Daisuke laughed and said, 'you don't have to take care of me, I'm the older one.' He gave Haze a soft push towards where she was supposed to stand. 'Aim towards the target and relax, then shoot. Nothing can go wrong, it's not like someone else is shooting back.' He leaned against the shooting table next to where the gun was going to be positioned and lit a cigarette that he took out of his pocket. He smoked indeed, and he drank a lot, and he shot without safety devices... Everything about him seemed bad, yet for others he'd go through hell. He had frequent talks with Yu~Ki, the doctor, but never changed since he got into the clan Von Diru. He is still a reckless rebel but won't allow his sister to become like him. He glanced at her from the corner of his eye. 'If you can shoot well enough, I'll give you an own gun, okay?' He asked.

Yu~ki suddenly heard a thump at it made him jump up. He had been standing outside there, doing nothing for quite some time and the sudden sound awoke him from his thoughts. He turned his head towards it and saw a girl in the snow. Had she fallen? Had she been pushed? Did she jump out of the window because she wanted it? More importantly, is she hurt? Yu~ki put his tea on the table and ran towards the girl, then kneeld beside her. 'Are you okay?' He asked, his voice very worried. 'Will you please never jump out of the window?! It's dangerous, young lady!' He took Lisitsa's hand in his. 'Even when the snow is thick like this, a lady should never jump out of a window! You could have been seriously injured! Only trained people may do that kind of stuff, okay?' And he may have sounded very harsh now, but he was just in a bit of a shock. He knew Daisuke would do things like this, but... It was reckless! As a doctor, he could not allow it.

Tetsu looked up at Yvette and said, 'I knew you would have, it's okay. Did you train long yesterday night?' He then went back to writing. 'There's still warm water in the kitchen if you want tea...' He then looked up again at the sound of gunfire. 'One day, Daisuke is going to give me a heart-attack,' he said with a sigh and he took a sip of his tea, then continued writing again. He then said to Olivier, without looking up, 'if the drawings look good, I might ask you to paint everyone of the clan on a canvas to hang in the hallway. The portraits we have now are getting older... I mean... Daisuke still has long hair on it and Kamijo's hair is short. Those are major differences. And the dress Lucine has on the picture is not very elegant... It doesn't suit her. And we should update our family and lovers portraits as well... Yvette, what do you think? Should we do brother and sisters together as well?'

Kamijo started walking down the hallway and then down the stairs with elegant steps, sometimes making a ballroom dance move with his lover, holding her gently, yet so that she wouldn't be able to take her hand back easily. He hummed a song and occasionally smiled at Cassia while he walked with her, now down the stairs. 'Good morning, everyone!' He exclaimed quite happily, maybe a bit too baroque. He jumped the last two steps and said, 'my rose, thy willst some tea?' 'Kamijo, act your age,' Tetsu commented, 'and drop the facade...' Kamijo said, 'nay, good sir, t'is no facade ~' and he slowly let go of Cassia's hand while he walked into the kitchen to get them both some tea, taking that Cassia would want it.

The girl nodded at his advise. She did her best to mimic the posture he usually used when he was serious while shooting and carefully assessed the distance between her and the target. Hitting bull's eye was rare, she had actually done it just twice before, the first time being when her brother had been holding her hands. Though she wanted to be completely concentrated, her attention was grabbed by the lighting of a cigarette. Yet again, she felt like she wanted to say something about it, but quickly concluded that if her beloved sibling found pleasure in that pastime, she should not restrain him. In the beginning, the lass didn't even know that they were dangerous and asked for one out of curiosity. That happened when she was five and her current consciousness sometimes wondered what Daisuke would have done if that friend of his, whose name always eluded her, wasn't there to react in such a shocked and terrified way, he gave both siblings a lecture about his unhealthy it was to smoke and how she, with her weaker body, could suffer from countless illnesses by just one intake. Despite that happening four years ago, the long hard-to-understand words still echoed in her head and she still did not know their meaning. Going back to her target, once she felt ready, the nine-year-old fired. The bullet hit between five and six in quadrant one, which she thought wasn't that bad. Of course, her skills were too far from the high level of her sibling and she still felt how her body slightly jumped backwards after the shot. Her second try was four in quadrant two and the last two in quadrant three.
"Getting worse." she mumbled her unfinished "I'm getting worse" as she lost confidence quickly.

