[ The Time of Your Life ? ! ]

In the beginning, humans ruled the world - their powerful fist clenching over the Earth with a domination fueled with strength, knowledge and devotion. Yet, this was to become their downfall. In the pursuit of ultimate power, humans seeked out the possibility of intelligent life inhabiting foreign worlds light years from our own. A mistake they never lived to regret.
Hurried on by the eager expectations of the world leaders, they explored the charts of galaxies - distant orbs in the huge blue mass that was outer space. That's when they made the decision. The decision to send out a reconnaissance expedition to the outer rims of the Milky way - a destination that had never been reached in history before.

However, medical science revealed to them the deadly risk of sending a human being there, but this small pause was not enough to halt their progress. They then contemplated their primate companions, such as the chimpanzees, for this mission, but they knew that the apes were not beyond trickery or free will. That's when they turned to the canines. The famous proverb "a dog is a man's best friend" came into mind, and, eagerly, scientists began experimenting with a huge array of breeds of dog - exploring and manipulating the psychological fields of the canine mind. After a few years, they created a new generation of dog breeds - much more intelligent, able to comprehend things humans thought only they could. The dogs began to form society-like packs, an indication of their psychological renaissance.

That's when the humans paid for their vanity - with the blood of the entire human race. One day, they pushed too hard - excitement fueling their ignorance. That's when the canines rebelled. When it first happened, the humans had it under control - the mighty military and flexible police taking care of the canine rebels. But, soon, the canines had used their new-found intelligence to devise tactics and, with the full force of the generations of canines behind them, flushed the humans out until the family of the dog was the new world power.

You are one of those canines, born in an Earth free from what once was the iron-hard rule of humans. Your destiny will form the pinnacle of a utopia yet to be established. Are you ready to roam a world that never was?

[ Setting ? ! ]



TTOYL is set in the fantasy city of Nouveau; running along the edge of the city of a beautiful coastline, combining white sandy beach, pure blue oceans and mystical yet dangerous cliffs. Beyond the city you will also find a unique combination of settings, such as small canyons, mountains, hills, rivers and woodland that provide interesting areas of exploration for the canine's that inhabit this land.

The story within the city, however, is far different. The beauty of the surrounding scenery appears non-existent within the walls of the city. Since the end of the human race there has been plenty of time for the city's image to deteriorate. It too is a dangerous place to explore, entering here is risking your life, particularly if you choose to trespass on the Akando Pack’s territory. The vast city is ghostly, with empty buildings, shops and abandoned cars as far as the eye can see it truly is like walking through a ghost town. If you choose to live in Nouveau, you’re choosing a hard life. Always have your wits about you and don’t be so naive as to think you can trust anyone here.

It’s the beginning of a brand new year in Nouveau. Spring brings welcoming warmth to the earth as life begins to appear from all directions. The weather is temper mental, being sunny and dry one minute and then dull and rainy the next. Rain is going to common during the up and coming months, so minor floods may occur.

[ The Rule Book ? ! ]

1.) Respect is a big one, and it applies to everyone. You must respect the other members.
2.) If you have to leave for a few days or leave completely, please let me know! Any members inactive after 1 week, I will remove you from the list and delete your characters. I will not delete you if you contacted me before you were absent. You may come back and ask me nicely if you can rejoin if you wish to do so.
3.) Have fun. Really, we are here for you so enjoy us. Have fun, make friends etc.
4.) We have no character limit, at the moment. So, unlimited charries!
5.) No perfect characters! Everyone has a weakness, a flaw, etc. If I read a bio and find it to be suggesting at such perfection then you will be declined and/or asked to change it.
6.) This is a realistic roleplay! Odd coat colors are a no, but odd eye colors will be accepted once in a while. If every character you have has an odd eye color, they will be changed back to brown or I will make you're characters blind. 8D Kidding.
7.) I do ask that you roleplay in the THIRD PERSON and in the PAST TENSE. It's generally more interesting to read than 'I' or 'Me' all the time. However if you feel more comfortable in first person I will allow it.
8.) This is a semi-literate and up roleplay. That means at least four sentences, but writer's block is exceptional once in a while.
9.) Correct grammar and spelling is a must! Typos are an exception, though.
10.) NO GOD-MODING! Everyone gets hurt or even killed at sometime in their lives. Nothing is more annoying than a character that constantly overpowers the other and manages to dodge every single attack. If you are seen doing this, you will be punished without warning.
11.) No Powerplaying - This means posting the other persons actions in your post. This is unfair and really quite annoying. If you have the other persons permission, then it will be okay. Other than that, don't do it!
12.) Please don't have it where two characters immediately fall in love. This sort of thing takes time so I suggest you have at least three real time days before even letting the characters consider falling for each other. Your character must also fall in love with someone elses. You cannot have two of your own characters breeding and falling in love, etc.
13.) I allow breeding but please don't be graphic. Just the basics are fine. Also, please make sure that both members agree to become mates and breed.
14.) Fighting is allowed casually, however if it is over something proper for example pack leadership, please contact me and allow me to judge it fairly.
15.) If it is a pack fight please ensure equal sides. For example 2x2 etc. You are only allowed 3x1 or something if it is a trespasser on land.
16.) Dogs can only die in battle if their roleplayer is ok with it.
17.) Currently gang leaders must be 4 years or older.
18.) No breed or sex restrictions. It's equally real for a female to lead a pack.
19.) If there are two leaders (mates for example) then they share the power equally.
20.) Be realistic. When it comes to canines, we know they often like to breed when and where they like. However please be fairly realistic. For example, a great dane and a jack russel would be physically impossible to breed naturally together. Typically, we suggest that if you have a canine that's over 30", don't breed it with a character that is under 20". If I catch any of this, I will take action and even prevent it. This is a realistic roleplay afterall.
21.) Minor cussing is aloud, so let me hear a big 'Hell yeah!'

