Bluetail
The she-cat could feel her mate tense beside her, but she kept on gently urging him forward one leg at a time until he started to relax slightly and move with her. Bluetail was beside him all the way, keeping a close eye on him as she got deeper and deeper into the water.
She watched his grimace disappear when the felt the water against his belly after a while. She was about to give him compliments for going so deep already, until he moved forward even more! Amazing! Only his head was above the water, and he began trying to swim but to no avail. She swam up to him, her paws leaving the pebbled bottom alot sooner than his, and she managed to tread water beside him as she spoke.
"Imagine you are walking," she offered him advice, "be aware that the water carries your weight so you feel lighter. It's a strange sensation at first, but I promise you that you'll get used to it. To swim with power, imagine you are clawing your way through the water, like you're digging a hole. Thrust your legs out in front of you, and pull them back, curling your paws underneath as you go,"
She stayed right beside him in the water, eyes watching closely.
"I won't let you drown," she said, her blue eyes serious in her promise.