Lisitse giggled under hear breath as she was lying in the snow. It had been amazing, in her opinion. She felt as if she had conquered the world, unscratched at that! As she was about to call Emma to jump too, the sudden arrival of a man made her quiet. He was a face she had seen, someone who had been around for a long time, but mostly in the background or just wasn't loud enough to catch her attention. Or perhaps she did know him but didn't at the moment. Not being able to jog her memory, the little lady listened to all the thing he said. At first his tone was worried, then it turned harsh. It was obvious he was worried, but the entire time she gave him a look a child would do when it didn't understand a thing but was curious. When he was finally finished, she gave him a big smile and pushed herself to a sitting position. That being done, she used her hand, the one which was not being held, and put it on the man's head.
"No worries. I'm absolutely fine!" she told him with a childish smile "I've fallen from higher places so there's no way I'd get hurt from that measly height" she added proudly but continued a bit stubbornly "Besides, it's not fair when boys can do that but girls can't. I've seen a couple of men doing that, oh, there's this guy who does it often, too! He prefers doing it at night, though. I guess it's because he doesn't want to be seen."

Emmaline~Nightmare~Child
Hurriedly following after Lisitsa, Emma wincing at every tremendous noise the older girl made. As they got to the ornate window, she also looked out, not quite seeing the same potential in the soft snow. As she opened the window, her dark eyes grew wider and wider as the chill spread through the corridor, biting her bones and freezing her extremities. All she could do was watch as her relative twirled to the opposing end of the corridor. "Lis, what..what are you.." was all she managed to get out, before the girl took a run up and took a flying leap from the window. She watched with a mixture of horror and shock as she fell, still laughing, and screwed her eyes shut as she anticipated the harsh landing. Sh, shuddering as she heard the large thump. She kept them shut until she head a call from the girl, and sighed in relief, glad that the girl was alive and unhurt, no matter how annoying she found her.

Turning as fast as lightning and running full pelt down the seven flights of stairs to the ground floor, she dashed out of the main door and ran to the spot where Lis lay, and sighed with relief when she saw she was with Yu~Ki. He would make sure she was ok. She was so reckless, it was barely believable, and her constant babbling about gender roles did not aid the situation much.

Cassia~Le Versailles~Youngster
Cassia noted the unrelenting grip on her hand as they elegantly walked down the corridor and then down the stairs, gasping every time they performed a dance move; although she tried to look graceful, they almost always took her by surprise and she struggled to keep her balance. She returned the favor back to Kamijo every time he smiled at her though. As they got to the bottom of the stairs, she did not leap from the step, but paused and watched as Kamijo did. She followed him and while he went to get some tea, she carefully sat at the table, keeping her line of sight down and her gloved hands clasped in her lap.

Hearing some commotion, Lucine made her way to where it sounded like Yu~Ki was scolding someone. "What on earth happened here?" She questioned, approaching Yu~Ki. "It sounded as if someone fell." She said, hearing the voice of Lisitsa. With how reckless the girl was, it wouldn't be surprising if she jumped from some high point of the castle, hoping the snow would break her fall. "I do hope no one was hurt."
~~~~~
Yvette nodded slowly. "Yes... I believe the clock said one..." She said, looking over into the kitchen. "You know I don't drink tea, sir." She said, smiling softly when she heard the gunshot and a mention to Daisuke. She always enjoyed his company and how he could get a job done. She looked at Oliver, who looked up suddenly. "Oh, um, well I'm merely doing this as some fun little things, they haven't been turning out as well as I had hoped." Oliver said with a slight smile. Yvette honestly didn't care, so she agreed. "Yes, brother sister pairings for the portraits would be nice."
~~~~~
Charisse smiled softly, then turned to go back to the kitchen. There were still some eggs and ham frying in the cast iron pan, and a cup of tea for herself sat next to the stove. She served the eggs and ham onto a plate, and waited for Amaya by cooling the pan in some water. She had been debating when would be a good time to tell Amaya what would soon happen to her mother, though it never seemed to be the appropriate time. She sighed softly, hoping Amaya got to the kitchen before the food got cold.
~~~~~
Ezekial had left Nevena in Sayuri's care, like usual. She had been more than willing to take her from him. It was nice, having her there to care for his daughter. He made his way to the kitchen to grab a pear, as was his usual breakfast; that or an apple or peach. He decided to go to the library, finishing his breakfast before he arrived. He tossed it in the garbage can inside, and immediately went to the section they had on psychology. He enjoyed reading about it, even if he did know most of the things about psychology, he could still learn more.
~~~~~
As usual, Voltaire woke up to Francesca sleeping at his side. There was rarely a moment they weren't together. There was no actual love between the two, however. He smiled at her mess of red hair against the white pillows, and quickly got up and dressed. She soon woke up as well, grabbing her black bathrobe at the foot of the bed and putting it on over her white nightgown. The two exchanged greetings, and she scurried down the hall to change. Voltaire also left his room, though went to the main floor. He didn't like the look of it outside. It was cold and dreary.

