling bands right where she had jumped, sinking down. She reached out and gripped them, before surfacing. The male was still where he had been last.
"Find them, sweetheart?" he asked. Zona gritted her teeth at the nickname.
She just flashed him a sly grin back. "Idiot. Gold sinks." Zona flapped her wings once, and it sent her into the air. She flew back to the oak, and landed at the base of the tree. The young JMD wasn't there. She looked around, slightly puzzled.
"Umm... Hello..? I have your bracelets." Zona called out. Rustling sounded from upwards in the tree branches. Her heart lept with a slight fear, but she saw the little JMD crawling down. The JMD hit the ground and smiled thankfully at Zona.
"Your so nice. No one would've done that for me..."
Zona blinked, perplexed. "What do you mean?" she asked her, setting the bracelets down. She nudged them towards the child.
"My father's missing. My mother's dead. I have no siblings. Granny is out hunting." the child explained, pulling the bracelets on. She stopped at the third bracelet. "It was a jealousy thing. Someone was attached to my mother, and then she become mates with my father, so the jealous JMD killed my mother. I didn't know her for that long."
Zona felt her heart ache. "I'm so sorry..." she whispered.
The child looked up and caught Zona's eye for a moment. Then she took the bracelets off. "No, no... I can't keep them. Here-" she was beginning to push the bracelets back over, but Zona stopped her.
"No." Zona said. She shook her head. "These are way too important to you."
The young one just smiled. "I'm May." she told Zona, before disappearing behind the tree trunk. Zona tilted her head.
"Oh... Well, um, I'm Zona..." Zona said, though she wasn't sure if May had already left or not. She decided to stick around a little longer, just to make sure. May's head popped out from around the corner.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Come on!" She was gone around the trunk again. Zona walked over cautiously, taking the bracelets with her. May had left them on the ground.
She's quite the forgetful one... Then she turned around the trunk, and saw a large tunnel opening right beside he tree. May's muffled voice came from down below. Zona didn't hesitate. She went down.
Zona woke up to the sound of snorting outside. May was hanging over Zona's back, pinning her wings against her body. The snorting went on, and then squealing. Stomps came from outside of the tunnel.
Zona felt her heart pound faster. What if they came down here, where Zona was unable to fight? Though the tunnel was very big, there still wasn't a lot of room. May had said that her grandmother was small, so with the two of them they only needed a small space.
The small JMD squirmed with a moan. May didn't like to be woken at night. Zona's mind went back to her current situation. At least she would be able to heal either of them, if they got hurt. Zona rested her head down, trying to close her eyes.
These boars had been wandering outside of the den-like home for a while now. Every night Zona would hear them. It was like they were planning and plotting. Zona pushed it out of her mind and focused on May's breathing.
Zona had been living with May for a few weeks now, taking care of her. Her grandmother hadn't come back yet, and that was who May was waiting on. After May's grandmother came back, Zona would go. For now, they stayed together.
Then something pounded down the tunnel, squealing loudly. Zona got up quickly, May slipping off of her back. May groaned, and Zona pushed May into the side of the dirt wall. The boar entered the space, and charged at Zona. Zona whacked him away with a sharp hit from her tail. Another came storming down, this one female. Two more females entered.
Zona fought them all off, to the best of her ability. May pressed herself against the side, watching as it happened. They all scrambled up the tunnel. Of course, Zona was hurt. There was a large tear on her side, from the male. She quickly healed herself, but not before May seeing.
"W-wow. Zona, you're so brave! You could've killed them!" May exclaimed, bouncing up and down slightly.
Zona chuckled. "I just know how to protect. That's all." she replied, brushing the dirt from her pelt.
May shook her head. "Well, whatever. You're still my hero. You saved us!" she said circling in her current spot. She stopped. "Oh, yeah, and I'm sorry for not telling you about them..."
Zona smiled, and then blinked. "What do you mean?"
"Those boars have always been attacking us. I have no clue why," May said with a shrug.
"It doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that we're both safe, right?" Zona smiled. May nodded.
A shape outlined the sky, a JMD. She circled, and then landed not too far away. May smiled. She kept her eyes on the bushes, before looking at Zona. Her eyes were soft. "You'll always be my hero, you know." May whispered, taking off her bracelets one at a time. "Take them as a gift."
Zona blinked, before putting them on. "T-thank you May. I won't forget about you, I promise." She said, feeling her eyes mist. She fought back the tears, but then she saw May start to bawl.
"I'll miss you so much Zona!" May wailed, falling into the older JMD. Zona felt water slip down her own cheeks. She gritted her teeth, trying to not wail too.
A rustle in the bush snapped their heads over. And older-looking, small female stepped out. "Hello May." she said, nodding at the child. Maybe broke apart slowly from Zona, before running over to her grandmother. She gave her a Jewel Mane Dragon hug. Zona smiled, warmth flooding her heart. May was still crying, unable to stop herself.
"Who's this?" the old JMD asked, looking at Zona.
"She's my hero. Zona." May replied. "She looked after me while you were gone."
May's grandmother smiled and nodded at Zona. "That's good. I'm March."
Zona smiled back. "Nice to meet you. March and May..."
March laughed. "May's mother was named April. It kind of runs in the family."
Zona smiled again, and then May smiled at Zona again. She looked hurt but understanding. "You have to go now, don't you, Zona?" May whispered.
Zona swallowed heavily and nodded. "I'm sorry. Just... Remember what I told you." Zona said, and flapped into the air. She nodded to March, a formal goodbye. Her eyes stayed on May for a moment. "Goodbye..." Zona whispered, her voice cracking. She turned away from the two, and flew off into the air, and this time, she didn't hold in her tears.

Personailty; Zona has a wide ranging personality.
Zona is friendly. She greets new dragons with a smile, and it doesn't matter who you are. She believes everyone has a good side in them, deep down. If she feels threatened by you or anything, she might decide otherwise. Zo-zo is very adventurous. She loves to explore and find out new things. She likes to tell others of what she's done, but not boast about it. She tries not to rub it in everybody's faces. Zona, for the most part, is talkative. She could strick up a chat with anyone. She is straightforward, so her words might hurt a little. They just pop right out, as she doesn't think that much before speaking. Only in serious situations. Zo's only quiet when she feels like she wants to be, which could be at any time. If she doesn't want to talk to you, I wouldn't suggest talking to her. She snaps easily if someone annoys her. Other dragons can get under her skin easily, if she's having a bad day. Zona is quite brave, too. She will stand up for basically anyone. She jumps into new things quickly, and is almost always up for a challenge. She acts headstrong, like nothing can take her down. But, Zona is very thoughtful of those around her. She gives to them, though she may act just slightly greedy. She tries to take their ideas into consideration, even though she likes to do things her way. She always listens to others, and supports them too. Zo is still stubborn, though. It is diffucult to change her sight on something. She doesn't like anyone making choices for her. Zona cracks under pressure or nervousness. She can't stand it when she only has two minutes left, or if she's speaking in front of a whole group of other dragons. She just can't handle it. It makes her lightheaded and feel like she's going to burst into tears. Zona can also be a jokester. She messes around with her friends every now and then, but nothing to hurt any of them.
-
Quirks; Nervousness and being around seagulls.
Zo has a two quirks. One, is her nervousness. She panics when she gets nervous, and paces a lot. If she can't pace, she usually grips something. It helps her clamp down. Oh? Are you scared? Was what Zona said afterwards.
