Flix
"Well, at least we're away from those humans," Flix said. She looked in the direction Dasher was peering at, ears pricked in interest, but saw nothing. She listened intently, but for the moment heard nothing but rustling leaves. This was interrupted by her stomach growling.
"Is there any prey around here?" she wondered out loud.

Dasher
Dasher scented the air, searching for something other than the musky scent of red squirrel and field mice that lurked in the shadows. "I think.....there might be some deer or rabbits, but that's it." He sighed and flinched when an owl poked its head out of a leaning maple, it's wide eyes peering down at him. "You know how to hunt?" He asked suddenly, forgetting she had the disadvantage of her legs being injured. "Er....That was a stupid question."
- Edit: Eek, that bold thing can't be taken off.....-

Flix
Flix giggled a bit at his stricken expression.
"Don't worry about it." she said. "But no, I can't hunt. This is actually the first time I've been away from humans." She looked askance at the owl, then burst out laughing.
"That owl looks so ... funny!" she choked. The owl turned its head and fixed her with a somber, round-eyed stare. Somehow, despite the circumstances, she just couldn't stop laughing. Composing herself, she looked inquiringly at Dasher. "Can you hunt?"

- I'm gonna sleep now-
Dasher
The owl peered down at them, turning it's head 360° degrees to see both of the dogs, and whoo whoo'd loudly. Dasher laughed, bouncing backwards and nearly hitting his head on the boulder behind him. He laughed nervously and shook himself, standing up at watching Flix with his stomach in knots because of his hunger. "Maybe..." He said, locking his gaze on a falling leaf, it's ends curling like paper when it burns, and pounced on it.

-Lol, it's now morning for me-
Flix
"You could probably hunt," said Flix. "Just do the same thing to the mouse as you did to the leaf!" She laughed. "Okay, maybe it's not that easy. You could try catching the owl!" She laughed again at the mention of the owl. On a whim, she stuck her tongue out at it. The owl gave her an offended look and disappeared back into the hollow. But Flix could still see it's luminous, circular yellow eyes. She sniffed the air like Dasher had done, and caught the scents of prey disappearing into the bushes.

Dasher
He giggled as the owl disappeared into the hollow tree, the glow from its eyes still visible in the dark. "Hmm...." Dasher thought out loud, wondering what prey he could catch fastest. "What do you like?" He asked, knowing he should feed Flix first because she was the weakest.

Flix
Flix smiled at his generosity.
"I really like rabbits... and one big one would probably feed both of us, too," she mused. She quickly turned her head as a squirrel went rushing by her. Instinctively, she pounced for it, forgetting her leg. "Ow," she muttered again, rolling her eyes in annoyance at herself as she pushed herself back up.

Dasher
"Sheesh, You should really stop doing that." Dasher commented under his breath, then regretted how sour his voice sounded in his ears.
He thought for a moment, tilting his head to the side, and tapped his paw. "Maybe you could stay here while I hunted for something large, big enough to fill us both?" The question came out sounding more like a statement rather than a simple question.