RiverVale

River finally stood up and walked towards her door walking out of her room and down the halls, weaving her way through them to finally get outside. She squinted at the bright reflection of the light hitting the snow and shiver gladly at the coll frozen air of winter. River pulled up the hood of her cloke up and over her head shielding her from the ice winds wrapping herself even tighter in her cloke, now feeling warm though she could see the silvery mist of her breath as she breathed and heard the crunch of soft snow and ice under her feet, she was careful not to slip. Besides Rivers own movements she could hear the hushed voices farther away from her and in the opposite direction. River than began to think, why? She wasn't sure, Of what? she didn't know, but she continued on her journey to know where out in the snow, she wasn't at all leaving just walking.

Daisuke noticed how Haze noticed his cigarette and how she got distracted by it. By the look of her eyes, he knew that she wanted to say something about it and was glad that she didn't because then he would have had to scold her again for minding with his business. He exhaled with a sigh as she spoke and said, 'don't give up so easily, nee-chan. Remember that when I was your age, I couldn't even fire a gun. I only got into the camp when I was ten years old. The first time I fired a gun, my caretaker had to hold me so that I wouldn't fall backwards...' He remembered it like it was yesterday. 'Do you remember Jon? He was the tall man with the black hair and the long black coat. Red strap around his right arm... Soft voice, strict green eyes...' He thought back about that day when he first met Haze. She was standing in the main base with Jon embracing her. When Daisuke entered the room, Jon said to him, and the words still echoed through his head, 'another one left for death.' Of course, parents died, Jon found her on the street and didn't want to leave her to die like that. It was during a civil war... Daisuke's reaction had been a bit over-emotional, maybe. He had run to Jon and shouted, 'nein, she won't die! I'll take care of her!' Maybe because he recognized himself in her eyes... And only a few days later, Daisuke went away from the base and away from his caretaker, took Haze with him and went to this clan. 'Shoot again.' He commanded Haze now.

Yu~Ki sighed deeply and said, 'I'm not saying ladies can't do what men can do. I'm saying that you should be trained if you jump out of a high window! Besides, you may only do such stunts when wearing pants, young one! And okay,' he sighed, 'maybe you have seen men doing this kind of reckless things, but those men certainly have been Kouji, who is a test-subject, Daisuke, who used to be a soldier, and Taiji, who is suicidal' and he whispered, lookign down, 'I wasn't supposed to say that...' Then he looked up again and said, 'so. I don't care if you have jumped off of buildings before, when I am around, you will not.' Then he heared Lucine's voice and looked up in surprise. 'Ah, Lucine... She... Lisitsa thought it was a good idea to jump out of a window, madam, and I know that this is none of my business since she is a Nightmare child, but...' He never dared to look Lucine in the eyes. She was such an important woman and had an aura around her that almost demanded people to bow their heads. But the aura was, unlike Asagi's for example, not violent but rather so calm and assertive. It reminded Yu~Ki much of his father. 'I did tell Lisitsa that she should not do this. I guess I got angry at ehr, but I will leave her to you...' He stood up and bowed his head.

Tetsu said, 'Cassia, darling, why the small figure? Present yourself like what you are, the soon to be wife of a prince. Show some confidence.' Then Kamijo came into the room again, placed the cup of tea in front of Cassia and sat down next to her. 'Not burnth thy lips,' he said with a soft smile, leaning back a bit. 'I wonder what this day will bring... I believe I needst finish a song. It's called Serenade, willst thou hear it?' He glanced at his beloved woman as he crossed his legs, like usual, to sit in a more comfortable way. Tetsu then said to Olivier, 'well, you do practice the art of painting for a living, don't you? Then why not take to my commission? Oh, Yvette, you don't have to stand by my side right now. Go enjoy yourself. Kouji is in the lab, he has been working all night and now probably asleep. Please bring him to his bed and then go an enjoy the snow while you can now that you are still young.' A nostalgic smile appeared on Tetsu's face and his eyes became soft for a moment as he looked at the ceiling, then quickly back to his letter again. 'I will need someone to deliver this letter later today. Can you do that as well, Yvette?'

