[ just finished watching the prez swear in! ]
j a y h o m e r d e x xJay woke up to his alarm clock, and groaned. Why did morning have to be in the morning? He thought through the grogginess of sleep. He lifted the pillow from beneath his head, and smacked blindly at his bedside table with it, soon hitting the "SNOOZ" button. Jay dug the sleep out of his eyes and pushed his hair from his face. He swim his legs over the side of his bed and surveyed his room, messy, dark, and masculine as usual. He liked it this way. Dark meant sleep. It belonged in a bedroom. Outside there was light, which meant work. Thinking of work got Jay from his room to his computer, searching for jobs in town. His parent's money wouldn't last forever. He looked at a carpenter job with a good paycheck and posted his résumé. With that over he now had the whole day ahead of him to do anything.
He pulled on dark wash jeans and a dark green and white striped polo. On the way out the door he slipped on his ankle high grey converse and skateboard.
Riding down the street he saw a girl heading towards the forest. He pulled up beside her and said, "Hey I'm Jay... have I seen you before?"

Bay had almost reached the green sanctuary, she looked up at the sound of a voice. "I-I don't think so.. My name's Bayside." She was having a hard time coming up with anything else to say, socializing wasn't her strong suit. She cast a glance toward the woods, wishing she could go to the animals. "How long have you lived here?" Trying to start a spark of conversation was a challenge, but she hoped to not seem to weird to this boy, she had to admit to herself that he was rather cute. With a blunt kick she sent a rock across the road.
(I always have writing's block when my characters are talking. XD)

☽ C h r i s t o p h e r V a n n R o g u e ☾18 ♙ Alone ♙ In his house ♙ Single ♙ WearingThe birds outside chirped happily, a nice noise to wake up to for Chris, this late Saturday morning. It was already 10 o'clock, but that didn't bother Chris one bit. What did bother him, was when his 16 year old sister came in, excitedly shaking him out of his half asleep daze like a 4 year old on Christmas morning. "Oh my god what do you want, Maureen," He angrily mumbled in a thick english accent, sticking his face in his pillow as she threw open the drapes. "Mum made pancakes," She replied in a teasingly singsong voice, running back out of his room. He could hear her happily stomp down the stairs, and great their mother with a bucket full of enthusiasm, even though she too had just gotten up.
Chris slowly tore the covers off of himself, taking about 10 minutes to finally swing both of his legs off the bed and sit up. "Your pancakes are getting cold!" His mother called up the stairs as Chris rubbed the sleep from his eyes, surveying his somewhat clean room. A few things were out of place, but he generally kept the place in order. He learned his lesson after he wet himself one night when he couldn't get to the bathroom on time as he navigated through his room. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" Chris shouted back through his hands. He stood up on shaky legs and made his way to the door, putting on a black zip-up sweatshirt on the way. He turned to his left to go down the sky blue painted hallway, where all of the bedrooms and the upstairs bathroom which Maureen and Chris shared was (His Mother had her bathroom branching off of her room).
He slowly stomped down the 15 steps in the circular staircase, and was immediately met with sunlight pouring in the full wall windows which covered almost the entire first floor. He shielded his eyes, which had not yet adjusted to the harsh light. He moaned, feeling his way across the living room, towards the open kitchen. He sat down at one of the bar stools, leaning his head on the hard counter, leaving his eyes open to slowly get used to the light. He looked up as he heard a glass plate being set in front of him, and smiled at his mom. On it were 3 fluffy, delicious looking pancakes. "Excuse my reach," Chris mumbled, reaching across Maureen's plate to the right of him to grab the maple syrup. "You could have just asked. I would have handed it to you," She grumbled, sticking another piece of syrup loaded pancake in her mouth. "I know you better than that. You would have put it just out of my reach." Chris laughed, poking her with his still clean fork. "Christopher, be nice to your sister," His mother called from across the kitchen, where she was cleaning the skillet and measuring bowl. Chris grumbled quietly. He hated when his mum called him by his full name, but she insisted. When he looked back over to Maureen, she stuck her tongue at him, and continued eating her pancakes.
Chris ate the rest of his pancakes in silence. When he was done, he rinsed off his plate before placing it in it's appropriate place in the dish washer, along with his silverware. He thanked his mum once more, then ran back upstairs, talking a shower, and throwing on an outfit at will, and grabbing his phone. He didn't know what anybody else was doing today, and just hoped someone else would call him. He turned on his computer, playing the violin softly while he waited for it to boot up and for his hair to dry, so he could gel the front up.

j a y h o m e r d e x xI smile at the girl. Kinda cute... I can't help her thinking. I notice how itchy she is to leave for the forest. I wonder what is in there that she is so desperate to get to. "Nice name, unique." I say, trying to think where her patents got the idea. I couldn't decide if I liked it or not, yet. In response to her latest question I reply: Yes, my whole life. I was on the outskirts until recently, though. You?" I try to find out what kind of a girl she was. Well, only one way to find out...
{ have to wait for next post I find out what it is, sorry for the delay in response, I was busy }

Feeding, watering and otherwise caring for all of her plants took Opal twenty minutes on the nose. The greenhouse was stuffed full of flowers, but she'd been doing the same thing every morning for almost two years now; it was almost a reflex, and she was fast about it. After she finished, she closed up the tiny, humid building and left her yard through the white, wooden gate. She had to go to work, though she wished she didn't have to. Her job at the bakery was something she did just to help out her aunt, and because she needed money to put toward starting a business, the job she really wanted. With the size of the town, it was a short walk she enjoyed taking. The cool air ruffled her short, blonde hair and made her feel awake. She smiled as she walked, unaware she was even doing so.
As she turned into the street the bakery was on, she stopped fast and swore under her breath. She'd forgotten what her aunt had called to say last night. She had just walked into the center of town for no good reason. The bakery was closed this weekend, because her aunt had to fly out of state for a friend's wedding. Cursing her forgetfulness, Opal turned around to go home, then halted again. If she was already in town, she might as well wander. There was no sense in walking out there for no reason.

"Thanks." She said plainly, but she felt her face flush for a split second, then as it went back to normal, she focused on answering his next question. "My parents moved here when I was five." Bay replied. She didn't want to reveal that they were not her actual parents to someone she had just met, it was natural not to do so for her. At the sound of a hawk screeching made her shake her head as she remembered why she was at the edge of the forest. She smiled slightly and unconsciously twirled a strand of her hand around her forefinger.

j a y h o m e r d e x xJay smiled at her. Is she flirting with me? He thought. "Do you want to go get some coffee, or were you busy...?" He gestured at the forest, wondering why she was so eager to get there. She was beautiful though, and he wasn't going to give up an opportunity like asking her out. Usually he was very guarded around relationships, and he surprised himself by running in head - first with someone he barley knew. But then again, he reasoned with himself, how else would you het to know someone then hanging out with them?

She stood there, dumbstruck as her mind worked furiously to figure out what her just said. A guy, asking me out? Bayside nodded slightly. "Sure, I mean, the forest isn't going anywhere." She joked and took a small step forward. "But, I need two seconds- I'll be right back." Without waiting for an answer, she turned on her heel and ran into the forest, and to a small clearing where she found just the thing, well animal, she was looking for. She bent down on her knees and held out her arm, which a snowy owl clambered up onto and lightly secured itself there with it's talons. Bay smiled and stroked Caorne's head. She weaved her way back to the road and stepped out from the trees the the owl clutching her arm. "This is Caorne. Now shoo." With that the bird lifted off and was gone.
(My brain is fried after what I had to do at school today, I don't even know what this post is about. XD)
