Okay
So I went to my trainers house to ride her Arabian, Candy.
Turns out, Candy got hurt because my trainers boyfriends ex wife friends are putting boards with nails facing up in the pastures at night, and Candy got hurt from the nails. It started as a thing over a Truck, there is absolutely NO need to bring her horses into this. >.<
She's got medicine on it and her whole hoof is wrapped up, It's got a rubber shoe thing over the bandage, so it won't get wet and gross between changing.
The poor baby. >.<

@Daring Daydreamer- That's awful! Poor Candy, it wasn't her fault! I hate when people pull animals into issues like that. The horse didn't do anything wrong!
And I'm just wondering, since I just learned about this in Biology a little while ago- when the vet saw Candy (I'm assuming one did, since she seems to be fixed all up with all that stuff you said) did they give her a Tetanus shot? You might not know, which is fine. I'm just wondering how often a vet gives Tetanus shots.

I have time! I have time to reply! FINALLY.
@ Blue; I can't wait to see how you're going to do. (:
@ Daydreamer; Sorry Candy is hurt. D: That's stupid that they left that out!
I've been so busy lately, and finally I have time and energy to reply. I had a very happy day today, so yay. (:

@Silence: They're purposely doing it. My trainer and her boyfriend called the police. He decided to try to scare them away. He climbed into a tree with a gun and shot into the air when he heard them coming into the pasture she had her ex-show jumper, Zeus, and her Friesian/Appaloosa, Luna. This was the pasture right next to Candy.
@Toppy: I hope she gets better soon. I love that horse and I'd be really sad if she had to be put down from infection or something. >~<
I really don't know if she got a tetnus shot. I'm assuming she did though. I'm not sure.
I know a person gets one every 7-10 years. (or something like that) Not sure about horses.

This thread seems neat. c:
I haven't ridden a horse in forever and a day (over 3 years ago), but I do love it a lot.
I'd love to get back on a horse soon. <3
I'm especially fond of jumping. I've never done it, but I really would love to.
I just thought I'd introduce myself here. So I can lurk around.

@Daring- I hope she gets better, too. But if it's all cleaned out and bandaged up properly I'm sure she'll be fine. She probably did get one. I had to do a mini-report on tetanus, so I found out a bit about it, and yes, people do have to get re-vaccinated after 7-10 years, but even then you can still get it, but chance of it causing serious issues are slim. It's not common to have in westernized/developed countries because the vaccine is easy to get and distributed widely.
I still can't get over that someone would do something like that. Hugs and treats for Candy!
@Thames-Hi Thames! Too bad you haven't been able to ride for awhile- are there any chances that you will be able to soon?

Okay, so my day... Well it started out fine, was helping my friend hay the paddocks and all that. Well when we were coming back on the golf cart we saw two adults just walking around the stables so we stopped. The lady wanted to know about the lessons we offer and that and her husband really wanted to pet a horse because he had never done that. The only problem was that this guy was being kinda annoying. Just always making jokes and going really off topic. Then after that we all started to clean stalls, and once I was done I was going to hand walk this chestnut named Chester. A total sweet heart, and normally really mellow....lol not today! Well I was walking him out in the flat arena (he has been in stall rest for over a week because he hurt his hip) and all was good until we passed letter "P" on the rail. This horse went crazy I this he got spooked by his own fart -_- or maybe something mimicked that sound on the ground, I don't know. He started to buck, kick, and cow hopping! Well he did this another time at the same place! Only it was worse. Then he rolled when coming past that gate. It kinda worried me so I call to this other volunteer, but she said he was fine. Right after he got up he spooked again. But it was really bad. He was bucking, kicking, and took off galloped, and kicking around the ring. Two other people helped me bring him in, and he almost spooked coming into the barn. Yeah it was crazy!!!!