In the lab, Kouji had indeed been working all night. Gackt wanted to try a new kind of poison that could be used in a gun to temporarily make someone feel as if he was being burnt from the inside out. It was some kind of evil, of course, but he was doing this project together with Taiji, who seemingly wanted this for no reason... Maybe he had contacts...
Anyway, Kouji had been trying to find the right proportions for everything and had been tested it on himself as well. He was now sitting in the chair where he would sit if something were to be tested on him for which he needed to be chained up so that he couldn't move to much and he was alseep with the lab coat laying on his lap and his glasses still on.

Taiji had woken up and after getting dressed quite slowly, he skipped breakfest and went outside without passing by anyone from any clan. He went to the lake, wearing nothing but his inside clothes and boots and his hat, of course. He sat down by it and lit a cigarette, sighed and thought about past years. He sometimes picked up some snow and just threw it onto the frozen lake, wondering if the ice would be strong enough to hold his weight. Finally, he decided to try and so he carefully stood up on it and then walked over the lake, after finding it strong enough.

Lucine smiled softly. "No, it is fine. You may scold them if deemed necessary." She said, then sighed. "Lis, you really should be careful. Falling from that height could have hurt you. No, a more suitable height to jump from would be the second floor balcony." Se said with a slightly devious smile. She knew by instinct that it was higher than the second floor that she had leaped from, even if she hadn't seen the whole thing. "Plus, from the balcony, you have a better space to leap from. And it looks cooler than just jumping from a window." She added, tugging her shawl around her more. "And also, before you jump, could you do me a favor and check how deep the snow is first? I'd hate to be the one to give you this advice and you end up getting hurt." She said, then sighed softly. She knew how to deal with troublesome children, she raised Alain for goodness sake. If it was nothing too serious, just encourage them to do the same thing, just in small scale. "So, keep that in mind, and you have fun."
~~~~~
Oliver nodded slowly. "I suppose I could... But I'll finish the sketches first, to get the features in pencil, then work on the paintings. It'll give me something to do, at least. Not much for an artist to do these days, other than draw and paint when I happen to have an idea." He said, continuing his sketch of Amaya, scratching emitting from the tip of the pencil on the sketch book. It had already taken him weeks to get where he was, and he expected at least another week to finish them all.
~~~~~
"Thank you, sir." Yvette said when she was dismissed. She would have found her brother anyway, he never even had to suggest it. At the mention of a letter, she nodded. "Of course I can deliver it. I will come back later for it, once I get Kouji to his room. I wouldn't want to crumple it in the process." She said, bowing quickly, and going to the basement. As Tetsu said, he was asleep. She sighed lightly, taking the glasses off of his face, and putting the coat on a nearby table. She picked him up like the big baby he was, and carried him to his room quite easily. She laid him on his bed, and draped the covers over him before silently leaving the room and closing the door.
~~~~~
Alain, after speaking with his mother, had gone to the library. The library was his second home. He loved the place, he loved to read, he loved to learn. He was never talkative much, and often when he was asked why he was so quiet, he'd smile and respond that there wasn't much for him to learn if he spent his time talking instead of listening. However, his thoughts would be more of the "Because I hate you all" reason. Really, he didn't actually like anyone in the castle. Except for his mother, of course. He'd do anything for her and loved her with all his heart. But the others... He could do without the others. Especially two people in his own clan. One of them being the obvious next Clanhead, and the other being the not so obvious father of the clan. Lucine seemed to have taken a liking to him, and he didn't like it. He didn't want anyone else around, and he felt threatened by any friends she had. He huffed softly, and continued reading his book on medicine.
RiverVale
River looked down as she walked around in the cool air of the winter day, she could feel her pale cheeks begin to flush a reddish color from the cold but She didn't mind that. She didn't necessarily come out here just to walk around blindly, she came out here to get away from everyone for at least an hour or two. River soon began to sing softly to herself
' Dancing bears
Painted wings
Things I almost remember
And a song someone sings, once upon a December
Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory
ahh-
Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory
Far away long ago
Glowing dim as an ember
Things my used to know
Things it yerns to remember
And a song someone sings
once upon a December'
River enjoyed singing really any sort of music she enjoyed, though she didn't like performing her songs in front of people some didn't like hearing her sing which is why she did it when she was alone, She wasn't a bad singer at all she was taught how to sing when she was little, but some people just didn't like it, but she didn't care what they thought but she did respect their opinion. River began to hum the song this time.
