Welcome!
Determination is half the battle when reading the Brick, it took me four months to get through the unabridged version the first time I read it. But none of that time was wasted :D

Welcome Courfreyac!! Your name reminds me... Have you seen the blog "Texts From Courfreyac" on Tumblr? Hilarious. Also, I totally understand what you mean about the movie dragging you into obsession. I've always loved Les Mis but the movie has made me absolutely obsessed. It's like a problem. A huge one.

Never heard of it, thanks for sharing. It's the funniest tumblr I've found in a while
Just saw the movie for the fourth time yesterday and finally noticed that Marius picks up Cosette's hanker chief after A Heart Full of Love...I feel unobservant now :?

I've had a hard time with that too, so far I've only been able to find (aside from the major ones) Combeferre, Courfeyrac, Joly, Prouviare and I think Bossuet...
I think cutting out the beginning of Red and Black was a bad idea because now the only names of the L'Amie de L'ABC you hear are Enjolras and maybe Grantaire, I feel like his name is said but can't remember.

Grantaire's name is mentioned at least once, but it's only in passing. It was actually quite sad. I think they should have pressed the names more. Especially when, in America for example, the names are so unfamiliar, because most people have jumped on the movie bandwagon.

I wish the Amis each had like their own song and distinct part in the movie. They had so much more that was cut out...

I found the leaked script from the movie today and there are little things in it that I soooooo wish they had kept in the movie, most of them about the Amis. There was a lot more about Grantaire (his verse in Drink with me, showing him passed out in the Musain during the final battle, etc.) that was edited out. I WANT A 4-HOUR UNEDITED VERSION SOOOO BAD!!! Also there were little gaps in the script where they had taken out entire scenes before shooting... I really wonder what they were.

If anyone wants to see it, it's here. Just a warning, I pretty much bawled from Eponine's death through the Final Battle. Some of the little bits taken out are positively heartbreaking.

I downloaded that in November, so glad I was doing NaNoWriMo, otherwise I would've read more than the prologue and it would've spoiled some of the movie. Sad thing is, I still haven't gotten around to reading it...

And we NEED the 4 hour version! My life is not complete without it!
