They finally reached camp and burst through the entrance. Tinderclaw laid Icefoot down and let his grief overwhelm him. "Help her. HELP HER, PLEASE!" He weeped. He pushed his muzzle into her soft fur. Please let her be okay.

[raining-pouring]

Darkpelt

The tom laughed slightly at her question, whether or not he had been in the water. "Oh yes, trust me, I've been in the water. I prefer to stay on shore where I can watch the water without actually having to... touch it." He chuckled. The last two times he had been in the water were not fun experiences. The first time he had fallen in the water he had to get four cats to help drag him out to shore. The second time he was barely able to do it himself.

Darkpelt listened as Bluetail voiced his thoughts about the clan happenings, and the calmness it brought. "Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing." He meowed thoughtfully as he watched his clan mates. With a shake of his pelt, Darkpelt headed off towards the direction of the waterfall. He decided he would take his time, work out the kinks in his muscles so he didn't have to be in pain when he curled up for bed that evening.

Thrushcloud

The she-cat let Icefoot down as gently as she could without breaking her own spine. Backing away, Thrushcloud crashed to her haunches, panting. The work had been tumultuous, and now it looked as if Icefoot were even worse. "I can't see the medicine cats anywhere. Where are they?" She growled to herself, fur bristling with frustration. "Tinderclaw, I know very little medicine works, but I know I can patch up some wounds with cobweb. May I?" She offered anxiously, her eyes soft and pleading.

[snowfall!]

"Do anything you can to save my mate. I'd die without her." He said, his eyes clouding with sorrow.

[raining-pouring]

Thrushcloud

She saw the pain clouding in the tom's eyes like a storm and nodded solemnly. "Okay." Thrushcloud meowed, turning with the flick of her tail towards the medicine cat's den. Distressed, she searched the shelves for something that looked familiar. Poppy seeds, and cobwebs. She scooped them up messily into her jaws and sprinted out of the den, her heart speeding up a bit. Tensely, the she-cat got to work. While she placed the fragile and sticky web onto Icefoot's open wounds, Thrushcloud offered her some poppy seeds to take down and stop the pain. "Try to take these two," She pleaded as she worked tediously above her, trying as hard as she could not to cause the wounds to fester. "It'll help with the pain."

Bluetail
Bluetail did her best to bat her lashes at him, and stick her bottom lip out a little as he began to walk. She followed him, feeling grateful for the walk to the waterfall. Perhaps she and Darkpelt could make some happy memories of the place...She blushed visibly again.

Last time she was here, she was saving Rainclaw from drowning, and when he and Flamestreak proclaimed their love for her.

"Even if I ask you to join me in the shallows, you wouldn't?" she asked, purring and rubbing her flank against his.

She walked in silence for a little while, before engaging Darkpelt in the Clan happenings.

"The calm is refreshing after everything has happened," she sighed calmly, "I wonder what has happened to Dawnstar; she hasn't been around recently, or our Medicine cats I wonder if anything has happened to them. The Clan needs them soon; I've seen the looks some of our younger toms have shown a few of the she-cats. Mark my words, they'll be mated and the females will be pregnant soon. Young love and all that," she talked calmly.

She paused, before speaking again.

"Did you know there's rumours going round that some cats in the Clan are distantly related to such cats as Tigerstar? and Scourge?" she asked suddenly, finding conversation with him.

Darkpelt

The dark tom chuckled, shaking his head at her question. "No, I'd prefer to stay on solid ground and watch. However tempting it is," He laughed. Listening intently as she spoke, he began to make some of his own assumptions for the reasons that Dawnstar and the medicine cats were so absent lately. "I have no idea, but you're right. Soon kits will be popping up left and right, and our queens can't bear them all by themselves." He replied with a sigh.

Darkpelt was surprised at her next question, and he turned his head to face her as they walked. "Is that so? I've only ever heard stories of such cats. I'm sure any decendants of them couldn't be all that terrible. The mighty Bramblestar wasn't," He noted, ears twitching. "I never knew Scourge had a mate." He meowed thoughtfully.

By now the two had reached the base of the waterfall, a sparkling pool of crystal-clear water. The sound of the waterfall was gentle, a thin layer of water sliding across slabs of stone that jutted out from the hillside. It was a very quiet and serene location, which was left generally undisturbed by most of their clan-mates. Darkpelt enjoyed the spot, which had been his place for thinking and relaxing for many moons, since he first discovered it when Rainclaw fell over.

Bluetail
"Well, I hope our Leader and our Medicine Cats come around soon...We'll be overrun by kittens of every kind back at camp," she laughed, "and we need some order..."

She listened to him speak, nodding thoughtfully.

"Well, I don't know for certain about who is related to who; it's just a rumour. But I agree; I thought Scourge was...You know, a tom always on his own,"

The two cats found themselves at the waterfall, and Bluetail's blue eyes shone as she took in all the calm and beauty of the place.

"Gosh...Everytime I come here it takes my breath away..." she sighed in awe as she approached the water's edge.

She leaned down and placed a paw into the water, stretching her digits so that the water passed through her toes. She giggled to herself at the ticklish feeling and looked back over at Darkpelt with kind eyes. A smile broke out over her expression as she slid into the shallows and under the water. The water wasn't cold, only cool against her pelt, and a welcome feeling of weightlessness came over her as she lowered herself under the surface of the water. The sound of the waterfall became only a distorted sound as she floated there for a few seconds before she came up for air. She shook her head and held onto the side of the solid earth with her front paws.

She smiled again at Darkpelt as the water cooled and refreshed her.

"Ever though of becoming Deputy Darkpelt?" she posed, her head cocked slightly on her front paws, "I think you'd be good at it,"

Darkpelt

With a smile, Darkpelt took up a spot on one of the smooth slabs of rock overhanging the pool of water. The rocks were nice and warm under his stomach as he stretched out across them. The day was unusually warm for Leaf-Bare, but Darkpelt was not about to protest.

He watched as Bluetail slid into the water so casually, swimming with ease. He cringed as he watched her dive below the surface of the water for a seconds, his muscles bunching ever so slightly. When she finally came up for air he allowed himself to relax, releasing a breath filled with ill-contained tension.

"Deputy?" He chuckled at the thought. "Yes, I suppose when I was a younger warrior the thought had crossed my mind. But now, I'm not sure." Darkpelt mused. He flushed a bit at her words, but he shook his head. "I don't know... I can hardly bear the weight of my own problems, much less the problems of the entire clan." He meowed thoughtfully.

He crawled to the very tip of the rock and let his paws dangle underneath him into the water, barely brushing the surface of the crystal-clear liquid. Darkpelt smiled over at Bluetail as she waded in the water so effortlessly, gracefully stroking her paws through it's cool caress. He reached out one paw to touch her cheek, letting it hang there for a few moments while he looked into her deep blue eyes. StarClan, could I get any luckier? He though to himself with a little flutter in his stomach.