Marina gazed up at the long dirt driveway leading from the road up to the Clan house. She smiled softly as she began to climb up the way, with her heavy bags in hand. Has she reached the door, she place her bags down an smotthed her ruffled dress. She opened the door and peered inside. When she entered she smiled saying "I am home" not expecting anyone to hear what she had just said...
[ By the way Yomi-san, we didn't decide when exactly Daisuke adopted Haze. I was actually going to say this in my previous post, but it slipped my mind ^^" So, I would like it to be sometime when she was 4. ]
Image
For that short moment, Haze watched as her brother was slipping into that monologue of his. Even though she did remember the man whom he often spoke of in a blurry way, the manner which Daisuke used to describe him, the tone he used, the feeling he put into every syllable when addressing that distant figure if the past, left her with two feelings. The first, the feeling of regret for not having a clear memory of this person who seemed to be of such high importance. Despite trying for many days and nights, her mind could not provide her with any solid information. Only echoes of a voice that sometimes had a pinch of pity, sometimes a dash of sternness, yet gentle at the very end. Every time it came to her, the words faded more and more, to the point where she realized that soon all she had of them, which had turned into sounds, and the hazy silhouette would become nothing but sand that would slip through her hands and vanish into the times of the past.
The girl had not moved her eyes from the next target she had come to stand in front of while her brother had went into a split moment of recalling. His tone when he gave the order somehow fueled her with a little confidence and she lifted the gun again to the appropriate position and aimed. The firing of the gun still made her flinch or move backwards. Nothing could really be done about that, simply because her body was not heavy enough to completely not allow that immense power to push her in the other direction. This time she hit in quadrant four in the four line.
[Author's note: I feel like an absolute newbi when it comes to this :lol: I have no gun or firearm-related knowledge but I guess this role-play will fill me in on this topic]
Picking out a nice white dress with blue laces and bows for herself, Amaya hurried to get dressed in order not to feel the suddenly increased flow of cold wind. Putting on two layers of socks and her black boots with white shoelaces, the child hurried downstairs. Her nose picked up the warm smell of tea, and she instantly began wondering what flavor her mother had prepared today. Though they did have maids and servants, her mother always seemed to prefer making the food herself and each and every time she did, it was as if paradise was going down the girl's mouth. Her parent might be a medic, but her cooking skills were at the top as well. Knowing how she liked to have some diversity in her diet, every day the tea would be different. Rarely did they have to repeat the same flavor or have it too soon again. Jasmine? Jackson's Earl Grey? Green? Oolong? Ceylon perhaps? There were so many possibilities. As she was walking towards the kitchen, the sudden nose which came from the front door, something unusual for the ears, caught her attention. Turning, Amaya strayed away from her direction and walked towards the hallway of the entrance. Once she arrived, her gaze was directed to a woman with a few suitcases. And that was no ordinary woman. Marina Von Diru, the next clan head of the Von Diru. Quickly taking a respectable pose, the girl bowed slightly and spoke:
"Good morning, lady Von Diru. Did you travel well?"
Image
Lisitsa made a stubborn expression as Yu~Ki spoke, but then quickly blushed when he mentioned pants. He looked?! She did do her best and it was only for a split second. The nerve! While he continued ranting, the Nightmare child was planning her revenge on this person she had already decided to be a peeping tom. Her fantasizing was quickly held to a stop by the appearance of the one person she truly admired, the mistress, the holy mother of her clan, the one and only figure of welcoming darkness, Lucine Ophelia Nightmare. Her mere presence made the girl smile with joy. Bound as if by a spell, she listened to every word she said and let it sink in as if it were a rule of existence.
"Yes madam! I'll do my best and play safe with Emm!" Lisitsa cheerfully exclaimed and jumped up to a standing position.
Dusting off the snow from her dress with her hand, after a few shakes, she was decently clean. That being done, she grabbed Emm's hand and said:
"Let's go annoy that gloomy Von Diru guy!"
Without another word, she began walking towards the forest with lightining speed, pulling her relative along with, not accepting any sort of protest. Emma was a bit of a gloomy person herself and Lis found it perfectly normal to do such things, which were entirely in her friend's interest, at least from the twelve-year-old's point of view. As she was going, dragging along her accomplice, the sound of a song caught her attention. A light gentle song the described the time, the moth of December. Pulling to a stop, she gazed around and asked:
"Wonder where that is coming from?"
'When they are alone,they dare not cry but once together,they mourn like it shall never rise.How similar two different things are.' the boy thought as he walked down the street by the old railway towards his home.
