Dante suddenly remembered how females hated being treated like weaklings and backed away a bit, giving her some space. "You okay?" asked Dante, noticing how she closed her eyes a moment.

"Just dreaming of better days." Star smiled and laid down in her comfy bed. She curled up, but didnt close her eyes.

[Ranua]

Dante sighed, curling up close to her. After a few moments, he noticed a flicker of unease from Star. "What were your better days like exactly?" asked Dante, flicking his tail.

Star looked away with her ears back."Days when i wasnt a killer." Her eyes darkened with bad memories and hurt. Her mind whirled.

"A killer...? Star what are you talking about?" asked Dante, bewildered.

Star sighed, then looked him in the eyes."I was hired as a killer of wolves and dogs by Bone. He forced me to do it. I've killed many wolves and dogs. But then he wanted me to kill a liter of dog pups. I refused, that was to far. But he....."

[Ranua]

"He what?" asked Dante.bristling slightly.

"He beat me. I couldnt move for days. He almost killed me until Dran and the pack attacked them and i got free. It was horrible." She looked away, then back at him."I had to go like that for years."

"Well, you don't have to worry about Bone now. While you are recovering Dante and I will be here with you." Shark avisded her. He looked to the sky to see that morning was beginning to break. "Ana will problaly start wondering where we are . . . " He muttered and looked at the barn.l From here it was still small but he could see some lights on.

"I see, well Star-" Dante pricked his ears, Shark's voice bellowing from behind him. He jolted, having forgotten the team was there too. He sighed and closed his eyes, trying to sleep.