The Akando Pack are a cruel, murderous race that seeks power and authority in the city of Nouveau. They're dark minded and fierce, not the sort of canines you'd want to come across as a loner if you had any hopes of surviving. However do not judge them as a whole, for each canine within this pack is a complex one. They cannot be judged at face value as beneath the outer shell there lies a unique canine, be it through a blatent difference or a tiny aspect of their personality. Akandian territory lies in the business district of the city, amongst the towering skyscrapers and the crumbling factories.

The Zarina Pack are an unusual group of canines. This pack consists of all females, excluding the males that they keep as slaves for themselves. Zarinians could be described as cult like in their ways, having particular rituals and such held within the walls of their lands which are and have always been the dorment volanco just out side of the city. All members of the Zarina Pack learn to look up to and respect their 'Goddess'. Who is this Goddess? None other than the founder of the pack all those years ago: Nefasta. These females are extremely selfish in terms of the wellbeing of the city as a whole, for they only care for their own kind and tend not to participate in things going on within the city walls.

The Takoda Pack are the lighter of the three packs. Their hearts are in the right places and they only want the best for Nouveau and the canine's that live within. But don't be so harsh as to judge them all as soppy weaklings, because they are far from it in fact. While many of these canines are just your average, everyday creatures wanting nothing more than to survive each day, some have unique talents. For example, some are highly trained in fighting while others have even higher intelligence than the rest of the developed canines. They are strong creatures, be it physically or emotionally, and they fight for what they believe in. They do not believe in pointless, unnecessary and utterly random murder however they will kill if their pack comes under threat. Takodians are a very tight-knit group and will do anything to protect each other. Their territory is based on the large south side of Nouveau beach.

The loners, the ones that live and walk alone in the freelands. They live without a pack to serve, for they want the freedom to do as they wish, that is, unless the run into pack territory. These dogs live by their own rules, unlike the pack dogs that live the rules under the Alpha and live loyally and serve their pack. Most of these dogs live alone, but some may have family and friends that they may live with or visit daily. There are various personalities among these dogs. Mad, vicious, sweet, smart, swift, loyal, deceiving, etc. However, these dogs are not to be judged just for not being in a pack. A lot have gone through a tough history and know how to fight, while others make up for lack of strength with their high speeds and wittiness. Be cautious around a loner.

Territory of the Akando
The city is a vast few miles of old office buildings, factories, and rundown apartment complexes. It is a dangerous town, and it is very hard to tell what is sturdy and what may crumble under ones paws. The saying ‘tread lightly’ should be taken very seriously when wandering through this city, especially when climbing up buildings and other unsteady structures. The canines who make their home here are most likely Akandian.

Territory of the Takoda
Nouveau beach runs straight along the edge of the city, from North to South. While the beach remains empty after the end of the human race, it appears that a large portion of the long beach has been claimed by the Takoda Pack. They claim the South end of the beach for their own, running many border checks to keep intruders off of their lands. The sand here is pure and white, free from any filth and grit that might once have been likely from the dirty humans. The width of the beach is a good length, around half a mile and thus provides plenty of areas to explore. While the pack that resides here is known to be the lighter pack they do not take lightly to trespassers so perhaps it would be best if you stayed clear of the South end of the beach. The border into their territory is clearly marked by a weathered old fishing hut in the center of the sand.

Territory of the Zarina
When Nouveau crumbled and fell, the nearby mountain that towered above it remained. In fact, technically, it's not a mountain. It's a dormant volcano, the lava hardened and formed caverns within the center. There are various openings leading into the complex labyrinth of caverns within the dormant volcano. The Zarina Pack dwells here, a cult-like group of females who have been known to enslave males and have respect only for their own.

[ The Ranks (explored) ? ! ]

Alpha Male: The one that rises high above the pack. He is the one that makes all of the decisions, along with his mate. Only one position
Alpha Female: The one that rises high above the pack. She is the one that makes all of the decisions, along with her mate. Only one position
Deputy: The adviser, and the Alpha's most trusted dog. He/she is used as a mediator of disputes between the Akandians and other packs. Only one position.
Beta Male: Besides the Deputy, he would be second in command, along with his mate. Only one position.
Beta Female Besides the Deputy, she would be second in command, along with her mate. Only one position.
Capo: Also called Capo's. The Captain of the lower ranking dogs, besides the Alpha. Sends out patrols and reports to the Alphas. Two to three positions.

Kupua: The pack healers with a vast knowledge of herbs, plants and home remedies. Five positions.
Assassins: Dog's chosen for their speed and accuracy by the Alphas and Deputy. They are the dogs who search out and eliminate possible threats, that or bring the threats up to the Alpha himself. Five Positions.
Soldiers: The Guards of sorts. Most likely the strongest dogs in the pack that patrol the borders frequently and report to the Alphas. Six positions.
Messengers: Dog's that relay messages back and forth from the Alphas to other pack members. Must have extreme agility and speed. Six positions.
Gatherers: The pack hunters who hunt in the city, the forest and by the lake for deer and other large game. Seven positions.
Subordinates: Ordinary pack members. Multiple positions.

Associates: Dogs that help the pack, but are not actually part of it.
The Dead: Dogs that have died for whatever reason.
